Extremely Disappointing Experience I strongly regret engaging with this company. From the beginning, the first thing they insist on is transferring all your profiles (SARS, Xero, and Payroll) to them. Once they have full control, you no longer have proper access or transparency over your own business accounts. After the transfer, the service promised is simply not delivered. Communication is almost non-existent. When you follow up, you’re told your assigned consultant has “left,” with no proper handover, no accountability, and no continuity of service. In December, they pressure you to file based on estimates because they want to close early, without considering your company’s actual financial position or values. This puts your business at risk. Their billing practices are even worse. You are told you will pay 1% of turnover, but you end up paying more than 5%. They overcharge without rendering proper service. They issue multiple invoices in the same month and later claim it’s an “adjustment” because the first invoice was based on an average and not actual income received. This lack of transparency is unacceptable. When you try to terminate the Service Level Agreement, they demand additional payments and withhold access to your SARS, Xero, and Payroll profiles, effectively holding your business hostage and placing you at risk of non-compliance. This experience has caused financial strain and unnecessary stress to my business. I would strongly caution other business owners to think carefully before signing any agreement with them.

Bad service, Join them at your own risk. They say you will be invoiced one percent of your monthly turnover but always take more. The worse experience is when you try terminate the Service Level Agreement, they will demand more and keep all of your profiles (SARS, XERO, and Payroll )with them

Paid for a business registration related issue. Then I followed up with CIPC months later. Nothing received from One Percent. I then asked One Percent for a refund. Instead the accountant reapp**** to CIPC without asking me, which was a disaster as I then started receiving tax related notices. I had already moved on to start another business. I complained to One Percent and they told me the accountant had moved on, and not to worry because if you don't file a return CIPC will deregister it, so as far as they were concerned the application to CIPC didn't matter. But it did matter, as I then got harassed over this business, even after deregistration. Earlier I had other issues, such as the first accountant not responding. The later accountant at first only wanted to use bank statements and not source documents, until I told her at some point, you know there are source documents you can use such as invoices to verify accuracy. You have to then check the allocations and request revisions. Overall not the best experience. I give them 2 stars, because at least you can follow up with the overall manager if the accountants are out of line, which is not so with a smaller practice.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with One Percent Accounting, and I strongly advise businesses to avoid them. I paid R1,897.50 for VAT registration, but the service was never rendered because I chose not to proceed due to their poor communication, constant mistakes, and overall lack of professionalism. Despite doing no work, they outright refused to issue a refund, claiming it was “company policy.” In addition to this, I experienced multiple errors in my Xero bank reconciliations, which I had to fix myself. Their high staff turnover makes the situation even worse—every time a new person is assigned to your account, there’s confusion and chaos, leading to even more mistakes. A company that refuses to take responsibility for its errors and does not honor basic consumer rights should not be trusted with financial matters. I have escalated this to SAIT, SAICA, and the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud (CGSO) for further action. If you are looking for a reliable and ethical accounting firm, avoid One Percent Accounting at all costs.
