AKA: OpenView Anyone buying one of their new decoders should know the following: 1. They charge R1.50 per minute for you to utilise their activation app (something they conveniently omitted in their online activation video. 2. It's not as simple as what they want you to believe. I bought one of these new decoders about a week ago, and I'm still stuck at the activation stage, because the moment you agree to pay them R1.50 per minute to use their activation app (which you can access by dialling *120*6843*1# and choosing option 1), it asks you for your postal code, and no matter what you type in, it simply keeps on rejecting it (be it a valid postal code or not). That's where I still am, one week after buying their product. Unless I get a response from them *immediately*, I will be returning mine for a full refund, and I'm writing this as a warning to others: Don't be fooled by them!

I am having trouble with recording and have been trying since 12 august to get the matter resolved and have had no joy. The recordings jump and will go through a 30 minute program in two or three minutes

TODAY, THIS MORNING after speaking with Saabierah. Ref: 332016 about the PVR function being faulty, she instructed me to go and exchange my OpenView decoder and usb at the store where I purchased it. I complied. Within 2 hours the exchange took place and the newest decoder was up and running in my home HOWEVER, at 8:15am whilst I still had the older but still one month old decoder at home the SIGNAL STRENGTH was stable at 100%. With the brand new decoder our SIGNAL STRENGTH is now only 64%. I messaged OpenView on FB to query this at 10:41am and when they FINALLY made time to respond at 17:29, this is what they came up with...Hi Sean, your signal Strength can be fixed by an installer who has to realign the dish, for you not to have any interrupted viewing both your strength and quality have to be 85% and above. Seriously This is completely implausible My first OV decoder was a month old with 100% signal. My second decoder was a mere hour plus old but now the signal is mysteriously 64%.....without the dish EVER being fiddled with. And to add injury to insult Saabierah says OpenView only has one person responsible for the entire companies online social media queries. No, buying OV is not just a once off as is being promised!!!!

I recently upgraded to the ovhd pvr with recording playback, since i bought it on the 30 june 19 on play back it skips or does not play the recording, i have contacted ovhd on whats app since that day and im still waiting on the problem to be fixed. I HAVE been promised that someone would assist me with in 48 business hours that was more than 2 weeks ago, every time some else whats app me but never with a solution. My current bt experience is tbat u guys dont care, big hype around getting me to upgrade, now when i need assisgance, its lacking....... 30 June its the 23 Aug 19 today

<p>How do you activate ovhd decoder when there system does not work and there call center does not answer calls cost me R154.73 airtime still no answer we are experiencing high call volumes!!!! I wonder why</p>

I have tested the elsat openview hd decoder and the Altech openviewhd stb at the same time via hd cable,via samsung led on the is20 satelite ang have found the results shocking.The elsat ovhd stb has poor picture quality(lots of digital noise)and extremely poor sound quality.The Altech model on the other hand has amazing picture quality and the sound is ten times better compared to the elsat model.I paid R1000 a year ago for the elsat model and now the altech stb is R399 and is vastly superior compared to the elsat stb.I feel as if i have been robbed.Platco needs to take full responsibility for givind elsat the green light to mass produce an inferior quality product before stringent test were conducted to insure that the elsat stb was of a high quality.Instead they sold us an inferior quality product at high cost.
