Date of Visit: Friday, 24 October 2025 • I visited The Heat Grill in Woodlands, Pretoria, on 24 October 2025 to celebrate my birthday with my mother, daughter, and best friend. We ordered a bottle of Durbanville Sparkling Rosé. The waitress showed me the bottle on my request, as she mentioned it was sweet, which it is not. We decided to proceed with the order. • She took the bottle to the kitchen to open it and returned with it already opened, then poured full glasses for us. I politely explained that sparkling wine should be served ice-cold and opened at the table, and that glasses should not be filled to the brim. I thought the exchange ended amicably. • Shortly after, we ordered shots of Jägermeister. When the waitress and two others brought the shots, they appeared to be laughing as they served them. I drank my shot — and that is the last thing I remember. My daughter and friend remembers the Waitress saying “I’ve succeeded” • According to my daughter and friend, who were with me, I became disoriented, unresponsive, and eventually completely paralyzed before I could eat my meal. They initially thought I was intoxicated, but my condition worsened rapidly. The waitress later brought a wheelchair and assisted in taking me out of the restaurant. • I woke up in my bed eight hours later with complete memory loss. The following day, I went to Lancet Laboratories, where a urine drug test came back positive for opiates. I am on no medication and have never taken any form of drugs in my life. • This incident could have been life-threatening if I had any underlying medical condition or if I had been on medication. My daughter and friend both confirm that my pupils were dilated, my lips were blue, and my skin was cold and clammy — symptoms not consistent with alcohol consumption. • I am deeply disturbed and believe my drink was spiked. I am prepared to pay for a lie detector test for the Waitress named Julilee, and will be contacting a private investigator, such as Mike Bolhuis, to look into the matter, also requesting CCTV footage.

I had an amazing experience. I made a reservation with special requests in which they followed out to perfection and more. The restaurant is esthetically pleasing with beautiful views all around. The food is spectacular anf priced reasonably. The service is excellent with welcoming staff.

Heat offers an intimate and romantic ambiance. (Environment, service and food excellent) with special offers each day. White linen table covers and crystal glasses. My wife and I have been going there for years since 2005 when it opened its doors and have never left disappointed. And a reasonable corkage fee.

We have never been disappointed at Heat Grill Room, Woodlands. The stylish yet cosy table settings for 2, great food, attention to detail and excellent service by friendly and helpful waiters, is a great experience every time. Even when we go there as a family, we always have a fabulous time.

Booked a booth and when we arrived no booths were available. Even though a booth was confirmed and they were informed it was for a special occasion. The waiter delivered the incorrect veggies to one of the meals. The meals were below par - the steaks and fish dishes were not as well prepared as we remembered in previous visits. Just overall a less than pleasurable experience.

The selection, presentation, and quality of the meals served at the Heat Grill Room cannot be equaled in the Woodlands Mall. Unfortunately, the kitchen believes their persistent ringing of a bell to call the waiters back to present their meals should be music to the ear. It is not. Try and sit outside.
