Spare yourself the pain and suffering, find another vehicle repair service. They will proceed with repairs , damage your car and slap you with a huge bill once they have figured out after replacing everything possible. Nightmare.Ivan does not communicate and does as he sees fit sparing no expense in his learning curve.2+months and now my car is being held ransom.Reported them to RMI, what a waste of time they don't care about you they just pass messages on from mechanics!!They don't need proof they just go on who is more believable. What a joke.

Two years' ago I sent a review on the business' website to praise the business for the wonderful the service I received at Blackheath Auto Services. However, this time, I am very disappointed in the lack of feedback, and the many excuses that are made for not calling, emailing or responding to Whatsapp messages! I call, email and send Whatsapp messages to get feedback on the repairs on my vehicle, however, I do not get a response. Unless I go to their location to get face-to-face feedback, I get NO RESPONSE! When I call to the business number, I leave messages for Ivan to call back, and I get told that I will be called back within 15 - 20 minutes. But, that does not happen, and I'm left to call back again. For example, my vehicle was towed in to the dealership on 06/05, as I was sure that the car was not mechanically sound. Ivan called me to let me know that they were testing the vehicle. There was also outstanding mechanical matter that needed to be done, so I said that the could then also attend to that. So, the vehicle has been there since 06/05. I called on Wednesday 14/05/25 at 15:02 to find out about my vehicle, and was told that the lady who answered the call would call me back within 15 minutes (she was busy with someone at the time). it is now Friday 16/05 (more than 36 HOURS!!) and I am yet to receive a call back. This is not the 1st time this has happened, and in spite of bringing this to Ivan's attention (i.e. the lack of communication and response) it continued to this day. So, yet again, no response to my emails, my calls, or WhatsApp messages. Other than going to the business, I don't know how else to get hold of them. I am beyond shocked at the lack of communication by the business, and swear that I could not, in all sensibility, recommend this business anymore. The lack of feedback or communication seems to be a trend (as per some of the reviews), so I truly hope that they take heed of this, and improve their communication to clients.

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the service I received at Blackheath Auto Repair Center. On September 18, 2025, I dropped off my vehicle to have the lower arm control boosters repaired, which were causing a significant knocking sound. I followed the established protocol for repairs within the warranty service network. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be far from satisfactory. After persistent follow-ups, it became evident that my car had not been attended to in a timely manner. The staff seemed to add items to the failure report, including claims that my radiator and turbo were leaking. This was surprising, as these issues had not previously existed. Despite repeated inquiries, I found it alarming that the necessary work had not even commenced by Wednesday 18 September 2024 of that week. I felt obliged to retrieve my vehicle on Thursday, September 25, 2024, due to increasing concerns over transparency and communication. Upon collecting my vehicle, I was shocked to discover it had been damaged while in their care. The front bumper had sustained significant damage, including paint scratches and a loose headlight. After contacting Ivan Botha, the owner, he acknowledged that one of his staff members had caused this damage and accepted responsibility for the repair work. However, he insisted that I bring the vehicle back to their facility, which I firmly declined to recieve from his so called repaires. Given the circumstances, I have chosen to take my car to an independent repair service for a proper assessment and repairs. I believe it is crucial that Mr. Botha covers the costs associated with the radiator damage and the cosmetic repairs required for the body and lighting of my car. Currently, I am incurring costs out of pocket, as I need to get quotations for the necessary repairs while navigating this unfortunate situation. My trust in their services has been severely compromised. The damages inflicted on my vehicle while in the hands of Blackheath Auto Service. I hope this serves as a cautionary tale for others considering their services. Ivan Botha refused to pay for my damages and ignoring my calles. After admitting his wrongful doing towards my car. I wouldn't advice anyone to make use of their services.

This Company is extremely unprofessional, not organized and it's overpricing everything. I took my 2014 Chevrolet Cruze Sedan to them on December 2023. The car overheated the problem is the engine. Still in December I asked the owner Mr Ivan via whatsapp how long will I wait for the car roughly so that I can plan for it he never rep****. I went to them on January 2024 & found that the car was still the same they haven't started working on it. Now only after I went to them and complained that's when they claimed from my Warranty Innovation Group on 18/01/2024. They told me to open the engine is 5k and to close it it's another 5k without fixing anything that is just for diagnostic purposes 😲. Innovation Group approved my claim on 26/01/2024 and emailed it to me same day. Approved amount was 40k, BLACKHEATH AUTO SERVICE AND REPAIRS never get back to me until I contacted them on 09/02/2024, they said they forgot to get back to me and give me the Quotation they then told me via phone call that their Quotation is 90k/ R90000 for fixing overheated car imagine, this simple means I must pay them 100k/ 100000 😲. I never received any official quotation document/ letter from them detailing everything. My car has-been there for 3 months now & they've started fixing it. These people have no sympathy and they don't value their Customers. I told them I'm using that Car everyday because I stay in a very isolated area there's no public transport at all there I'm very stressed because I'm using Uber to go to work everyday and that costs me money angry 😡😠😡

If there was an option to give this company 0stars I would do it gladly but sadly, I’ll have settle for 1. First this company is extremely unprofessional. We took our car to them in December hoping it’ll get fixed, but we were told that they would be going on a festive holiday, which we understood. Now come January, nothing is done to the car even though the Insurance has been waiting for their claim and fault report. When called for updates, the staff is just unprofessional and do not provide accurate information to us. If we didn’t physically go to the place, they would’ve never sent a claim to the insurance company. Now they are being charged R5k to open and R5k to close the car which is ridiculous on itself but we want the car back desperately so we didn’t mind paying this. Now we’re being told that the entire engine repair is going to cost R90k, 90 thousand for an engine that doesn’t even cost more than R20k? Are you kidding me? If there was ever a time to look into a company’s books, I think this would be one to start with because these costs DO NOT MAKE SENSE. I’m so disgusted by the service, this in not how you treat people as a business. This car is very essential. Imagine not having a car for 3 months going to 4 when we live in such an isolated area. WE NEED THE CAR Back or we will have no choice but to involve the law on this! 😡😡😡

If you live in the Eersteriver, Blackheath, Kleinvlei or Kuilsriver area and your vehicle requires service or maintenance, I would really recommend BLACKHEATH AUTO SERVICE & REPAIRS. The business owner is Ivan Botha, who is a very understanding, caring and reasonable man. The ladies in the office, Stephanie and Petronella (affectionately known as "Petti") are the sweetest, kindest, most helpful ladies ever! I was there today out of concern that there might be a problem with my car. The vehicle was assessed, and the issues identify. However, it wasn't just that the service was efficient, it was also the warm welcome, the kindness and understanding that impressed me very much. I would DEFINITELY recommend Blackheath Auto Service & Repairs for your vehicle's service- and maintenance needs!
