Problem with this is that Bluu Car Rental makes renting a car a very stressful experience with delays in refunds, taking money from accounts, accusing renters of damaging cars when they have not done so and then sending threatening SMS for damages etc. Really poor service all around - not one rental experience has been without some problem of some sorts.

Problem with this is that Bluu Car Rental makes renting a car a very stressful experience with delays in refunds, taking money from accounts, accusing renters of damaging cars when they have not done so and then sending threatening SMS for damages etc. Really poor service all around - not one rental experience has been without some problem of some sorts.

I booked a car from OR Tambo on December 23rd to 27th, 2025. All was well, and we travelled without any problems. I returned the car on the 27th to the Randburg branch, but to my surprise, five days later I received a call from Bluu Randburg telling me the car had damage. I was surprised because I know I didn't hit anything or bump into anything. I requested pictures and the footage as I was told scratch was captured by a camera when I entered the gate to drop off the car. But when I got there I was shown the footage of the 29th when the employee was reversing the car. I demanded the one for the 27th when I dropped the car. They played it several times and zoomed it, but there was no damage; the employee insisted it was not visible because it was raining on the day and also because of the camera pixels. They gave me an insurance forms to complete. Bluu car rental is surely a ****. I was expecting my refund and now the want to take all my money.

I hired a car from Bluu Car Rental. When I was fetching a car from them, car inspection was done on the body of the car only... inspection was not done underneath the car... but when I was bringing back the car the first thing they did they went straight underneath the car and sent me pictures of many damages that were underneath the car. They are claimjng that I am the cause of those damages whereas they did not show me how the car looked like underneath before I took it. When I complained about that later on they said that they discovered a yellow paint on the car which I believe there is something they did after the car was dropped as I know what is happening behind the scenes with some of their employees. I was warned about them before I hired a car from them but I ignored those allegations. They knew that they gonna claim those damages from the next client. When the car was brought back they went straight undernearh the car whereas when I took the car I was never shown what was happening under the car. They are threatning me to sign for those damages.

We rented a Toyota fortuner at OR Tambo last night. The car would not start. We logged a call at 7 am for assistance. A tow truck arrived after 9:30 to take the car away. In the 7 am call we had requested a lift to or tambo to get another car as they did not have 2 drivers to bring us a car. We assumed they would fetch the car and provide the lift. We kept calling for the lift. We had to fight to get an uber and at 1115 we got an uber outside the place which was beaten up and the driver was not even dressed properly. How do you treat your customers if you don’t even consider their safety. Eventually we ordered our own uber black who fetched us at 11:30. In all the years of hiring cars, I don’t think there has been a worse experience. Do not use this car rental.

Sadly the inititial good experience of super helpful staff at Hoedspruit has been severely marred by the fact that the "hold" on my credit card took 2 weeks to clear, and then for no reason at all another "hold" has been slapped onto my credit card the day after the first one was released. No explanation for this can be given to me and having requested the finance department to phone me, I still await the call. Definitely will NOT use this company again. I have used up so much time calling them and the bank. Credit must be given to Goodenough at Hoedspruit for his politeness and attempts to get this sorted. Obviously his finance department has let him down. The car was handed in and all cleared that there was no damage - the rental fee came off my credit card virtually immediately - so WHY can you not release the "hold" amount. ??

Stay the f*** away from these ******! ***** as hell, all sorts of suspicious terms and conditions and practices typical of thieving c*nts! - No telephone numbers on their documentation - Redirects when contacting reservations or customer care - "Sorry I can't help with that, you need to call someone else" - Discovery Ban don't recognize them and won't lift a hold on a credit card and the list goes on... other than the f*cking rude and *********** people answering their phones, they'll probably fit right in in the SA landscape of fly-by-night business allowed to operate.

In September 2023, I rented a bakkie from the Lanseria branch. Unfortunately I didn't check the disk. It had expired. A day later I got a ticket of which I took back to them, they promised to get it canceled since it was in my name. A year later, I'm still being sent from pillar to post but still the ticket is still standing and bothering me at road blocks.
