Jobleads
Based on recent customer reviews, Jobleads is drawing overwhelmingly negative feedback from South African job seekers who feel misled by the billing structure. Customers consistently mention signing up for a low-cost trial only to be unexpectedly debited a much larger premium subscription fee, often without a clear reminder. A recurring theme is difficulty cancelling, with users reporting continued deductions even after confirmation of cancellation. Many also describe the job listings as recycled from other platforms, unhelpful for their search, and locked behind further paywalls, leaving vulnerable, unemployed users feeling financially exploited.

Since January 2026, JobLeads has been deducting R679 per month from my bank account via an unauthorised subscription without my knowledge or consent. I did not sign up for a premium subscription, I did not authorise any charges, and I was never notified of any fees. My email address on the account was never even verified, meaning I could not have received any subscription or renewal notifications. Invoices were not sent to me — they were only visible by logging into the website. I only discovered these unauthorised subscription charges after enabling notifications on my banking app. Upon contacting JobLeads, they acknowledged the charges but refused to issue a full refund, offering only 50% of the most recent month as a "goodwill gesture." Their own Terms and Conditions require a contract confirmation email to be sent to customers — which I never received. Despite pointing this out, they maintained their position. I have now escalated this matter to ABSA to dispute the charges as unauthorised, and have lodged a formal complaint with the National Consumer Commission for potential violations of the Consumer Protection Act. I would caution any South African consumer to be extremely careful when signing up to JobLeads, and to monitor their bank accounts closely for unexpected charges.

I had a very disappointing experience with Jobleads. I initially signed up for what appeared to be a simple CV upgrade service for R49. However, at the end of the month, I was unexpectedly charged R645. I immediately reported the transaction to my bank. Jobleads responded by claiming I had not cancelled within the 14-day trial period. Despite this, they sent me an email confirming that my subscription had been cancelled. To my surprise, in April I was charged twice (R169 each), even after receiving confirmation of cancellation in March. I reported these transactions to Capitec Bank, and they advised me to cancel my card and get a new one—which I did. Unfortunately, the deductions continued. Another R169 was taken on 25 April, and again on 4 May 2026. I have sent multiple emails to Jobleads, and each time they confirm cancellation, yet the charges persist. This has been extremely frustrating and concerning. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution others to be very careful when dealing with Jobleads.

After trying to assist my Graduated daughter find employment, I saw a potential lead on Jobleads. I went in on the add and app**** and was asked to make what I thought was a once off R49.00 in order to apply. To my suprise a month later and a further R679 GETS DEDUCTED FROM MY ACCOUNT ! Yes, I understand that I should have read the fine print, yes, I know I'm an idiot but people are desperate for jobs and that is exactly what Jobleads is preying on. Desperation is no excuse however what gets me is that people looking for a job are UNEMPLOYED so where do they get the R679a month for a "subscription " And if one is lucky enough to find employment ( no thanks to Jobleads ) why would they want to continue subscribing. Makes no scense and if anyone has an idea on how to stop the subscription please let me know .

I was also rather surprised, as many other reviewers, when the notification for the heavily inflated auto-review subscription fee came through on my banking app. Grateful that I’ve used a once-off virtual card to make the payment for the trial. There has been countless attempts from them since to debit my account - despite numerous support tickets raised to advise that their attempt to renew my subscription was firstly premature, that I don’t wish to use their services, and that I’d like to have my profile permanently deleted. Suspicious service shortcomings: - No bespoke feedback to date on any of my support tickets regarding suspension of membership; - Empty promises: Many times been prompted to upload my CV for a free review and advice; never received such - appears to be a ploy to fish for details; - The so called job search advice was a very long write up, seemingly AI generated based on a few questions initially answered at sign-up; - An insane amount of emails flooding your inbox daily with possible jobs and headhunter suggestions - thus no real value add in terms of a tailored/curated list of opportunities based on experience and background. I would not recommend going near their website!

I am so angry. I went onto Jobleads thinking I’d get the assistance I need to elevate my career. Subscribed to your services for an amount of R49 per month, but you guys debited x15 that amount at one go. Now I’m here stranded.
