BOA Beauty Bar
Based on recent customer reviews, BOA Beauty Bar is facing significant customer experience challenges across multiple branches. Customers consistently mention poor nail durability, with gel and acrylic applications lifting, chipping, or breaking shortly after appointments. A recurring theme is dissatisfaction with how complaints are handled, including unanswered calls, ignored emails, and rigid warranty policies. Several reviewers describe rushed treatments, technicians appearing distracted, and uncomfortable interactions with staff. While a few customers highlight pleasant aesthetics and skilled individual technicians, the dominant sentiment reflects frustration with service quality and management accountability.

Great pricing advertised for acrylic coat over own nails so I drove all the way from sunward park to Eastgate for my appointment. Upon arrival I asked what it would cost to add a tip on two of the shorter nails and she quoted me R65 per nail. I said to her I found that very excessive as that will mean a full set would be R650 and considering I’m first time customer driving all this way would she review as I could have done this much cheaper in my own area. The manager was not interested and said that is unfortunately the price. I accepted and gave go ahead for the two tips. The lady ended up filing them shorter than my normal nails which defeated the entire point of wanting the tips. I was there for over two hours and no tea, coffee or water offered which I also found strange. The nail equipment is also not in great condition. The LED curing sets on all the tables are dirty and messed with previous customers nail polish. The nail files also did not book very clean / hygenic. When going to pay the store manager had no interest to ask if I am happy with my nails. The one tip lifted 2 days after my visit. I will DEFINITELY not be returning.

Boa Verdi, Johannesburg. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! experience. Take my advice: Rather pay a bit more and go to another salon. I went for a pedicure and foot massage. She massaged my ankles so hard, even though I REPEATEDLY said that she is hurting me. She flat out ignored me. I should have left. Week later and my leg is still bruised and sore…. And yes, I do have the ladies name…

First and last time I'll visit Boa Verdi Centre. I waited 25 mins for my appointment with not even an acknowledgement or apology. All I wanted was to remove gel from my finger nails. Terrible treatment of my nails including a cut made on my finger. The technician clearly didn't know what she was doing. Took 70 minutes to do this. So add this to my 25 minute wait. Absolutely unacceptable.

Had soft gel nails done on the 21st two days ago they started lifting and today more than 5 nails are off, when I went to them boa beauty in Sandown I got told that if I let them know before the 7 day warrantee period they would’ve fixed it else it will cost me R65 per nail to be fixed. This is unprofessional and you are definitely loosing me as a customer. Will never return absolutely disgusting.

My wife and I booked a foot massage with BOA Beauty Bar Riverlands Mall via the Fresha site. OMW what ****ty service, firstly the receptionist has no sense of service or welcoming clients. All she was focused on is that the booking doesn't reflect on the store's software even when we showed her the Fresha app reference. Understand your staff represents your business train them how to service your clients. You've not just lost 2 clients because we won't recommend your business to anyone in our circle.

I had a gel overlay done 31st December at Boa beauty Bar Sandown Table View By January 5th my nails were peeling and gel was coming off I sent pictures to the manager at the Sandown store Who advised a full set would be done the following Saturday. Friday came and I messaged the salon to ask if I can reschedule the appointment as my kid is quite sick and I'm nursing. She said it won't be possible as the fix needed to be done in a certain time frame. Which I understand. Saturday morning came and I said I won't be coming as I'm in way to hospital with my kid. All she said was okay hope my kid gets well. I emailed the management team of Boa and to date (22 Jan) i have yet to receive any feedback. Now I'm left with half gel overlay nails on hands and a very sour taste in my mouth from a Brand such as Boa. Today i sent another email to them for a response and full refund for my nails. DO NOT GO TO BOA SANDOWN - THE SERVICE IS PATHETIC

I booked a medi pedi without polish at BOA Verdi in JHB. Without polish means that my nails would be buffed and shined. Caitlin did an amazing treatments however at the end of the treatment I asked if my nails will be buffed and shined. She informed me that it would not as there is no stock of buffers to shine the nails at the salon. Completely unacceptable as this is a nail bar. Left with a sour experience as I had paid for the most expensive pedicure and have not received the full service.

I did my beautiful set of gelish, both mani and pedi at BOA beauty and bar Mushroom farm Midrand Kyalami Hills and the service was great, from the booking of my appointment online, to the WhatsApp communication, to the salon entrance and finally the nail tech was just absolutely amazing. The beautiful aesthetics is breathtaking and relaxing. I ended up buying their nice flops and the cuticle oil.
