On the 24 May we visited the Hussar Grill Franschoek and what an absolute disappointment! We have eaten at Hussar grill Grandwest on an almost weekly basis and we love their food & service so much! But this branch is just pathetic my husband ordered a 800gram ribs and was served off meat, he then got food poisoning and was told you can have a “cheesecake” in return. Now I don’t care about anything free but the lack of empathy from the store is just Pathetic. We escalated the matter to Hussar group and in turn we were told we must drive from Mitchell’s plain to Franschoek for a “date night special” which doesn’t even cost a quarter of our bill and will cost us just to get a lousy apology meal. I am beyond livid with the entire restaurants lack of empathy. I had to pay for a Drs visit because they can’t check quality of their food, they now can’t even assist me at a store close or even provide a proper apology? Don’t visit this store!

If you're looking for an intimate dinner with incredible food and staff that is great value for money..this is the place. We went for date night. The set menu offers a choice between starters/main/dessert, with a bottle of wine thrown in. I had the most delicious tender fried calamari, followed by a mouthwatering sirloin steak and chips, and topped off with a creme brulee. Oh my heaven!

I ordered a take awy Filiet on the bone on 20 September 2022. When opening the meal at home the meat was off. I contacted Patrick the manager who apologised and asked to bring it back for a full refund. I took it back on 21 September and was informed the manager was not in and that i must leave my contact details to be contacted. That was wednesday. i called on the friday and was told he is not in but Colin was the manager that day. I was informed that he has my details and will sort it out with the owners. I had to follow up again days later and was told to send my banking details for a refund. This was done on 27 September . I have had no acknowledgement of receipt of my email and no contact. It would seem that they are not interested in customer service especially due to the fact that they seem no t o care that all know that the meat they sold was off (rotten) and it seems they do not care who knows about it. I will definitely not supprt them again. But maybe they have a captive (uninlighted market as they are part of the hotel)

I bought a coupon from Wikideals for 2 people for R299. It was for a starter and the main was a choice of steak with a choice of veg. I made the booking and mentioned I had a voucher and would there be a corkage charge which I was informed there would not be. When we arrived we were told that there would be a corkage charge of R60 because we were making use of a voucher. I explained that I had enquired about the corkage but I also knew that Hussars do not charge corkage at all. The manager never came near our table but told waiter to waver the R60. This did not sit well with my husband! The starter we couldn't fault but the steak was sirloin which we ordered medium rare and mine was full of sinue and my husband's sirloin was still mooing and cold. There was no sign of the sauce that is in the advert. We left after paying the waiter a tip and the R60 corkage and we had another voucher which we also gave him as we will not go to that particular Hussars again. Because you have a voucher do not treat people as if they are cheap skates. We regularilly go to Hussars in Willowbridge and have no problem at all with their food. This establishment needs to take the vouchers off Wikideals.
