If I could give a negative 5 rating, I would. Ever since Monash pulled out, it’s been hell. By far THE WORST institution in South Africa. Students who remained under Monash, even after the transition weren’t given the time of day, we received results for Semester 1 2021 in December/January 2022, some exam papers were lost and we were told we have to write supplementary exams, without ever seeing initial exam marks. One student only had one module instead of 4 modules for the entire Semester 2 of 2021, which ultimately meant the course would take much longer to complete than it should. The student had asked for help to get loaded on other modules that she needed and due to the lack of response from the school, was told it’s too late to enrol them into new modules and should try summer school, when they asked for Summer school, they were told that the IIEMSA cancelled summer school for Accounting. When the school was approached, they apologized and said they would investigate further, nothing has been done ever since. Monash students were advised to write emails to the Monash Teach out facility to transfer to IIE from MSA in order to avoid having to sit in front of the board. After transferring things just went worse, we had more modules to complete than what we had in Monash, and because of lost results and papers and their inability to communicate in time, modules had to be repeated. Especially for Accounting students. As I write this, It’s been 3 weeks since the academic semester began, we still don’t have login details, I don’t have my modules, I have access to absolutely nothing, not even the portal where my timetable, modules, course progression should be. Mind you there is a test week scheduled for the coming week. When I ask for help, nobody is able to explain why everything is slow. I completed my registration, the student advisor I was given? Very very useless and unprofessional, they promised to help us get the best help, we got the absolute opposite. A member of the staff, seeing how desperate students were for help, admitted that non of the staff members actually knows what they’re doing, so when we ask for help, they just make things up as they go. A former student went to the speak to the Dean to complain about issues they had, was promised help and was still left helpless and waiting for answers and access to the portal. There is absolutely no help, no student service, no professionalism. When they want their money, they will communicate with you!! non stop, but when students need help, there is no one available to help them. No value for money whatsoever. The people we’re supposed to see for certain areas of concern are mostly off sick, and never available. Do not even consider IIEMSA, rather invest in a public intstitution, because IIEMSA is a absolute waste of money and time, and will only ever be the cause of more stress and depression in students.

My daughter registered and paid in full in January 2021before the start of the semester. She then opted to cancel her registration, this was done within the terms and conditions set out by Monash. The payment was done on the 25 January 2021 and after numerous empty emails we are still waiting to be refunded and have found Monash University administration staff unhelpful and Tshepiso Mogotsi has everything that is required for our refund and she still hasn't effected the transfer.

Don't attend this "uni". It is an honest joke. The people who work in student services aren't trying to help you, they want you to be stuck and continue to fork over money. I have been course planned incorrectly TWICE which has delayed my degree by a full year. They will refuse to help you and never answer emails or calls. Since it was taken over by IIE it has been run to the ground. No one wants to provide you with an enriched education it is just a business.

I currently owe Monash varsity fees for first year. I have discussed my situation with them and we came to an agreement that when i am able to pay them back I will as was not currently working at the time. They have one of my certificates for a course that i have completed and already paid for but they refuse to give it to me. Now they have sent my details to their lawyers. Even though i have explained the situation to them and have given them the documention that they requested(ID, bank statement, affidavit of unemployment ), they continue to harass me via email.

Although it is a small university, best experiance hands down. My only problem in my experience studying there is student support - some are a bit biased and tend to allow personal feelings to slip between their supposed professionalism. Otherwise, I am quite happy with the way I was treated at Monash South Africa. It was quite disappointing to hear the news with AdvTech - I actually hoped to see it grow a bit further in terms of courses and facilities under Monash Australia/Laureate.

I was a former student at Monash, studying professional accounting. I have only completed 2 years of the 3 year degree due to financial constraints that set in my last semester I was there. Due to the fact that I wasn't able to pay for the last semester I attended at Monash they refused to release any of my results and that includes my first year results... Why can't they release the results of my previous 3 semesters and withhold the 4th semester. This year I've been in limbo as I have to start my studies from scratch so I joined Unisa to study First year accounting yet again to try and get a job so I'll be able to pay the Monash debt, unfortunately NO accounting firm is willing to give me a job as I can't provide any proof that I've completed my studies up to that semester...
