Worst food and service at Julios on the Bay. 1st: Service is pathetic , cutlery damaged and given to customers. 2nd: Shortage of food , half the meals on menu is unavailable. Excuses are listed has a Number 1 from this place. I don't recommend this restaurant to any customers.

I waited over 60 mins for a meal. Meal arrived burnt and without my water that was requested. Management took forever to assist. Other family members also ate burnt food. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!!

Truely pathetic! Certainly will not recommend this meal for a family...maybe considered as a meal for 2. Made a take away purchase today. I was unable to make a card payment as their machine was apparently offline...only 1 speed point??? Got home with food to find the garlic rolls blackened(worst than burnt), I actually counted the number of chips which was 12. The chicken of 8 pieces was even more questionable the drumstick was the size of my thumb...so clearly buying a rotisserie chicken from a your Pick & Pay, Checkers or Spar would have been a better deal. The portion of rice & prawns also disappointing. All in all...don't be fooled by their advertising. Julios, you were a disappointment on my very first visit years ago, needless to say nothing has changed! I guess you are far worse currently. Patrons do yourself a favor & go next door to Mozambik...definitely better quality & value for money.

Visited Julios this week and had the most incredible experience. I unfortunately had to send my food back due to a small issue, the manager Shaun and waiter Msizi were phenomenal in how they handled the situation which more than compensated for the error. The food that did come was delicious and I will continue to go back.

I visited your restaurant on Sunday(14/02/21) with my family for the first time. However I'm extremely disappointed at the service we received. Besides waiting for a very long time to be seated, we weren't greeted nor were we welcomed at your restaurant. Many customers that were both in the line and seated were complaining about the service. After waiting about an hour we literally had to seat ourselves, go fetch our own menus, go to the till point to find a waitress to clean our table and we also had to go back to the till point to actually place an order. However I must applaud Thembi for trying her best to assist us, even though management should have gotten more staff to help out. At one point I even saw a waitress crying, but I can only imagine the stress they must have been under. Considering it was a special occasion and many people visited your restaurant you should have been honored that people chose *Julios on the bay* but instead we were treated as if we were doing you a favor. There was NO manager, the restaurant was understaffed. At one point the gentleman who was doing repairs assisted some customers. I even at one point saw the chef come out and clean tables. Besides the terrible service, your restaurant lacked any sort of covid protocol, the floors were extremely dirty and it did not look presentable at all. I'm extremely disappointed at the overall experience upon my first visit.

31 Jan 2021 - I believe the store is under new management because this has never happened before in all my years of going there. The place seemed full so I waited for a staff member to take my name or arrange a table because I was really craving their food. I waited 20mins at the entrance. 2 waiters walked past me, I even said "Hello" to get their attention but no response. They pretended that I was invisible. I waved down another waiter. Still nothing. I eventually walked away feeling very disappointed. The previous owner would have went to any customer waiting for a table.

On 19 Feb I had lunch with a friend at Julios, their R99-00 prawn special was delicious, my choice of 1/2 rice and 1/2 chips filled the plate and I left very satisfied. The complimentary Portuguese roll and sauce was fresh and tasty, and the service from the waitron, Angel, was friendly and efficient. I returned on 26 Feb, with another friend and decided to have dinner, consisting of the same choice as before, for the above reasons. Our waitron was Rajen, who was very pleasant up to the point of payment, I guess his tip of 11% of the bill amount was not enough? The prawns were not as tasty as the previous visit's, the rice was not fully cooked, and the portion size of 1/2 rice and 1/2 chips made the plate look as if something was missing. We also did not receive the rolls and peri-peri spread, and there were no condiments presented. When I drew the managers attention to the rolls and small portions, he only commented that it was because of my choice of 1/2's, and did not mention that they were out of rolls. He offered me more chips which I declined, accepting explanation. Being hungry I only realised that something was amiss with the 1/2 cooked rice, and called Rajen to complain. He then went to the manager, and returned with a plate of chips, enough for my friend and I to share after the meal. Perhaps this is the reason that Julios seems busier during the day than at night, I definitely will not be going back there for dinner any time soon. The lady at the bar seems very unhappy too, one never sees her smile....

<p>this is the first time i am writing a review as i feel this needs to be put out there, yesterday we visited the Julios on the bay and were seated very quickly, even had a gas heater brought to the table, we even made jokes about this space age heater thingy. all was nice until the food came, we ordered GRILLED prawns half veg & half chips, they even put extra chips is as it looked few, on eating them as sure as daylight they tasted BOILED not GRILLED as we asked for, we called the waiter and she called the owner and he was as rude as hell argueing they are GRILLED not BOILED there was sauce everywhere, this sauce you dont get when prawns are GRILLED, he started getting stroppy and saying he has sold so many kg of prawns and no -one has complained, we retaliated getting frustrated and it started turning nasty, this was so not needed..very angry, WONT ever refer anyone or even go back there, we were told to pay for our drinks and leave ***?????</p>
