I have a TNF thermoball jacket that was a little frayed around the collar. Since this could be considered wear, I contacted Sector Group (local distributors) and asked if they would be able to repair it for me and what the cost would be. A very helpful lady asked me to mail through pictures of the jacket and damage. She mailed me back to say that they would send a courier to collect it from my home and repair it under warranty at no charge. Wow! I will certainly continue to support this great brand.
I discovered that I was paying for child cover that was no longer applicable, as my children were all over 18. I called, expecting a huge schlep and the endless maze of press 1, press 3... I was pleasantly surprised to get a human right away. She was so pleasant and helpful, that I needed to take a seat. I mailed through the information as advised and received a mail response confirming that the amendment had been made to my policy and they would backdate the payments and refund me on my next debit order. Would not have expected these levels of service in this day and age. Well done Platinum Life! Others should learn from this.
Customer service has mostly disappeared, so I would really like to praise Garmin for my recent experience. My Garmin watch developed an issue with the heart rate sensor and the battery wasn't holding charge. I dropped it off for repair at the Garmin offices in Rosebank and expected it to be a fairly expensive exercise. Imagine my surprise when I was informed that the unit was still under warranty and Garmin was going to exchange it for a brand-new unit at no charge. Even better, they had no stock of my model on hand and offered me the model up instead. It was couriered to my door at their expense. Well done Garmin SA, I am blown away with the service! Thank you.
Sanlam Saver Credit Card - they called me and explained all the benefits around saving R1/litre at Total and how they match the saved amount, etc. So I took app**** for the card as a windfall in January is always welcome. The bonus gets paid out mid to end January according to their website. We are in the first week of February and still nothing reflects. When I called to enquire they simply said payment of all the bonuses is delayed. End of story... no valid reason. Just do what you promise Sanlam!
I bought an LG smar****ch (W7) in 2019. Now the battery needs to be replaced and it is not available anywhere, online or at LG repair centres. I contacted LG SA directly and told them that I cannot accept that I have to throw away a R6000 watch because it needs a battery. I was promised by Quiet that he had ordered one from LG Korea and it would take around 2 months to get here. After patiently waiting for the 2 months for the battery to arrive, I simply received a mail saying the battery was discontinued. There are many other LG products from cellphones to media players where I have experienced the same lack of support, once they have your money... NOTHING.

Thanks to Kobus for going out of his way to find the components to repair my 30 year old Adcom amp. The old girl is good for another 30 now.
