I incurred direct expenses due to an overnight flight delay on July 28th, 2025. The flight delay resulted in my missing a connecting flight and an overnight hotel booking which I then had to re-book and pay additional costs for. My case number is 15344271 My email and phone communications have been fruitless, although compensation was promised in writing by Delta when the flights were changed.

Received an email response from Patricia M. , Customer Care for Delta Airlines Delta Airline re: Case Number 15779832 I am not happy at all with the resolution decision taken on this matter. The $US50 voucher offered as compensation is an insult to both my wife and I - the massive inconvenience caused to us throughout the return journey was entirely Delta’s responsibility. To recap : • When Delta re-booked my wife and I on the alternative flight to Cape Town via Johannesburg (DL200 & SA375), Delta did not book me on the Jhb-CPT domestic flight. I had to pay for this myself and demand a full refund for R4,825 as soon as possible. Please advise when the refund will be effected, let me know how the refund will me made as well. • If the brake pads on DL1810 Aircraft had been properly maintained in the first place, we would have made it for our connecting flight to Cape Town • If the cabin crew on DL2484 had allowed us to disembark first so that we could get across the airport to our international flight, we would have made it to our connecting international flight and avoided all of the subsequent further problems that followed • If Delta hadn’t messed up the booking of my connecting SA375 flight to Cape Town that was I was supposed to have been booked on, I wouldn’t have have to pay R4,825 out of my pocket • My Suitcase went missing and when it eventually arrived in Cape Town, it was badly damaged with a broken combination lock and the handle was destroyed. Please let me know how this will be compensated for as well ?

Flight DL201 from JNB to ATL on 4 June 2025 was cancelled as I arrived at the airport to check in, the Delta help desk was completely swamped and all flights on their app, to Atlanta, was basically sold out, as everyone was trying to change or find flights, I had meetings in Atlanta on 5 June and had to get there ASAP, and seeing as the replacement flight was only on 7 June, I would have missed all the meetings, that were extremely important to my career, I then had to spend around $2000 on the spot to get a one way flight to Atlanta through United Airlines, I phoned Delta whilst in Atlanta and they assured me that they would reimburse me for the cancelled flight and possibly reimburse me for the costs related to their flight cancellation, but that I should contact them when I am back in South Africa and everything could be sorted out. I contacted them on 12 June to start the process of getting reimbursed, it is now 6 weeks later and I have not received the $1000 for the cancelled flight and was told that I would not get any reimbur*****t for the $2000 their flight cancellation cost me. At this stage I probably won’t be flying Delta ever again although I will be going to Atlanta every year in June. Here are my 2 customer care reference numbers 14152624 14152872

Delta Airlines really don’t give a ****. Flew from Atlanta to Johannesburg on 27 November 2024 having booked our seats many months before flying so that my wife and 2 daughters could sit together in a row. The day before flight Delta reallocated ourseats and we were split up. I need to add that I’m a tall guy and always book an aisle seat to get in and out easily. In there infinite wisdom they gave us a window and middle seat together, then another in the middle of the middle 3 seats and another middle seat a few rows forward. I immediately contacted them via their messaging service and after 15 minutes of communicating with an agent she said she couldn’t help and I should speak to the gate agent. On the morning of our flight I again called their 800 number and again was told their error would be fixed by the gate agent just before boarding. Then at baggage drop I again queried this and the lady said the gate agent will fix this. I approached David at the gate to ask for help and he started off with a seriously poor attitude and said he couldn’t and wouldn’t do anything. When I expressed my dissatisfaction he basically threatened to pull us off the plane if I didn’t move away. I continued to express my frustration and his attitude got worse. At no point did he even check on their system if he could put us back in our previously booked seats despite me showing him my confirmation email. His answer was that all other Delta staff had been lying and had passed the problem onto the gate and he wouldn’t and couldn’t fix their mistake. We ended up flying in these ****py seats and the flight was not much better. The food was **********, toilets were always dirty, the onboard staff had poor service attitudes. Overall I’d give Delta 1 out of 10 for this flight. If you can avoid them I’d recommend it!!!!

Had to cancel my flight and postponed it to February 2024. When February came the flight was cancelled, which was not a problem. I contacted Expedia and Delta Airlines and they said my flight will be credited, but will expire in October 2024. It has been a month now, I’m struggling to get a hold of Delta, the lady I spoke to was very rude and said she can’t help me. The ticket was very expensive, not to mention postponing, which cost more. Now I’m being told they don’t have my credits. This is absurd! The ticket is expiring in a month and they won’t do anything to help me. I requested them to phone me, still no response after a month. Please do yourself a favor and don’t fly with Delta.

I have a problem with Delta Airways and Capitec bank as I booked a ticket on the 12th of August but the transaction was unsuccessful on Delta side but it's pending on the Capitec side which has been 9 days today, I have been in contact with both companies numerous times but Capitec says they need a letter from Delta stating that they never received the payment but Delta says they cannot assist with the letter and Capitec says that they can't reverse the payment without the letter from Delta which is very shattering for me as I need the ticket as proof to my employer that I will be returning to work and I am currently running out of time.

I paid for a plane ticket using my Discovery cheque card on 11 August 2024 for the amount of R27,269.30 with Delta SA Airlines. The initial payment attempt was unsuccessful, but the second attempt was successful. However, two days later, I discovered that the first payment had also been processed, resulting in my account being overdrawn and subsequent declines at other transactions. Delta SA Airlines is unable to assist due to their protocol and has not made efforts to resolve the issue. Discovery Bank, which has full control over my account, has not been able to decline the duplicate transaction due to insufficient funds, despite the fact that such transactions should typically be declined if there are no available funds. I am deeply disappointed that modern banking technology cannot rectify this issue promptly.

My son travelled on Delta to Lexington USA on 5th August 2024 and he still hasn’t been reunited with his bags almost 4 days later. I have never experienced such tardiness from an airline. They have absolutely no sense of urgency. No feedback received, AVOID Delta.
