FOTOTEC @ WATERCREST MALL - All I can say is DO NOT GO PRINT PHOTOS THERE. They ripping people off. Printing on normal hard paper charging an arm and a leg. Quality of photos is SHOCKING I am extremely disappointed and they don't care. Telling me it's photo paper. Making me think I'm stupid. I know hard paper compared to photo paper. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM. I am extremely disappointed and that's putting it nicely. Stay away from Fototec at Watercrest Mall. My experience there is nothing less than impressed.

Absolutely hurt and disappointed by the way I was treated today. Including being shouted at by different workers, trying to have me escorted by the Watercrest mall security and making up lies about me. All because I needed a refund for the battery they sold me less than ten minutes ago at that time, which didn't work. Even adding insults. I'm flabbergasted. I thank God almighty in heaven that I did not retaliate. I just prayed the whole time and called home. I can't believe how absolutely mean and loud they were. I don't even believe this is real 😢.

This place in cornubia is the worst, I've never seen or heard such ******* excuses for poor customer service and quality of product. They can not answer simple questions, the guy is like a mouse where the woman is dictating everything with no customer skills. I would never recommend, only thing I would recommend is the closure of this store. A simple print on a jersey done completely wrong, no remorse no compensation, even offered to bring a new jersey and they can cover the cost of the print, proceed to tell me it's not their fault nothing they can do. The machine does everything. But I write this to let people know never to use his place, ****mers!!!

I have had the most UNACCEPTABLY ********** service at this store today. This matter will be taking the legal route and therefore to summarise briefly : I have normally have printing done at a reputable store who would have charged me just over R300.00 in total for this print run. They are today unfortunately closed due to the public holiday. I asked for a TOTAL quote from the manager/ owner at Fototec and wrote down the amount of R400.00 As the printing paper was of a higher quality I was prepared to accept this - to print 15 pages for R400.00- slightly more than what we usually pay. I asked her to print 2 pages of designs so that I could check the quality. I was happy and said she could proceed. She then handed me the card machine with a total payable of R6000.00!!! R6000.00 !! I repeat - R6000.00 ! I yelled - stop the print run ! She responded - ' We can't ' - I yelled - : 'you have to - I cannot pay this ********** ******* amount ! They 'magically' stopped the machine on the 3rd print. I told her that I would pay the R400.00 ' total quoted ' - already WAY IN EXCESS OF WHAT I USUALLY PAY. She refused, and with the most appalling manner proceeded to call security - I had said that I would pay the R400.00 and furthermore provide her with my full details in order that we could resolve this legally. She humiliated me in the centre and after discussions with the security guard, who with all due respect, is not a lawyer- proceeded to tally up an invoice for black & white printing which had been done. I asked to see the breakdown on the slip before I made payment ,which she refused to do ! After insisting she did- there was an amount of R40.00 charged for ' Labour !' Upon asking her what that was for - she said that her staff member had - with a simple click of a mouse, deleted a blue line on the artwork. This charge was NOT quoted to me, and I would have left it as it was. Summary : I was ' forced ' to pay an amount of R 504.00 and left the shop with only 3 pages of black & white printing !!!!!! I supp**** my contact details as she threatened to take ' legal action.' I will now be taking this matter further - on Radio 702 with Wendy Nola Consumer Journalist as well as via the Small Claims Court. DO NOT USE THIS SHOP FOR ANYTHING !!!!!

Aweful experience at Fototec Watercrest Mall Waterfall: asked for I.D. photos for drivers, recieved some cardboard, draft quality prints for R80 each. Payed in advance, but upon receipt of ripoff and false 'photos' staff refused to reprint on photo paper and refused to reimburse, stating that they were not allowed to. Waited for almost half an hour for owner to get back to the staff member for approval to reimburse, but only after threats of contacting ombudsman and police. Staff failed to inform us of what they believe I.D. photos are, after claiming that they had never recieved a complaint and that that is how they do it, against country required standards. The term Photo is standard, verses a printed picture or image. They eventually reimbursed, but took back my and my husband cardboard 'photos', and refused to cut them up. Never been so upset in all my life. Went to Fotofirst in Hillcrest afterwards- professional, printed on photo paper to great quality and correct size and charged only R75, staff were well trained. Apparently this store in Waterfall is no longer Fototec, so they are running some illegal shenanigans and ripping people off- corrupt operation and contrary to customer rights and laws. I hope they do better in the future, unfortunately business like this make SA terrible.

Last week I went to Fototec in Watercrest Mall and asked for the price to scan a 20 page document onto a memory stick. I was quoted R4,00 per page. I queried this with the lady who served me and another lady sitting in the back of the store confirmed the price. I thought it rather pricey but because I needed it, I agreed. The first lady scanned the document and loaded it onto my stick, then the second lady came forward and they had a quiet conversation. I was then told the total price was R138.00 I was shocked to say the least! I queried the price and was told that the balance of R58.00 was for "Labour and consumables" I queried this again as the first lady stood for less than 5 minutes feeding the pages in. (where was the automatic document feeder??) I was shown a sign that read: "Artwork and collating will be charged for as an extra". There was NO artwork nor collating involved. I refused to pay the exorbitant amount and was told that as they work there, they would have to pay it into the till. I said they could take the document off my stick but I was told there was no refunds. I then went to another shop in the same centre who quoted me a total of R40 for the entire job. When I returned to Fototec, and told them the price the other store charged, the woman who had been sitting in the back told me that she would run her business any way she saw fit and I was to leave. So, it was a lie that they just worked there an would have to pay money into the till. I paid R100 which I still thought was far too high and left. I left a review on the Fototec Facebook page and that has not even been acknowledged.

I wish I could give negative stars. The owner is incredibly rude from the moment you step into the store. She has an attitude that's like "ugh, why should I help you". Then she'll make sure to charge you a stupid amount of money... I ordered a print on a Tuesday, was told it would be ready Friday. I called Friday and was told...Monday. so, I called Monday and the owner tells me Thursday... because SHE JUST FORGOT ABOUT MY ORDER COMPLETELY. she refuses to give a discount or a refund and I'm still waiting for my print. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!
