I loyally supported this business for 20 years during which time I purchased 2 large fridges, 2 washing machines, 2 hobs, 2 extractors, 2 vacuum cleaners, 1 oven and numerous small items, spares & repairs. They recently delivered a fridge & removed the old one but left deep long scratches on my wood floor. I reported this to the saleslady Bernadette and emailed pics to her. After about 3 weeks of no response I went there and she was surprised I hadn't heard from anyone, so I asked to see the owner or manager. I was sent to a Sebastian (manager) and I asked him to physically come see for himself. I had no idea of what I wanted from them - I just wanted someone higher up to come and see how bad it is. This should be very easy for them, as I only live 300 metres from the shop. Sebastian made an appointment to come see but called me that morning to say things were very busy and that he would come the next morning at 9am. He never pitched up. All I wanted was for them to see and let them offer to do something, if they would - I wasn't demanding anything. As a result of this failure to address the issue, I am not ever going to support that business again. You would think they would try harder (but I am not going to chase them any more....if they care, they will come running to me now - but I won't hold my breath) as they now have a Hirsch's down the road to compete with. I will go there and elsewhere from now on. Thank you for the 20 years of good service, but sorry, one big strike an you're out. Don't call me to come see now, you're no longer welcome in my home, you had your easy chance and you blew me off. Now you can only offer me money to fix this, nothing else.
Bought a car number plate holder because everything looked local on this site and there was no indication that it was Chinese. When the item arrived it was a number plate holder for Chinese car number plates - completely wrong size and unusable in SA. Found a better quality one from a South African factory and it was 5 times cheaper. ie this incorrect Chinese junk was ridiculously overpriced!
They make themselves out to be in SA with a .co.za address and SA physical address, but only when you wait for your product to arrive do you find out its coming from China. Total disaster if you are buying something that needs to be South African specification - I ordered an aluminium number plate holder (for car), but what arrived is one for Chinese car number plates which are completely the wrong size for SA. They never anywhere indicated that this is a Chinese product or that it was coming from China or that the company was Chinese. Everything is made to look South African. Also, in the end I found a much better quality locally manufactured aluminium product and it was a quarter of the price as this Chinese junk.
Was embarrassed, at first, that my brother in law gave such a poor tip, however that was his way of complaining and fair enough. We ordered 2 of the exact same steaks but they brought us two different steaks. I don’t know if it was a mix-up of orders (probably not coz we ordered different sides and those were exactly correct) or a deliberate switch to offload an unwanted steak, but he accepted his incorrect steak and it turned out to be very tough (so maybe that one had previously been rejected?) My way of objecting is to never come back, because please explain why they would do that? It’s really simple when we ordered two of the same steak. How can you get that wrong? That can’t be a genuine mistake, it’s a deliberate trick to offload something.
Good Premiums. Excellent Service. Call Centre staff are very good.
No matter what I do, I cannot get an option to pay by credit card. The only option given to me is to use Payfast Instant EFT. This requires inputting my bank login credentials on a third party site (not my Bank's actual online banking). I did this once and my bank (FNB) immediately contacted me to suggest that I never use such payment portals (that require login credentials on a third party site), for the obvious security risks. Takealot Customer Service has even told me this is my only payment option (no reasons given), however on their website Takealot says you can pay by credit card by selecting the option after loading credit card details. Is it just me that is being limited this way, or can nobody in South Africa pay Takealot by credit card anymore? If this is so then I will never be able to use Takealot anymore. Why is this?
Online process was smooth and quick, price was excellent, delivery was quick, product (CCTV cameras) was excellent
They debit your card account with charges under R100 so that it might not be noticed and when you contact them to ask what it is about, they say you opened an account and are charging you an account fee. When you demand that the account be closed, they just keep charging you for this "account fee" BUT IT GETS WORSE: When I asked my Bank which of my card numbers was used, the bank told me a card number of a card that I do not even have in my possession or on my banking profile, so it looks like there is a *****ulently created credit card that puts charges to my credit card account. I have lodged a case with my banks ***** Department.
I suspect this is a total Rip-off, if not a bit of a Scam- I was foolish enough to pay R199 (when others can also give pretty much zero info online, for half the price) and what did I get when I thought I would get a "report")? An email with a link that does nothing when you click on it, no matter what you do.. I requested support and an email came back suggesting I use another browser, specifically Chrome, so I downloaded Google Chrome, made it my default browser, even tried restarting, everything under the sun but clicking on that link does absolutely nothing whatsoever.....now the "support" has gone silent, no matter how many times I email him back. I asked if my report can just be emailed to me....nothing.....crickets....
