0/5 would not recommend. Putrid service, shoddy work. Ten to fifteen working days turned into FIFTY FOUR working days. Our couches – one large three seater and two wingback chairs – were collected on 01/03/2022. We had met with sales agent Liezel the day before and she confirmed a 10 to 15 working day turnaround time. She gave us her cell number and said to contact her directly, as the shop number was not working. Counting down working days, skipping over the public holidays in between, we started following up. I was able to get hold of her telephonically twice – once she was not yet at work (09:30) and promised to phone me back when she gets there and follows up, the second she was at the dentist and promised to phone me back once she has followed up. On 16/03, two days after the first call she replied via WhatsApp (after I tried phoning and she did not pick up), she said couches will be done end of the following week (+/- 25/03). I realised I would have to follow up via WhatsApp as she would deliberately dodge calls/not answer and not phone back – I would phone when I see she’s online, she does not answer. On 24/03 I asked for an update again. She was at the dentist and would let me know later. She did not. On 25/03, the day we thought we would get the couches, she sent a message saying they are still busy and will be done “in next week”. On 28/03 I asked again, she read my message, she was online throughout the day, but she never replied. We found a number for the shop and the number worked! My fiancé went down to the shop and spoke to the owner, Moosa, in person who said he doesn’t know why she promised the couches on the Friday (25/03), because they only received the material on the Thursday (24/03)!!? We stopped trying to contact Liezel and dealt directly with Moosa. It was not much better. He promised the large couch would be delivered by Tuesday 05/04. It was not delivered. It was eventually delivered on 14/04, 31 working days later, excluding public holidays and we still needed two more chairs. I took over following up with Moosa when my fiancé left for work abroad. On 26/04 I asked for an update, because they will not update you themselves. They were waiting for material, again/still and it will take another 10 to 14 working days. On Tuesday 17/05 I asked for an update and told him that it will be 14 working days on Thursday 19/05. He said they will be ready for delivery on the Thursday – exactly 14 working days. On Thursday I asked for delivery time. They could not deliver because of the rain – the rain stopped and sky cleared around lunch time – and I was told “probably tomorrow or Saturday depending on weather”. I got the delivery on Saturday 21/05, 54 working days, excluding public holidays, after they were collected with an original turnaround time of 10 to 15 working days for everything. We would’ve 100% understood if they didn’t have material and that was causing the wait, but we were never informed. Calls were dodged; impossible promises were made and not kept. Large couch looks embarrassingly bad. We are now covering it with a quilt.

I visited Hilite Bellville store on Saturday 20th Nov 2021. I needed pillows made, re-upholstered for 2 cane chairs. The salesperson I dealt with was Liezel. She gave me a quote for R1710. I paid a deposit of R1000. My invoice number is 62429. She promised their driver would fetch the cane chair on the Tueaday, for the measurements. No one came to fetch the chair. I made contact with Liezel on 1st Dec 2021. She promised their driver would fetch the chair. No one came. I went back to the store on the 13th Dec 2021 and spoke to Liezel. She promised someone would fetch the chair the following day. On the 15th Dec 2021 I made contact with Liezel to tell her that they still did not fetch the chairs. She did not reply to my message. On the 18 Dec 2021, I went back to the store. Liezel wasnt there and I spoke to Adenaan. I told him I was unhappy and I need the chairs for Christmas. He tried to assist and sent a driver to fetch the chair. He promised the pillows would be ready before Christmas. On the 23rd Dec 2021 I went back to the store to pay the balance of R710 and to confirm if my pillows would be delivered before Christmas. I spoke to Adenaan and he promised me it would be. Christmas came and went, I did not receive my pillows. I tried to phone the week after Christmas. They did not answer their phone. I tried to phone after New year, they did not answer their phone. Today is 4 Jan 2022, I did not receive my pillows and I did not hear anything from them. The numbers I phoned was: 021 949 0496 078 3656378 Unhappy client

I have ordered cirtains from Hilite. We paid the deposit as required and said it will take 10 to 15 working days for the curtains to be made. As I phoned after 10 days to inquire re installatiin of curtains, I was told that some of the material is out of stock, and it will only arrive end of month. Then the curtains still need to be made! They never contacted me or informed me abput this. We needed the curtains ASAP because we werw moving into a new place. We are sitting at almost 20 working days without any curtains. Also, you try in vain to get a response or get the phones answered. I am so very disappointed!!
