I have been a regular patient, due to fibromyalgia, for the past years.I booked in on Monday 13/01/2025.I noticed how the staff and attitudes have changed, everyone seemed demotivatated.Upon entering my allocated room I immediately smelled sweat and a smell similar to dirty socks.A gentleman was sleeping in the first bed fully clothed and covered in blankets.I raised my concern regarding hygiene and was told that this gentleman refuses to wash himself. The bathroom was dirty and smelled of urine.I complained to nursing staff who rep**** OK.I asked them to take action and the response was ,what must I do? Total lack of caring. My folder was at the nursing station and when i required a stronger dosage of medication,I was told to wait until the next day.Nurses told me they don't know what Fibromyalgia is,yet she had my folder in her hands. The hospital have a smoking section ,new rules introduced after 11pm no one allowed to leave ward and i suffer from chronic insomnia and my only vice is cigarettes.I noticed patients complaining about the lack of tea and coffee, wrong medication and incorrect dosage. This place used to be pleasant, but change in management made it miserable.Nursing staff don't care exception for 2 nurses only who are still trying their best despite the circumstances.Management have implemented so many changes and policies, that the most passionate and caring staff left this facility. You only have half an hour to eat and nurses will come to dining hall insisting you must see Dr immediately and eat later ,for a normal check up.Akeso Milnerton will never see me again.Staff arrogant, and dare I say it ***********.Yes there are the few employees who still go the extra mile, but majority only there for the salary.I lodged 3 complaints none were attended to.The unit manager never involved himself regarding my complaints. This Hospital charge R18 000 a week for non existent service and arrogant staff do not care for patients.
I have been a loyal client for a good couple of years. My electric geyser malfunctioned while I was hospitalized.I registered a claim and plumber was sent to my residence. The plumber claimed geyser leaking,it is a fixed geyser underneath my kitchen sink.Note I worked in a management position for a major construction company and I am also technically trained. The plumber advised that geyser must be replaced and it must be mounted on wall outside house.I have lived in my residence for 30 years and personally replaced the geyser about 15 years ago.Out surance contacted me stating that my excess is R4000.00 ridiculous price of a new geyser varies between R3000 to R4000.I questioned the consultant she could not provide a satisfactory answer. My excess was then recalculated to R3000.I questioned the fact that plumber stated new geyser must be mounted outside, obviously the charges will be more due to additional piping and electrical extensions which will require a licensed electrician.Logic dictates that the geyser can only leak where the necessary fittings are *****ed into geyser eg,element, thermostat housing or pressure relief valve.I firmly believed that Outsurance did not do their due diligence accepting the plumbers recommendation, not realising the cost implications of relocating geyser.I cancelled my claim and policy due to the following reasons; 1 Excess more than cost of new geyser 2 Plumber wanting to relocate the geyser unnecessary.Outsurance please send your Qualified assessors to check on plumber recommendations.I firmly believe that its the biggest *******,having construction experience. You have lost a loyal client and i will soon change my vehicle insurance also.
What is the sense of having disabled parking and able bodied people take up the space with no shame. Car guard and security guard stated not their problem. The sign clearly states wheel clamping in effect. I eventually spoke to the center management who promised to handle it. Westgate Mall I will rather travel out of Mitchell's Plain to proper shopping centers where disabled parking rules are strictly app****.
Sunday 11/02/2024 We had lunch at Tigers Milk ,Surfers Corner,Muizenberg. We consisted of 3 adults and 2 children under 5 years of age.Our total bill came to R1461.00 and I was prepared to tip R100.The waitress Judith practically ******ed us demanding a 10% tip.I had my grand children with me and was extremely agitated by her remarks.I succumbed to keep the peace paid a total of R1600.00 (Invoice CHK 15503)After my grandchildren left I approached the manageress who agreed that tipping is not compulsery. I ordered a perfect Jameson appeared to be watered down and I could not even smell the Jameson. The waitress returned to give me my tip back in cash. She actually made me feel guilty accepting the cash hence I declined. My details were taken down, but almost 2 weeks later no contact.Tigers Milk used to be my favorite restaurant due to its close proximity.I will now drive the km's just to find a different restaurant that do not ****** clients.
I am a male patient in his late fifties, and was referred to Dr A Makuluma due to Fibromyalgia,Depression and Bipolar. It is not easy opening up to someone sharing personal feelings.Dr Makuluma first consultation made me open up and share my feelings. She was patient, kind, never interrupted, never told me what to do.She was so understanding and different to my previous psychiatrist.I have progressed so much under her guidance and she gave me the will to be my best and accept my medical condition.Dr Makuluma receptionist Nondumiso Baleni was always patient when responding to me,although I was agitated and came across as aggressive at times.these are true Health Professionals always willing to go the extra mile.I am truly grateful for the consultations and guidance.I will gladly recommend her to any individual suffering from depression or any other major mental illness. What a pleasure to deal with her and her receptionist.May God Bless you and your practice, you are truly one of a kind psychiatrist. I will remain your patient and refer you whenever possible. You really deserve an award for your professionalism.Keep up the good work.
No one likes hospital food.My admittance to Akeso hospital for pain management was pain free, pun intended.Tsebo did all the cooking and had the run of the kitchen.Their food equals 5 star restaurants.I believe that we eat with our eyes. The presentation of their food, made one feel to eat.Portions are per individual and a variety of dishes offered.Chef Reddy and his team simply amazing.I wish that i could take a chef home with me,just for the way meals are prepared and presented. You can taste the love and passion in their meals.Well done to the entire team at Akeso Hospital ,Milnerton,Cape Town
I suffer from Fibromyalgia and Major Depression.Admitted to Akeso twice for pain management. The receptionist Olivia made me feel so welcome assisting with obtaining authorization from my medical aid.Nursing staff are amazing especially the Nursing Manager,Sister Titus,Janet and her colleagues.Mr Chauke is a terrific problem solver always available and always listening. The wards are cleaned daily, gym facilities and exceptional food.I never liked hospitals but Akeso is more like a family home.My gratitude to Hospital Management and staff and especially Tseko Cleaning Services and Fedics food amazing service.Akeso is like my second home now and they deserve all the praise I can bestow on them.May God Bless this institution and the staff members.
