Do not ever make an online purchase with these people. Once you have paid you get no communication on the status of your order. On 6 April I ordered 3 (sonoff) items to the value of R737 which included R80 delivery. On 11 February I made an enquiry on their website as I had received no response after payment. On 13 February I received notification that the parcel is being packed and was going out for delivery. Once received several days later I installed these and one of the basic switches were faulty. I sent an email to them on 29 April advising them of this. I have yet to have a response to my email. They deserve no stars

Bought a 9 Rack wall-mount unit from Communica. According to there website, it should have come fully assembled, it was not. It also did not come with instructions on how to assemble it. When I called them, they put me through from person to person, every time I need to explain the problem to a new person, finally came to a person that said it should have been fully assembled and that they will find out that happened and call me back, I am a still waiting for this person to call me back. After 30 minutes, i called them, I could not get a hold of the person and the phone cut out, I decided it is not worth the effort! I strongly advise you to pay a little extra and get your supplies from a company that is professional and reliable, with other words don't buy it from Communica!

I ordered a Sonoff T5 switch from Communica and, to be fair, the delivery was excellent — I received my order the same day, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, my experience with their return policy has been very disappointing. While Communica’s price was over R300 cheaper than Takealot, I regret not spending the extra money, as Takealot’s return process is far superior. With Communica, I am currently being refunded for one of the two switches I bought, but the second one — which looks used because my electrician attempted to install it — is not being refunded. The real issue is that the product description didn’t mention that these switches often don’t work in older South African houses due to neutral wiring compatibility. When I called for support, I was basically told: “We’ve never had issues with those switches, good luck.” That response didn’t inspire confidence, especially after my electrician confirmed with his colleagues that the neutral wire in my home is not compatible with the device. Going forward, I’ll rather pay a bit more with Takealot, knowing I have up to 6 months to return items without hassle. I’ve returned multiple products with them before and never had a problem. With Communica, unfortunately, the after-sales support and return flexibility just doesn’t compare.
