They expected us to place an order before they have done final measurements and then told us that the price may change after their final measurements. Company was rude and took offence that we were obtaining competitive quotes for a job. They told us directly that we were wasting their time by getting competitive quotes and that we should rather go with another company. So, my advice to the reader is to rather skip this company, follow the advice they give to potential clients, and go to their competition.

If you want to deal with an ********* business that makes up new terms and conditions as they go along then Endotruss in Alberton Gauteng is the place to go to. I had the worst experience with Endotruss and the director, Mr Johan Nel, left plenty to be desired. He was rude, over-talked me and very dishonest. I requested a roof quote from Endotruss who asked me to send them our architectural drawings which I sent to them. After two iterations of the quote, we came to an amount that we agreed on. I signed the acceptance contract and paid the required 60% deposit. They sent someone to the house a few days later to take some measurements then they came back with a revised quote which was almost 20% higher than the quote that I had accepted. I explained to them that this new amount is a lot higher than what I had budgeted and that I won’t be able to proceed. They agreed to give me back my deposit but it took them weeks to do so. There was a new excuse everyday about why the refund was delayed. When my frustration grew and I escalated the matter to Mr Nel, he argued and over-talked me. He said to me, “I shouldn’t actually give you your deposit back because other companies don’t do refunds but I’ll give you a refund and take a 15% handling fee”. Such a condition was not contained anywhere in the acceptance contract that I signed. A 15% handling fee or penalty for cancellation is a very material term in any contract which they should’ve stipulated upfront. When I finally received my refund, they had helped themselves to a R 7 000 “handling fee” for driving from Alberton to Sandton to measure once. The other three roof companies that provided me with quotations measured the house before quoting and none of them identified a discrepancy between the built house and the drawings that I furnished them with nor did they charge me for measuring the house. Had Endotruss charged a call-out fee upfront in order to come and measure the house then that would’ve been a fair request but instead they helped themselves to my money after changing the terms of the signed contract. Endotruss claimed that the reason for the revised quotation was that my house had been built a whopping 40m2 bigger than the plans. That is a blatant lie. Such a huge discrepancy in the house size couldn’t and didn’t happen. They are ********* and have handled this process poorly. I am referring this matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombudsman.

I have a bad taste in my mouth when thinking of Endo Truss. We recently build a garage and obtained an offer from Endo Truss. From the beginning I made it apparent to them that I am concerned about the connection between the exciting house and the new building. They assured me that it will not be a problem and they would be able to have a solution to it. Now after completion of the job the roof is not closed off where the two buildings meet, the roof is leaking thus I cannot install the ceilings. After numerous emails between myself and Mr. Johan Nell the owner I get no response, as he would like me to speak to the project manager Wouter, Wouter does not respond as well, and I still have the problem. This is now two months since they did the installation. Needless to say, that they do not deliver or work before full payment has been received. Fully paid and no joy.

I had the misfortune of contracting this company to erect a simple roof on my house. The job was done in a totally unprofessional manner, starting from a woeful lack of prior preparation, and ending in a roof which is not in alignment with the existing roof ie. it has been fitted skew! The job had to be patched and partially re-done several times, and ended with the owner offering a refund on the job which was, by his own admission, badly finished and poorly executed. Later, various excuses were offered, including that the walls on the house are out of alignment, accompanied by an abusive and threatening attitude from the owners. Avoid this company at all costs!

I recently had the misfortune to employ Endotruss to install a new roof on part of my house. The job was appallingly done - the roof was installed skew (at an angle to the existing roof), the ridge is wavy and not straight, and the roof is not level. These are just the worst of the problems. Altogether an unprofessional and shockingly poor job... If you are considering a new roof, take my advice and avoid this company completely - I have been through weeks of anguish, and am now left with a horrible compromise.
