My BFGoodrich KO2 tyres are less than 2y old and started showing damage on the tread (chunks literally tearing out) after only 28k km. After weeks of wiating (and escalation to the Motor Industry Ombudsman), Michelin (BFGoodrich holding company) rejected the claim stating that the damage is due to "severe off-road usage". So much for "BFGoodrich's toughest All-Terrain tyre. Ever." I also discovered that my tyres were manufactured in Thailand, not the US (not disclosed at the time of sale).

I have BF Goodrich All Terrain tyres on my bakkie. The tyres has done about 30 000km. 90% off which in town and tarred surfaces. Three of the tyres have cracks, hairline cracks, and chipped off pieces. Apart from being a safety risk, this quality cannot be accepted. I have photos available for any interested party

I bought a set of BFG 265/70/R17 KM3 Mud terrain tires from Hi-Q Vredendal. The service from Hi-Q Vredendal was great but the service I got from BF Goodrich is shocking! It's a pity I can't post pictures here, then you can decide for yourself - Tires still have 50% thread left & all of them have cuts & tears all over, you can see it's defects in the tire itself - in such a way that I don't feel safe keeping them on my vehicle. I did receive a report from the BF Goodrich agents in South Africa which states: "Our experts concluded that the tires have no manufacturing defects - the damage is accidental or results from the use conditions. Consequently we are sorry to inform you that we cannot propose compensation." Well, over the past few years I have used different tire brands & never have I experienced such damage to 4 x tires with around 50% life in them. I mean, BFG isn't the cheapest tires around & I don't mind paying a premium for trustworthy tires but it's shocking that BFG South Africa isn't standing behind their brand/product. Will I ever buy BF Goodrich tires again? Definitely not & I would highly advise you against it either!

4 x BF Goodridge Michelin Mud Terrain bande (31/10.5/15) aangekoop Oktober 2010 by Tiger Wheel + Tyre (N1 City). (Kostes vir my sak!) Is hul leeftyd net 5 jaar??

We purchased BF Goodrich KO 265/70/17 Tires last year in September 15. We have only driven +- 5000 km with these tires. We drive a FJ Cruiser and last weekend (4th June 16)we went to Sabie. On our way back past Sudwala Caves we accidently went onto a gravel road. We kept going for about 2km and realised the tire was damaged. A stone cut the tire.

We have phoned numerious suppliers to purchase a new tire as that one cannot be repaired. My husband phoned the manufactures more than once and we were told that the perticular tire has been discontinued.

Knowhere can we find one and cannot afford to replace all four as we feel the other is still perfect.

I just want to understand how a 4 x 4 off road tire can be damaged by a little stone on a gravel road. I cannot imagine us doing a 4 x 4 course with these tires now... i have lost trust in these tires.

To replace thes tires will cost us around R 20 000.

No one is interested in assisting us and keep on passing the buck. I would not advise anyone to ever buy BF Goodrich tires again as this is RUBBISH!!!!!

Francois/Lorette
