I haven’t been this disappointed in a really really long time, possibly ever. We got 4 small sweets, it was ridiculously expensive at R270, but we thought we’d spoil ourselves. I already thought it wasn’t worth R270 BUT THEN, when we got home, we saw EVERYTHING was expired. It had been expired for 11 months already. Absolutely terrible and to top it off, the owner isn’t very friendly either.

I was a regular customer . The owner is rude to his customers and his employers. Disgusting to see how he treats his staff :-( ... will never step foot again in the store !

Cannot believe how rude the manager is (not sure if he is the owner). I have never heard anyone so condescending when speaking to customers. It is actually quite disgusting and I do not recommend this florist to anyone - especially not for any stressful event or important one for that matter

I wish I could give this store zero stars. I’ve been buying flowers from this store for years, and today will be the last. My daughter picked up a teddy bear and as I approached the cashier to pay for my flowers, she rudely scowled at me and said that I need to purchase the toy because of Covid and that I cannot walk around the store with items. I tried to explain to her that this is no way to speak to a paying customer firstly, and there is zero signage of not touching any items in the store if you aren’t purchasing, which there should be, and while doing so, she walked off and started screaming things about us to the manager. All while the manager was in plain sight and said/did nothing to calm the situation. I have never experienced such pathetic, rude and racist staff as these, and will never set foot in this store again. Disgusting.

My boyfriend wanted to surprise me with a bouquet of flowers for a very special occasion and he went to Melrose Arch Flower Market. He paid R1100 for a huge arrangement in a very large vase. When I received the arrangement I noticed immediately that most of the flowers were on their last legs. Everything was crammed into the vase which had dirty cellophane at the bottom and no plant food. It arrived at lunchtime on Monday and by Tuesday morning mostly everything was dead. We were both extremely disappointed and felt very ripped off. We took the flowers back and they gave us a new arrangement which was definitely better and fresher but still a bit of old greenery had been added. If their flowers are not fresh they really should advise the customer and allow them to decide. We will not buy from them again and although they did rectify the situation the whole experience was unpleasant. We will not recommend them either. Given the times we are living in service should be of the highest standard and customers should not be ripped off, it leaves a very bad taste.

This store has the potential to be amazing, great location and potentially good offering. But it is let down by the terrible attitude of the owners, the flowers which die within a day, the expired chocolates and the general feeling that the man and woman seemingly at the helm are doing you a massive favour by deigning to serve you! Honestly, I’d rather travel to the market myself and forgo the cheap and nasty ‘free’ marketing chocolate or stale challah, which they seem to believe is such a differential advantage but which is actually a lame attempt at manipulating the customers into not seeing their ineptitude and shocking quality products! This woman has just spoken to me like I’m a naughty child because I dared to make a statement she disagreed with regarding the plastic bags they use for their flowers!! Enough is enough-I’ve come back time and again, spending thousands in your store, simply because the location is convenient. But now I’ll rather be better organized and travel a bit further to get fresh flowers from a retailer who actually wants customers! Good luck maintaining a customer base for a luxury product in the middle of a worldwide recession with the attitudes you possess!

I bought a pack of chocolate digestive biscuits and twizzlers few days ago. Paid full price for them. It was for my niece and nephew. Their mum calls me to say the stuff was expired long time and one of the child is having a severe tummy pain and running tummy. I phoned melrose arch flower market and the lady who spoke to me wasn’t apologetic, instead said calmly “we can only refund you for the items that haven’t been opened” The digestive biscuits where expired since 2018 and twizzlers since September 2020.. and she says she is inward of the expiry! A 2 years expired product that wasn’t even marked down and all they can do is refund me for an unopened item!!

I only rated the place one star because I dont have the option to give it zero stars. On the 30th August 2019, a day before my wedding, I went to fetch my bouquet which I had ordered and paid for in full a few days prior. When I placed my order, I provided the florist with a picture of a bouquet with white flowers and very few green flowers. The bouquet was supposed to be 90% white and 10% green. The bouquet they made came back looking like the grass Adam and Eve walked on. The bouquet was 90% green and 10% white. I still have the pictures to show for it. On top of the botched job on the bouquet, the owner's wife gave my mother and I such an attitude. That woman's attitude makes sewerage pipes seem like their less full of sh*t. She was absolutely rude and didnt even try to remedy the situation. If it wasnt for the fact that I am a confident, strong black woman, I probably would have had to take the bouquet as is. When I asked her why a green ribbon was used to tie the bouquet instead of the white ribbon I had requested, she rudely told me to take the bouquet as is because they dont have a white ribbon. I then asked why I wasnt told on the day I ordered the bouquet that they dont have a white ribbon and she didnt respond but just rolled her eyes and dismissed my mother and I. You would think that if you looking for high-end service, you should go to high-end places like Melrose Arch. Dont be fooled. Dont waste you time and money.
