My wife and I booked a foot massage with BOA Beauty Bar Riverlands Mall via the Fresha site. OMW what ****ty service, firstly the receptionist has no sense of service or welcoming clients. All she was focused on is that the booking doesn't reflect on the store's software even when we showed her the Fresha app reference. Understand your staff represents your business train them how to service your clients. You've not just lost 2 clients because we won't recommend your business to anyone in our circle.

I had a gel overlay done 31st December at Boa beauty Bar Sandown Table View By January 5th my nails were peeling and gel was coming off I sent pictures to the manager at the Sandown store Who advised a full set would be done the following Saturday. Friday came and I messaged the salon to ask if I can reschedule the appointment as my kid is quite sick and I'm nursing. She said it won't be possible as the fix needed to be done in a certain time frame. Which I understand. Saturday morning came and I said I won't be coming as I'm in way to hospital with my kid. All she said was okay hope my kid gets well. I emailed the management team of Boa and to date (22 Jan) i have yet to receive any feedback. Now I'm left with half gel overlay nails on hands and a very sour taste in my mouth from a Brand such as Boa. Today i sent another email to them for a response and full refund for my nails. DO NOT GO TO BOA SANDOWN - THE SERVICE IS PATHETIC

I booked a medi pedi without polish at BOA Verdi in JHB. Without polish means that my nails would be buffed and shined. Caitlin did an amazing treatments however at the end of the treatment I asked if my nails will be buffed and shined. She informed me that it would not as there is no stock of buffers to shine the nails at the salon. Completely unacceptable as this is a nail bar. Left with a sour experience as I had paid for the most expensive pedicure and have not received the full service.

I had a Nail Rescue treatment on 4 January at BOA 3 Arts Plumstead using a voucher I got for Christmas . Corners were cut during my treatment, as my hands were not soaked before cuticle work, which caused discomfort even after I mentioned it. The service at reception when processing my voucher was very unfriendly, had to etiquette and was extremely unprofessional, and it felt as though the level of service changed based on the client or the staff member’s mood. Overall, this was a disappointing experience and not the standard I expected. I also left this review on their Google page and they removed it. I wonder why?

I did my beautiful set of gelish, both mani and pedi at BOA beauty and bar Mushroom farm Midrand Kyalami Hills and the service was great, from the booking of my appointment online, to the WhatsApp communication, to the salon entrance and finally the nail tech was just absolutely amazing. The beautiful aesthetics is breathtaking and relaxing. I ended up buying their nice flops and the cuticle oil.

I am extremely disappointed with BOA and the complete lack of accountability. Booking was already frustrating — calls keep you in queues until airtime runs out, and it took three days to get WhatsApp responses before a booking could even be made. On 4 January 2026, I was clearly told by Yasmina that the massage portion of the pedicure would be around 20 minutes. I booked based on this confirmation at the Riverside Rondebosch Mall branch. On 6 January, the technician contradicted this and delivered a rushed, low-quality service: · Ingrown toenail ignored until I asked · Scrubbing lasted less than 5 minutes · No soaking time · Massage lasted about 8 minutes · Treatment ended in 40 minutes where treatment was an hour The final result was unacceptable — uneven, bumpy polish and feet that looked untouched. This is not what one pays for at a professional salon. Attempts to resolve this were ignored. Calls went unanswered, WhatsApp messages were ignored, other branches did not assist, and despite being promised a callback from management, no one contacted me. There appears to be no owner or senior management willing to address complaints. I am requesting a full refund and am posting this as a public warning to others considering BOA. The most pathetic service I have ever received! No wonder they are so cheap. How do you have people with titles as managers but don’t get back to customers or sort the issue out.

I had my nails done at Boa Beauty Bar Table Bay Mall on Sunday 21 December 2025. I had a booking for acrylic nails. Upon doing my nails I noticed that the nail tech put the acrylic on VERY thinly and I asked the nail tech if it won’t break. Her response was “ no it won’t break because we I’m still going to put on the rubber base”. I took her word. 2 days later my nail is showing signs of breakage. I’ve contacted them asking the way forward and they said they can only fix the one nail. My concern is that what happens if the rest of the nails start breaking? Keep in mind, I don’t do ANY heavy duty work and I’m VERY careful when it comes to my nails. I’m being told that once I leave the store it’s completely on me when something goes wrong. I paid so much to get it done. I’m demanding that they redo all the nails as I have trust issues with it.

Hi, I was made uncomfortable by one of employees during a visit to Boa Beauty Bar Mall of the South. During my visit, she was gossiping about me with clients and other colleagues, which made me extremely uncomfortable. As a paying customer, I believe I should be treated with the same respect as any other clients, regardless of any personal matters outside of the workplace. Her name is Vuyokazi Mjobo. If she comfortably does this to me imagine other clients as well,”. I hope they call her to order before she ruins the reputation.
