I am extremely frustrated with the Office of Consumer Protection. I reached out multiple times regarding my complained that i lodge in April 2025 , expecting guidance and support, but Andile Gwesha ignored all my emails and phone calls. Despite being responsible for protecting consumers, they provided no assistance, no updates, and no resolution. It is unacceptable that an office meant to help people in situations like mine would treat complaints with such disregard. I felt completely unsupported and frustrated, and I strongly advise others not to expect any real help from this office.

When I tried to pursue my rights under Consumer Protection Legislation I found the Office of Consumer Protection completely unhelpful. Eventually, after spending many hours fulfilling their bureaucratic requirements they refused to take any action whatsoever to assist me, despite me providing them with overwhelming evidence against a particular service provider. The Ombudsman was similarly unhelpful. So, unfortunately the consumer in South Africa has no recourse to obtain a refund or compensation from a retailer who has failed to provide the service that was paid for unless they employ a lawyer to pursue the matter in the courts.

Please explain the nasionale gambling board website says online gambling is ******* prohibited and only sportbetting is allowed. Then How is 10bet, Hollywoodbets, betway operating slots and live tables roulette, blackjack etc. Where is the loop hole or *******ion here. What am I not understanding. What exactly is their Job numerous complaints under their name on hello Peter. these casinos yet you remain silent. You have a law against online slots and tables on your website but they found a loop hole and you are to weak to do anything about that, yet south Africans are gambling their life savings, relationships and well-being away. Responsible Gambling is a cliché. People only realize when they are into deep. Many of my friend have fallen victim and its heart breaking to see yet everyday there is a new gambling site. How 10bet, Playabet. Play.co.za, betway, worldsportsbetting, playbet, soccershopbet , betshezi, interbet , who is allowing and approving all these casinos to operate online in south african. Most are now gambling away what they would have spend on food health care school fees rent. What is the long-term implications for the country. And all these casinos are easily link to bank accounts and voucher through banks and retailers. How are they being regulated and how are consumers protect and dont say Responsible Gambling that is not a thing.

A few months ago, I was approached by an individual who claimed to be a successful cryptocurrency trader with a foolproof investment opportunity. They promised high returns in a short period and assured me that my investment was safe and secure. Filled with excitement and the prospect of making quick profits, I decided to invest a significant amount of money in the scheme. The initial weeks seemed promising as I saw small returns on my investment, which further fueled my belief in the operation's legitimacy. However, as time passed, the individual became increasingly difficult to reach, and my requests to withdraw my profits were ignored. It soon became clear that I had fallen victim to a cryptocurrency investment ****. I had lost a substantial sum of money, and the promises of high returns were nothing but a facade to lure unsuspecting investors. However, I refused to give up hope and began searching for solutions online. That's when I came across Trust Geeks Hack Expert specializes in recovering ****** cryptocurrency. I reached out to them and explained my situation, and they immediately sprang into action. Through their expertise, determination, and relentless effort, they were able to track down my lost Bitcoin and recover it for me. I was overjoyed and relieved beyond words when I received the news that my funds had been successfully retrieved. If you find yourself in a similar situation look for assistance from Trust Geeks Hack Expert. I urge everyone to exercise caution when approached with investment opportunities that seem too good to be true, especially in the realm of cryptocurrency. I contacted consumer council in Durban complaining about Defy Durban about my faulty washing machine. I demanded my refund and compensation for my inconvenience from the bad traumatic experience I have received from Defy. At Consumer I dealt with Nolwazi and Sifiso Ngubo. Nolwazi was assisting on escalating the issue but Sifiso dealt with my query. Sifiso dealt with this issue in a very shady and unprofessional manner. Firstly he phoned me and asked me if Defy has refunded me, raising my hopes up as if I'm going to be refunded, till today I have not been refunded and I never heard from Sisfiso till today from more than 6 months ago. All of a sudden Nolwazi informed me that she has escalated the matter to her superiors. I never heard from non of those superiors from the council. I thought consumer council was suppose to protect consumers. If we are not protected by them and then what

Good day On 11 August 2021, a Consumer Complaints Investigator escalated a case to Ms Sanele Mthuli of the Consumer Protector for institution of proceedings in the Consumer Tribunal. I have tried by to get ahold of Ms Sanele Mthuli via email to no luck. I again called the Consumer Protector office in JHB and spoke to a guy called Alpheus who advised that Ms Sanele is working from home and he will liaise with her and provide feedback thereafter. I have since not heard anything from neither of the two and have tried calling the office back but phone is not being answered anymore. On 18 Nov 2021, I forwarded an email to complaints@ipid.gov.za in order to lay a formal complaint but have not received any response nor an automatic reply to show that my email has been received. I am disappointed at the service received and am not sure if I will get the necessary assistance at the rate things are going.
