Yesterday; another girl drowned at Nkwe. Management is nowhere to be found at not involved at all. Surely they should be held accountable to some extent. What about lifeguards? This could have prevented another death. Seems to me that the owners of this property are only interested in scooping as much money as they can without proper precautions and without duty of care? Then you get the brainless idiots who don't tell their children off and let them hang around the scene to see the body? Not the sort of thing I would like my kids to see. Sadly, the racism card was also played, accusing the caretaker of the victim "black people should not come there if they cannot swim". A very sad day!!

For someone who works in the travel and resort industry for a long time, I'm very disappointed in the resort quality and the overall treatment we received during our weekend stay. The verbal understanding and chalet were paid upon on arrival with no tax invoice or receipt provided, even after we asked for one numerous times. A proof of full payment was sent from my side. What followed was a constant harassment from the caretaker of the quests in the form of messages and physical presence. Waking us up by knocking on the door numerous phone calls, issues with the gate. Then complaining about us sleeping late on Saturday. Suppose that's what you do when you seek out rest from a weekend away. In my opinion is their pricing is extremely exorbitant for the value and service received. From the towels in the unit was dirty upon arrival and one would expect for that price the unit should be fully serviced. The service, quality, and treatment of the resort was horrible and poor. The owner and staff are extremely rude, and their admin is a mess. Wouldn’t recommend anyone staying here. Which is a shame, for I truly believed the resort would live up to expectation.

<p>How do I begin to explain how much of a joke this "resort" is.. </p> <p>On our first night's stay, I accidently cut into my finger (due to terrible lighting because I only brought a 50m extension lead with me, instead of the required 100m cords - since their electric boxes are so far apart). Nevertheless, whilst attempting to sleep, I began to develop intense pain and therefore woke my girlfriend up and told her we should find a nearby hospital and have this checked out. Upon leaving the premises, we found that there would be no staff to open any of the two gates to exit. After phoning around 14 times, the ower (moody and awful) finally opened for us but mentioned very clearly that she would NOT be able to open for us again when we return (which would be around 4:30am). <br /><br />I can completely understand that people require their beauty rest, however if there is an emergency at YOUR resort, perhaps you could forfeit 5min of sleep in order to press a button and open a gate.<br /><br />Nonetheless, my girlfriend and I spend 3 hours in the parking lot of a hospital - waiting till 7am so that we could get back into the "resort". Without a single apology from the owner, we noticed further issues arise as we continued with our stay.<br /><br />This "resort" ruined my girlfriend's Birthday. I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know of the absolutely terrible experience we suffered. I sincerly hope that business is lost in the coming months.<br /><br />Thanks, for absolutely nothing.</p>

Due to a neglect, a termite infested tree collapsed on two vehicles. The owner had such an attitude towards us. He would only address the male who's car had been hit and not the female who's car had been hit. Furthermore only contacting the male with regards to what was happening in terms of insurance claims and police involvement. Absolutely disgusted at the attitude of the owner, he was disrespectful and gave absolutely no apology on behalf of himself or the resort.

We decided to visit Nkwe Holiday Resort on Saturday and to stay the night. We booked the 2 bed caravan. What a nightmare! The caravan was used by the Voortrekkers when the conquered the Drankensberge! Only one window was in a working condition. This is supposed to be self-catering. There is a braai next to the caravan but same cannot be used. The plastic table outside the caravan has not seen water for quite some months, the same goes for the caravan on the inside. The matrasses have some spots on - I dont event want to start thinking what it is. Bees have made a nesting place just outside of the one of the windows. Needess to say, we decided to rather pack up and went home. On handing back the keys to Fransien and pointing out why we are leaving after only an hour, she informed me that we cannot get our money back that we paid for staying the night and just paid the breakage deposit and key deposit back. She did not even offer to pay even 50 % of the money back or to have a look at our complaints. NEVER will I go to Nkwe again and I will inform all my friends as to the level of service.
