Godaddy.com
Based on recent customer reviews, Godaddy.com is drawing sustained criticism from South African customers who describe a frustrating experience across domain management, hosting, and billing. A recurring theme is support agents lacking technical depth, with customers consistently mentioning circular escalations, repeated waiting periods, and unresolved domain or DNS issues. Reviewers also raise concerns about unauthorised renewals, delayed refunds, sudden price hikes at checkout, and difficulty cancelling products. Several customers feel that promised timelines repeatedly shift, leaving websites offline and small businesses without reliable resolution or accountability.

Very poor service from GoDaddy. I’ve been trying to resolve an issue that is seriously affecting my business, as I cannot use my domain or get my email working properly. Despite paying for these services, I have received little to no meaningful support or assistance from GoDaddy. The lack of communication and technical support has already caused financial loss to my business. Extremely disappointing experience overall. I would not recommend this company based on the level of service I’ve received.

After hours of back-and-forth on live chat, one thing is clear: GoDaddy’s support system isn’t built for technical issues. The process is circular. Chat agents act as a gatekeeping layer with little technical depth, routing queries instead of resolving them. Even after escalation, nothing improves: case notes aren’t properly reviewed, context gets lost, and you’re pushed straight back into the queue. The timelines are where it really falls apart. First it’s “give it 24 hours,” then 48, then 72. After that, it becomes “wait 7 days.” I followed every step. Today is day 8, and there’s still no resolution. At this point, it doesn’t feel like support, it feels like a system designed to delay rather than solve. My domain and email has not been set up 8 days after purchase.

After spending hours across multiple phone calls and live chat sessions, I can say with confidence: GoDaddy's support infrastructure is not equipped to handle technical problems. The support cycle is a trap. Chat agents have zero technical knowledge and serve only as a queue management layer. Escalating to "second line" phone support is no better -- agents rarely read case notes, you are routinely dropped back into the queue instead of being placed on hold, and every interaction starts from scratch. You will repeat yourself. Every. Single. Time. Their specialist teams are a fiction. I was eventually escalated to the ccTLD team for a domain issue. The issue is routinely closed with no action. They provided no resolution and took no ownership. The actual problem is straightforward: A nameserver update was submitted before the authoritative nameservers were live, leaving the domain in a broken state. The TLD registry record was not updated, and GoDaddy refuses to force a re-propagation or correct the delegation. They choose not to listen or trouble shoot. The result: A domain that is completely non-functional, and a support organisation that has demonstrated it cannot resolve basic DNS delegation issues. If you are a business relying on GoDaddy for domain management, understand this: when something goes wrong, you are on your own. There is no support.

They don't know how to handle customers. I asked Sanket J to help me transfer my domain to another host. I took the an hour trying to explain why I'm doing this but invain. I ended up telling Sanket J that I'm going to escalate this. The other took over and said it's been transferred but today the other one checked and said it can only be moved after the 15th of April

Do not purchase the Airo AI Website Builder - you can build it, but the actual website does not work, even on their own domain! Almost all of the agents have little to NO product knowledge on how it works, so calls are conveniently "disconnected" when you have an issue. My advice - don't even waste your time trying - you'll get different information from agent to agent, all costing you energy AND money! Not worth it!

Bought a domain name from them, still have not gotten a confirmation email, or a way of linking it to my hosting, price went up for hosting it was R200 for a a year then changed to R1500 overnight, would not recommend them if you want to save time, bit of a dog show.

Don't use this site. NO MATTER WHAT?!?!? They exploit customers especially small business owners by: 1. Products not working and being advised to keep buying upgrades. 2. Discounted amounts are hiked at checkout. 3. Useless 'development' team. 4. When products don't work and have been flagged multiple times they don't even offer a refund for having wasted your time! This company needs to be closed tomorrow for outright *****!
