A 1 Star is not even equivalent to the atrocious service Hibiscus Private Hospital Port Shepstone has; the staff is HIGHLY unprofessional and condescending...if you individually studied and took an oath to serve and save lives then kindly do YOUR job!!! Not only do they cut your calls when enquiring over patients, but the very same patients are treated like trash as if they're visiting for aesthetics and not actually sick and needing URGENT medical attention. This isn't the 1st incident, currently my mom is a patient there since early Sat morning, and still with no diagnosis and to make matters worse, the so-called Nephrologists who's meant to attend to her did not even acknowledge her yesterday evening, after being "called" numerous times to come do his actual job since Sunday...he casually rocked up at 16:35 and ignored her and walked off!!! No introductions, no words exchanged, just a NASTY ATTITUDE and UNPROFFESSIONALISM from someone who vowed to save lives...how dare you do that when someone is sickly, and you have no idea of the seriousness of their illness because YOU HAVEN'T attempted to find out???? If you can't do your jobs; refer the cases to someone who does or better yet, move the patient to a better serving hospital because you're failing DISMALLY.

What an appalling behavior from Nurse Qwabe and Dr Hlatswayo in Casualty, Hibiscus Private Hospital in Cato Ridge! Why would a nurse gossip and state that my daughter isn't ill we just there to waste time waste her time cause she's tired and wants to drink tea and laze around! She couldn't even insert a drip she had to ask another nurse, I was told to fetch a knee brace, when I went to fetch it she just looked at me! Nurse Duma was consistent and very kind to help and guide with the brace meanwhile this Nurse Qwabe was "busy". Why are you dealing with patients when you don't have the heart for it? I mean people come there because they are SICK! Not to waste time or have time to go visit a hospital randomly! So the calling Dr was Dr Hlatswayo, I dont even know where to start! He had said he liased with the Orthopedic Dr and made an appointment for Tuesday, where? Only he knows whom he had called cause there was no appointment made! What an appalling behavior definitely would never recommend this hospital to anyone! I thank Nurse Duma at Casualty otherwise maybe my daughter would have died even of pain because of *********** individuals who are clearly there to waste time!

Incredible service at their maternity ward... totally recommend it for the soon to be mothers. Pregnancy is a beautiful yet difficult journey... But Dr C Maistry and the nurses at this hospital made it seem like a breeze, awesome human beings. If anyone is looking for an ObyGyn in the south coast, check out Dr C Maistry... You won't regret it😊

Standard have decreased in this hospital. Toilets dont seem to be cleaned properly(Cleaners are not provide with cleaning resouces not even a bleach). Some of the nurses provide conflicting advices. Yhoooo hunger in this hospital, public hospitals are so much better. They don’t even provide fruits, juice let alone water. Im never going back there or else Ill did because of hunger.

A most unprofessional terrible hospital will never advise anyone to go there. My husband had to go there for an emergency and they did nothing for him except to call me at 10.30 at night to collect him after being there for a couple of hours. They charged ridiculous amounts which we paid cash for and then still tried to claim the charges back from our medical aid. Staff were rude and had no patience.

My mom who's now deceased was admitted here for 7 days in July 2020. She passed away on day 7. When we went to collect her belongings, her cellphone and her wedding ring were missing from her belongings. We have followed up with the hospital including speaking to the HOD for the respective ward, and they confirmed they could not locate these items. The staff at this hospital stole mommy's cellphone and ring. To-date, we have NOT received these back. Don't send your relatives here, they even steal belongings of the DECEASED. APPALLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stayed at the medical ward for a couple of days. My bedding was not changed I had to ask and shout for it to get changed, I was alone in the ward no-one came to check on me unless it was food delivery or change for nurses shifts. Food was beyond horrible. The nurses had so much attitude facially around the hospital. I am never staying here again I wish no medical aid has to pay for such an awful stay. My aunt also stayed there for a couple of months as she was critically ill but even then the service in the wards was horrible. I was better when she was in ICU. Go to another hospital if you can

My recent experiences at Hibiscus Private Hospital have always been good. Their friendliness, neatness and compassion is hard to match. (I've been around so I've seen a few) Hope it stays that way.
