One Insurance Underwriting Managers (Pty) Ltd
Based on recent customer reviews, One Insurance Underwriting Managers (Pty) Ltd receives strongly polarised feedback. Brokers and direct policyholders consistently praise the personal touch, approachable staff, and rapid claim payouts, with the Port Elizabeth office and the absence of call centres frequently highlighted as differentiators. However, a recurring theme among detractors centres on third-party claims handling, where customers describe prolonged delays, poor communication, and unresolved matters stretching over many months. Concerns also surface around repair quality, parts sourcing, and unexpected administrative charges, suggesting service consistency varies sharply depending on claim type.

I am disappointed in One Insurance. We bought a guesthouse (business and content) while we continued to rent the buildings, from the previous owner, because he refused, to sell the buildings to us. Right from the start, the landlord could not provide us with an electricity COC. After 4 years, of requesting the latter, without success, the Department of Labour closed the guesthouse down, leaving us without a roof over our heads or an income. ONE is refusing to honour the claim for business interruption, saying we did not do enough to ensure we get a COC, from the landlord. They also say, that nothing bad has happened, like a fire or injury and that we have no grounds, for any claims. They initially indicated, that we have a claim under the business interruption clause - "prevention of access", but has now turned back on their word, deciding against it.

This company doesn't even deserve one star. Only because of one employee named Lesedi Masilela. I have never come across someone so unprofessional, so nonchalant, so unorganized. I submitted a third party claim for a motor vehicle accident. The accident happened in June 2025. To date the claim has not been finalized. I had to take it upon myself to try to obtain documents from their client and broker. Not one has she communicated with me without me having to hound her. She has no telephone etiquette and no professionalism. I understand I am not a client of one insurance but this woman has given me a bad impression of the entire company because why are the managers and supervisors condoning and allowing this woman's poor work ethic. Whistling and singing while I'm waiting on the phone. She sends me an email saying my claim has been submitted then when i do a followup she asks where are my documents that she previously confirmed she had recieved. My claim might seem insignificant but to wait almost a year. It's completely pathetic.

On 28 January 2026, my stationary vehicle was reversed into by a vehicle owned by ATI Systems, a client of One Insurance. ATI Systems submitted a claim through their insurer, but One Insurance has not settled the claim. Despite several follow-up emails, the insurer has failed to respond or process the matter. The apparent unwillingness to resolve the claim is deeply disappointing and reflects very poorly on the company. It seems it is their modus operandi as I have noted similar complaints involving third party claims.

I was involved in an accident caused by a client to One Insurance on 1 December 2025. It is now 23 March 2026 and my claim has not been resolved. Instead, this company is collaborating with dubious characters who are hellbent on *****ing my money. The service by the consultants here is very very bad.

I’m currently insured with ONE and although I deal primarily through my broker, my experience with their claims service has been excellent. When I submitted a claim, the process was handled incredibly efficiently. They were responsive, kept things moving quickly and my claim was paid out within 72 hours, which really exceeded my expectations. In addition to the great service, their pricing is very competitive. My broker mentioned that they are offering exceptional rates at the moment and from what I’ve seen in the market, their value stands out. Overall, a very positive experience and reassuring to know claims are handled so smoothly when it matters most.
