I received abysmal service and customer care from the Harrington's Dry Cleaner outlet at Pick n Pay in Constantia Village. I trusted them with my bedding only to have the two @Home pillows returned with condensation on the inside of the plastic bag and the pillows covered in mold or mildew black stains. THIS COMPANY IS CERTAINLY REMOVING CRITICAL PROCESSES IN THEIR CLEANING TO REDUCE THEIR COSTS. After nearly three months and the pillows many returns to the cleaner and with the pillows still showing stains, I requested a refund of the cleaning fee and two new pillows. The lady behind the counter actually laughed at me. I explained that although most of the stains had been removed, what about the pillow inner? Surely the mildew/mold would be on the foam? And we sleep on these pillows! I asked for the number of the owner – Harold Cohen – whom I called. My call was not answered and I left a message. He certainly did receive my message, but did not call me back, but instead, I received a abrupt message to collect my pillows. I took them with hesitancy and they have been in my spare room – with no one sleeping on them – and they are smelly and actually smell like some else's house. I would not be surprised if Mr. Cohen had the store assistant take them home in a bid to further save costs. These pillows are unfortunately headed for the dump and I am out of pocket for the cost of the cleaning and now have to purchase two new pillows. I will never use Harrington's Dry Cleaners again

If there was zero or negative review, I would give the worst. I sent in a pair of very expensive imported dress shorts to very dry-cleaned. They were white with no stains. They are now a ver dirty cream colour, with new stains and rust marks and the belt is damaged. This is the most appalling dry cleaners I have ever been to. In future I will take all my dry-cleaning overseas. How sad that this is all there is to offer in South Africa. Do not go near this company if you treasure your clothes. I also have the shorts in a different size and it is easy to compare and prove my point

Do not use Harringtons. They ruined a two week old Hertex cushion cover - it came back with brown marks on it and threads that had been pulled out. The owner, Harold Cohen, did not call me despite me requesting that he do so and when I finally got hold of him he was rude and told me it was my problem. Shocking service.

I dropped off curtains that are not even a year old with Pinelands Harringtons to be dyed. A week later went to fetch them got home to find them damaged. Went straight back, goods were sent away for assessment. Only to told they are old curtains and there is nothing they can. Won't refund or replace, its my problem not theirs. Ive asked for the owner to call me and I get no response. Will be taking this to consumer act. Don't do busy with Harringtons dry cleaners, they only care about the money, not customer service.

<p>I had a terrible experience at the Rondebosch branch of Harrington's dry cleaner. Firstly I dropped my suit off at the Claremont branch and was promised it was going to be ready the following day.</p> <p>When I came to pick it up it wasn't there, I was told it was still at the Rondebosch branch as the Claremont is only a drop-off point. I asked them to call the other branch to ask if it was ready. They did and I was told it was ready and the quickest would be for me to go fetch it in Rondebosch.</p> <p>At this point I was already annoyed as I was leaving for a wedding the same day and didn't have time to waste.</p> <p>When I get to Rondebosch they tell me that they've sent it to Claremont already. I ask them to call the driver and tell him to turn around so I can get my suit asap. They did but when the suit finally arrives the stains I specifically asked them to remove are still visible.</p> <p>I kept my cool and just ask them to please try and remove the stains so I can get going.</p> <p>Instead of removing the stains they instead scrub the suit so hard that they make it even worse and leave a big discolored patch on the chest.</p> <p>I'm now furious and ask the lady who's in charge to give me my money back as they've clearly not done what I asked them to do but instead left me in a worse situation on top of the fact that I'm now running late.</p> <p>They refuse to refund me and keep telling me I have to go back to Claremont to ask for a refund. This is, of course, a ridiculous thing to ask as it is the same company and they could've just refunded me and I would've been on my way. I would've still never used their services again, but at least I wouldn't sit here and write this review.</p> <p>I have never experienced such bad service before. And I've worked the hospitality industry for 15 years so I've seen a thing or two.</p> <p>So think again before using Harrington's dry cleaner.</p>
