Received a Sweet Life week-end gift experience to this guest lodge in Harties, which included dinner, bed and breakfast for 2 nights, a boat cruise and wine, flowers and aromatherapy basket in the room. The staff were very friendly and hospitable which was the only good thing about the experience. Had a honeymoon suite downstairs which was hot and stuffy and the aircon didn’t work. The room smelled musty and there was mould in the ceiling. Also, there were no windows to open for fresh air. The dingy little outdated bathroom was utterly disgusting with mould on the shower tiles and ceiling, had to shower with flipflops on. Also, there was no wine, flowers or aromatherapy basket in the room, even though it was paid for in the voucher. Also we found out that dinner was no longer being served, which I received a refund for from the company that sold the voucher. The lodge offered no refund or substitute for all the things that were paid for in the voucher that I did not receive ie. wine, flowers and aromatherapy basket. This place was a huge disappointment and daylight ******* for the price paid for the horrible experience.

Upon Arrival the General Manager escorted us to the Reception, where 2 friendly ladies welcomed us with such warmness, even presented us with a welcoming drink, Italian, strange but not as the norm, very VERY REFRESHING. Then we were showed to our room by the receptionist, who explained where what can be found. Looking from our bed over the dam made me feel like we are not in SA anymore. The jacuzzi bath with all the aromatherapy basket was a new thing for me to enjoy but to the FULLEST. lovely fresh flowers in a vase, beautiful view, and then we had to go to dinner, what a lovely atmosphere Pinky and Phineas gave us. All talkative explaining what is happening around Harties etc. Then we went on their Cruise (Harties boat company) which I though was different companies, but to my surprise was the same. It was so amazing, full captain uniform, welcome drinks lovely breakfast compilation of snacks that was served. Waiters five you the Boat feeling and we were enjoying it like crazy and met new friends. KEEP IT UP, we will definitely market you where we go.. Thank you for a lovely experience.

Horrible Experience! I would not recommend this place to anyone! A complete rip off! They charge ridiculous rates for outdated, dirty rooms. Bathroom had mould. Linen was dirty. Meals are bland and portions are tiny. I actually left at 7pm that night because I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping in such an unpresentable room, my son refused to used the toilet. I wasn’t willing to shower under a ceiling full of mould. I asked for a refund as I had a death in the family prior to my stay, Jaco(manager) refused point blank and kept encouraging me to come back to try to redeem themselves. I paid R2780 for the night. I didn’t attend the boat cruise, I didn’t stay the night and i didn’t have breakfast and they refused to refund a cent of my money. Disgusting, unprofessional service! I will never recommend to anyone!

Do not book this place ever!!! There is no electricity, false advertising, and the owners Natasja and Deon Mostert cannot be found. They steal from their guests, Natasha Mostert does not return any phone calls or messages or whatsapps!! This place is a disgrace!!!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at La Dolce Vita for our anniversary and unfortunately we were extremely disappointed and actually wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially room 6. When we arrived and were shown to our room we found that there was a stain on the duvet and and sheet and there were marks on the towels. The bed was very uncomfortable and desperately needs to be replaced. If you coming for peace and quiet then this is not the place. You can hear everything that is happening in the kitchen, you can hear when guests arrive and check in as the room is right at the entrance, the doors all squeek and you can hear everything that goes on in the room next door. Hearing the co-curricular activities of our neighbours made us feel very uncomfortable. The sliding door from the bedroom onto the balcony didn't work. In the bathroom the taps in the basin were very loose and only the hot tap worked. It was very inconvenient having to brush our teeth with hot water. The breakfast was at least good and the one 3 course dinner we had was also good but definitely not anything amazing. All in all I don't know how this place has a 4 star rating and can't believe the rates they charge for what they have to offer. How disappointing.

Upon our arrival on Friday the 25th the room was prepared accordingly as promised the only problem was that there was no running water and reported that we were told that we shouldn't worry as they busy pumping water into tanks. 19:00 we went for dinner and after dinner when we get back to room there was still no water we again asked whats going on the guy said he'll go and check maybe it's the pump and he'll get back to us but no instead he knocked off and left. We couldn't bath that day and went to bed. In the morning there was still no water and we managed to get contact of Dion the owner of the place and we called and said he'll come down to the establishment upon his arrival i laid my complaint to him and he said if there's no water there's no water there's nothing he can do it's the municipality fault rudely so as he replied and told him 'man I've booked at your lodge and paid not the municipality so if you say so I'm going to ask you to refund my money as i paid for 2 nights, massage which I have not done yet and the boat cruise so take your money for 1 night and refund me the' He said i should my details with the reception which i did we packed our bags and frustrated around 06:40 not knowing where we get another place to continue celebrating our wedding anniversary and to this day he has not paid our money back..
