Rope-worx were contracted to repaint a residential block of 12 flats in Tamboerskloof, of which I am an owner. For the duration of the renovation / repaint they had a hut inside the premises which their guys used to store paint, ropes, protective clothes, boots etc Towards the end of the project in Dec 2018 they broke down the hut and stored all the remaining equipment in the Municipality Electrical room. This room is normally only accessed by Council staff but the *****s on the hinges have been removed and so they pulled the door open this way. To my knowledge this is an extreme Fire Hazard and as far as I'm aware goes against the Safety Regulations that Contract companies adhere to? Not knowing this, I was advised one day by my tenant that she had no lights in the flat but that only the plugs were working. I rushed through the following day (cancelling clients) to meet an electrician to resolve this. When I called the Electrician and explained the problem he advised that it sounded like a Municipality issue when lights don't work and plugs do. He advised that I call them to resolve. I said I'd go into the Electrical room myself and try and see what the issue was. My husband was with me and when we managed to open the door we found Rope-worx paint, cement, boots etc piled high in the room. Everything was leaning up against the Municipal plugs and as a result 2 of the switches had been knocked down ie off 1 to my flat and 1 other. We immediately removed everything except for 2 huge bags of cement and I contacted John the foreman and told him he needs to come and remove everything as it was now lying in the yard. He said he would and came the following day. The point of this very long diatribe was that my tenant was with out electricity for the entire evening and she battled through with candles etc. In the middle of her nightmare she knocked a tray off the kitchen island and smashed a glass panel in my scullery door. I feel that Rope-worx are responsible for this as it wouldn't have happened if the Electrical room wasn't used as a storage room. Again I've had this discussion with John and made contact with the MD Derek who hasn't responded to my email. I believe replacing the stained glass is the responsibilty of Rope-worx or at least share in the cost of the glass by Rope-worx. But they are simply ignoring my requests and not taking responsibility! Shame on you Rope-worx.
I've decided to move my current Gap Cover Insurance from African Unity Health, previously PSG. I've been with them for several years and need proof that I've had Gap Cover up until my agreed termination date of 31 Jan 2018. On first inquiry regarding how I go about ending my cover, I was emailed a request to advise termination date and in that email a promise of Inception date being supplied was advised. Since then I've dealt with Gena Oosthuizen, Howard Ngiba, Leaveil, admin and no one is giving me my start date. The letter has been signed by Jonie Swanapoel. I can only guess this is an automated signature and Jonie is blissfully unaware that the signed letter falls short of the original promise. In the middle of all this I receive an email to say my end date is now suddenly end Dec. Which means that I'll be without cover for 1 month and this forfeits continued cover if there is a break. I've subsequently been told my Leaveil that it was an error and that my end date is 31.01.2018. African Unity, I'm told you have included the start date with other members who have terminated with you. What is your issue here? This shouldn't be a difficult process. With this level of service all I can say is that I can't wait to move!!

Our gardener Mr Cliford Mdlankomo went into Middestad Belleville Shoprite to get some food. As instructed he left his backpack at the parcel counter and received his numbered docket. After shopping he went to collect his backpack which had been given to another shopper. The other bag was still there and he was told to come back the next day as they were sure it would be returned as clearly a simple mistake had occurred. This was on the 18th August. He went back the next day and his bag hadn't been returned. He was then told to go and sign an affidavit at the Police station confirming contents of this backpack. Which he did. He was then asked to produce proof of purchase for the items which was Shoes and said backpack and face cloth, soap all items that he uses after working. He went to Pep for the Shoes which he'd bought with his bonus in Dec and they couldn't give him a receipt or copy of one. However he got the current price R299. The full total of his losses comes to under R1000. This includes his ID book, Keys to our property and Radio and rest mentioned above. A month has gone by and still he hasn't been reimbursed. I've spoken to Marie Hendriks at the Store and she's informed me that they've sent the application to the Insurance company. Who as we know won't pay without proof of purchase. He only works in Belleville every alternate Thurs and so tries to resolve this after work. Come on SHOPRITE, I know and you know that you have a store discretionary budget. This could've been resolved a month ago. YOUR staff made the MISTAKE. Mr Ndlankomo has done nothing wrong and as he says to me is the real LOSER in all of this. Please do what is right!!!

I've an apartment on the top floor of a block of flats. And mine has been leaking for sometime.

Dr Roof came to do some serious repairs to a supporting beam that was about to collapse on a shared balcony with a neighbour. I was hoping that this particular repair would fix my problem. As it turned out it didn't. Being impressed with their work I asked them to come back and try and find the issue. They quoted and came to do the job. They went above and beyond going over areas on the roof which showed weak points. After the very heavy rains recently, my flat didn't leak. The problem has been solved. I'd recommend Dr Roof to anyone not only for leaks but painting as well.

We applied for a Telkom phone line and ADSL last year. The new telephone number we were given has been nothing but a nuisance. Firstly, it belonged to an HR company previously and we got btw 7-15 calls per day looking for Caroline in HR.

My husband emailed the company and asked them to make sure they'd changed all their numbers from this old one on their website etc.. Nothing happend. The calls continued.

Plus we got a call from Telkom saying that we owed over R2000 on our account. Very confused we checked and our account was fine, but even TELKOM haven't updated their own records and so they essentially still had this company on the same OLD number.

So evenually today I called TELKOM SALES and spoke to Sebolela (spelling) and asked for a new telephone number. I explained that the old one hadn't served us in anyway.

Firstly, I'm told that we have to pay R265 for a new line. As far as I'm concerned the one you gave us wasn't valid. So why should we pay again? However, I agreed. As I want a NEW number.

The Agent changed our old one to the new one. Told me what it is. And gave me a reference number of 6 digits which I'm not sure is even valid as the line went to dialling tone suddenly. And now if I try and call our old number it doesn't ring and I try calling the new one - the message is this number doesn't exist.

REALLY TELKOM. You need to do better than this!
