After a long search for a couples' spa session to treat my husband for our 21st wedding anniversary, Intundla Game Lodge and Bush Spa came to the rescue on short notice with an opening for our selected date being over a peak weekend. However, my excitement quickly turned to frustration due to poor communication and a lack of attention to detail. I requested the info sheet via email and didn’t receive it by the same afternoon in order to choose my treatment and finalise the reservation, so I followed up first thing the next morning. I received confirmation for the timeslot and was asked if I would pay upon arrival, which I agreed to. Later that day, I finally received the info I requested, only to get a call shortly after to say there was a mistake with my booking. They had accidentally double-booked the timeslot, with another guest who had already paid for the session. At no point was I offered the option to secure my booking with upfront payment, which I would have done immediately. Both the client liaison officer and her senior gave me nothing but excuses and apologies. Apparently, the initial e-mail never came through due to an incorrect e-mail address, and there was a clear lack of communication within the team. Despite confirming the time with me, it seems no one bothered to check availability. It’s clear they’re more focused on quantity than quality, with little regard for customer service. If this is how the spa operates, I can only imagine the level of service at the rest of the lodge, and I would rather stay away completely. Incompetence at its finest—this situation left me with no spa options to treat my husband, ruining our special celebration. I sincerely hope they implement better systems and training to ensure this doesn’t happen to others in the future.

I’m very disappointed with the bookings department, I’ve been communicating with them since the 26th of January with no success for a booking, today they called me and tell me sorry we are fully booked 😡😡no accountability whatsoever not even a solution I had to ask if they have another option. My friends and I where really looking forward to this weekend away 😒

I've had the worst experience with this service provider. On February 13th I requested a quote for a two night stay and received an invoice the very next day quoting me for the proposed stay... the invoice has a disclaimer that says that you ought to call before making payment I did so on the 25th of February and I confirmed with Vimbai that the invoice was still valid and I could proceed with full payment on the 25th hours into my arrival I received a frantic call that my 2 year old was rushed to the hospital for medical assistance, I couldn't just sit in at a leisure facility while she was at a hospital and decided to make the 2 hour drive back home, when I got to the gate just before midnight I learnt their security knocks off at 10pm and had to wait an additional 40mins for assistance. I called the very next day before 9am to advise I had to check out due to unforeseen circumstances. I proceeded to ask for a refund for the last night that I had not stayed and special dinner i asked for it would be a week before I'd get feedback that they would rather credit me for the night i didn't stay plus the dinner. Show me a parent who'd rather sip ****tails at a lodge with a sick child at home. I expressed I'd rather use the money for much needed medication but to them my money and playing "God" is more important. The manager advised they were fully booked but every second room was vacant and how do you turn people away when I had only enquired and didn't even confirm until the 25th... So my unpleasant experience is to them "speaking bad of them wherever I can". Although I will recover my money I urge everyone to take reviews seriously there's truth in every experience.

My family rooms got broken into while we were at their entertainment area. All of our possessions were stolen and for months we were strung along, making us write down all the stuff stolen and their values saying they will claim from their insurance. They did not give us a cent not even a refund, now changing their narrative saying we signed an indemnity form. My family still today is traumatised, we even slept on the crime scene, the very same rooms that were broken into. Be very careful when going there, don’t leave any valuables in your rooms and keep the car keys with you all the time.

A tremendous, heartfelt THANK YOU from all of us at Mensa SA, who attended the National Gathering, and in particular the Pretoria Committee, who had the honour of working with you on this event.

I have seldom come across a team of dedicated, service-driven, friendly personnel such as yours. They are competent, efficient, friendly and an absolute pleasure to work with. We were blown away by your great service, and will forever be grateful for that.

Your venue was absolutely gorgeous. I even had two guests comment that they were considering having their next team building conferences at Intundla, because they fell in love with the place.

Thank you for the stunning accommodation, the wonderful treats and eats from your Magic Kitchen and for the effort you put into dressing up the Hippo Hall for our Western-themed dinner. It was stunning and helped turn this event into one of the most successful AGM's we have ever had. (Cowboy) Hats off to you!

Thank you for the friendly way in which you have accommodated our various requests and for letting everything run so smoothly.

I will definitely recommend your venue and your team to any and everybody I come across. You guys are the absolute best.

Thank you very much, from the bottom of our hearts.

Kind regards

Beverley and the Mensa Pretoria Committee

My husband and I decided to make use of the special Intundla was running on Heritage day to stay over at the lodge and to go for a massage the next day. The place was wonderful. Dinner was very delicious and the staff are friendly and humourous. The next morning we were met with another amazing meal. We even decided to go rowing on their dam - how relaxing and fun! Before our treatment we relaxed at the spa underneath their gazebo looking out unto the dam. The massage itself was very relaxing and the staff friendly and good at what they do. Definitely recommend this for a quick weekend break away.
