Gearbox Repairs
Gearbox Exchange in Johannesburg is one of the worst companies we ever dealt with. The staff is rude. They never quote before starting repairs. They tell you your vehicle is being stripped but they are still riding around in it. We got the vehicle back worst than it was when we send it there for repairs. Returned it again for repairs and got it back with the same problem. Told us according to Agents gearboxes on this model car (Ford Fiesta 2010) sounds like that. Bought the car brand new and been driving it for 9 years and it never sounded like it does since being to Gearbox Exchange. Not even worth one star. Service is terrible.

Gearbox exchange in Pretoria are useless!!!!!
Gearbox exchange repaired our gearbox in October and to date it is still not working. As a result of the gearbox problems it has ruined our brand new clutch and they refuse to replace it. Our car has not been on the road for 6 months now as a result of their poor workmanship, they have "repaired" it 3 times and it still does not work and the clutch is damaged. The gearbox is lying in Salt Rock now for weeks and they have not sent someone to collect it to fix it again. They are a bunch of thieves!!

Gearbox Exchange Centre Benoni
Be very very careful when going to gearbox exchange centre in Kempston Avenue Benoni. We took our bakkie there for a strip and quote on the gearbox. Got a call back from Tony the owner to say the vehicle was ready and the bill is R4400.00. When we queried as to why so much for a strip and quote, he told us, "sorry, he went to the doctor and when he got back his guys had done a full service on the gearbox, repaired the clutch and diff". Now we are expected to pay for something we did not ask for or authorise. He has our vehicle and in order to get it back, we have to pay. It has been my experience in business practice that when a company or workers in that company make an error, or cause damage, it is the company that picks up the bill, not the customer. This is very sad coming from a business that we have delt with for many many years, but wil never again.

Gearbox Exchange Centre Benoni

Gearbox Exchange are not client friendly, don't deliver on time and chase people away.
My car were at Gearbox Exchange for more than a week. When I were supposed to collect it they were not done and didn't inform me. Just wanted payment. Wich I did. After I've collected the car all the bolts were not tightened and there were bolts missing. My gears were not working correctly and when I brought the car back had 10000 stories. I've been waiting more than 2 hours and they constantly tell me 10 more minutes. In the 2 hours I've been sitting here there were another complaint and they chased a guy away because they don't inform the clients of a stripping fee, when he refused to pay they chased him away. When you try to talk to them they just say sorry they should have done it correctly but they didn't. Further more they just don't care. I am very dissatisfied with all the staff and owner/ manager of Gearbox Exchange.

Do Not Use Gearbox Exchange Pta West
My service was great until I had to fetch the car and was promised for a week that I will get it back by 15H00 on Friday, I had to follow up to get the car as I was not phoned to say they wont make the deadline, in the meantime I have already paid as I trusted the team, after raising the crisis as I need the car I was clearly told that they close at 15H00 and cannot open on Saturday or work later and therefore they just refused to assist, no effort was made by the staff or the owner as he is now away for the weekend, I even offered to help to get the vehicle finished, that is not service and how customers should be treated, they knew I need the car urgently and just backed out and doesn't even bother replying on my communication to them, they just ignore me. Think twice before considering in taking your vehicle there, trust is key in any transaction after promises is made that they cannot keep and then they just hide away.

Bad service and refusal to honner warranty
HI All I am writing this post and i hope it will not put a bad tast in many off your mouth but i have to name and shame a company: GearBox exchange!!!! I have recently paid them 43 000 to redo my gearbox over from start to finish, after 2000km the torq cobverter failed it took them 3 weeks to fix and was a fight to have it done unfder warranty......at 21 000km main seal came out while i was 4x4 on Coenie Bosman farm and they could not cover it and said it was to do miss use as i got mud on it......they wanted to charge 8000.00 i paid 4000.00 in the end and it still look them 2 weeks to see whats wrong and a further week to fix..... After driving 1000km my bakkie is out again and i am get to know whats wrong with it and they refuse to work on it and say its cause i abuse the Gearbox as there is mud on it...... They will take it to any off there competeters to work on but they are not prepaired to fix it At all.....

Gearbox guarantee service very bad.
Took ages to repair a gearbox then told lies. Now has a guarantee problem and they have had the car for 5 days . Haven't even looked at it after requesting it in Early on the Monday. Lied again every day and then put down the phone on us.Absolutely disgusting service. Said they would look at it Monday afternoon. Today is Thursday and have lied that they were busy with it every day. It has not even been checked!! Now put the phone down on us .

Gearbox guarantee service very bad.
Took ages to repair a gearbox then told lies. Now has a guarantee problem and they have had the car for 5 days . Haven't even looked at it after requesting it in Early on the Monday.
