After being let down by a company in Johannesburg that sells similar items to what Prototype does, I found what I was looking for on Prototype's website. I needed the item for an installation that I was going to complete over the weekend, and took a chance by requesting express delivery (24 to 48 hours). To be honest, I didn't expect delivery within 48 hours, especially given I am based in Cape Town and Prototype is based in Bloemfontein. Here I am, 46 hours after placing the order on their website with the item I have bought in front of me. I am VERY impressed with Prototype and with their delivery (coordinated by The Courier Guy). I will definitely be buying from them again. Thanks for the amazing service!
Superb service. I'm based in Cape Town and contacted Sounds Limited for a new head unit for my car. They helped me out and advised on facias etc, including providing guidance when I ran into difficulties (I was DIYing). I ordered the products at 10h45 and received notification the same day (about 14h00) that my order was already on its way to me. Exceptional service! I wont be going anywhere else in future. Would definitely recommend.
Took my money, and didn't send me anything. Although they say that they approved the refunds, no refunds ever received. Avoid at all costs.
This organisation and the owner are not legitimate. They use Nigerian payment platforms and items never arrive. Do not purchase anything from this site. We are in conversation with the banks to open a case against the individual. I will update this post with the case number when it is filed so that others can join the case.
Moved to MTN from Telkom Mobile. Worst decision ever. They're less than useless and exceptionally overpriced. I would not recommend that anyone join MTN. We had an issue where I bought data using the MTN app, and never received it. It took MTN more than a month and about 12 follow-up calls from my side for the issue to be resolved. When you buy data, MTN does not draw down based on when the data was bought, they use your contract data first. My contract with them can't end soon enough. Looking forward to leaving them behind.
Back in the days of sky high bank charges, I left FNB for Capitec - the new kid on the block, who didn't charge unjustifiably high bank charges. I was with Capitec for years and fortunately for me, Capitec was VERY slow on the uptake of new technologies, so I started looking for a bank that would let me use my Samsung Pay and Garmin Pay functions (I always forget my wallet, but never my phone and watch). Nedbank's pay-as-you-use account was the perfect fit for me - zero monthly bank charges, interest on money in pockets, and access to Samsung Pay and Garmin Pay. I have now been with Nedbank for about a year, and I since convinced my wife to move over to Nedbank, which she has, I have opened an account for my eldest child, and I have opened a tax free investment account. The Money App eats the other banking apps for breakfast, in my opinion. I can check my budget, my credit score, move money between pockets and into my current account, check my investment's growth, and see how my child is managing her money, all in one place. I obviously have all the usual functions too, but also so cool functions like sharing my banking details directly to whatsapp or other apps. The best thing about the app, and about Nedbank is the chat function. If I encounter an issue, I simply start a chat with an actual bank representative and they help me through the issue. It is something I have never come across with any other service provider, and it literally makes me feel like a valued customer. The only reason why I am not rating Nedbank 5 stars is because of the online application system, which is super buggy - of the four times I have used it, I have only not encountered an issue once (on my investment account). That system needs love, but otherwise, joining Nedbank is the best move I've made.
I've recently purchased a years' subscription to TransUnion in order to have constant access to my credit record, and to also be notified when my personal information is detected on the dark web. The service is good - although their credit report differs from Experian in terms of queries etc., I do get notified whenever someone does a query on my name through the transunion system, and my account information seems to be as up to date as possible given that lenders need to update accounts (which seems to be sporadic). I think I got value for money in terms of the information at my disposal (even taking into consideration that Experian offers the same service free of charge, and so does ClearScore, although ClearScore seems highly inaccurate). Where I have encountered considerable difficulty is on their login system. Firstly, why this is not an app?? It would be a fantastic service if it were developed into an app with biometric access capabilities. Secondly, trying to log in via a browser is a real pain. You log in, then the site buffers for anything from 10 seconds to 3 minutes. Sometimes the OTP never arrives (which you need in order to access your profile), and if that happens three times in a row, your account gets locked by Transunion. You then need to call Transunion (no other avenue exists) to unlock it - which is just silly in this day and age - and their automated system does not list "unblock/unlock account" as an option, so you have to wait for all options, and then work out how to get to an actual person. Dont be fooled by the automated responses that make it seem like you can chat to an agent on WhatsApp - you cant - only voice calls can be used to unblock/unlock accounts). The last two times I called Transunion after being locked out by their timing out website, they said they had sent me a text and email with the necessary link, but this never arrived (on both occasions on two separate days). It took me three calls to sort this out, and about 30mins of airtime in total. I know for a fact that I will encounter this issue again in the next while because of their laggy login system. As a result, I would not advise anyone to pay for the Transunion services. Mycreditcheck by Experian is pretty much the same thing, has no issues in terms of logging in, and it is free of charge. I have asked Transunion how I communicate with them to let them know my frustration, as a paying customer, but I don't think their systems are designed to receive feedback from their clients - so I dont think this will be addressed any time soon.
I have recently joined MTN from Telkom Mobile because I was foolish enough to think (like everyone says) that Telkom Mobile is the worst service provider. Well, since joining MTN, my network connection has been MUCH more stable and dependable, however, I receive SMSs on an almost hourly basis for a whole bunch of random nonsense. I have managed my consents through the MTN app, but miraculously, these consents seem to change every now and then. I have three sims with MTN (two contract and one pay as you go). The one contract sim is just a R60 per month pay as you go, and I have it in my spare phone in a drawer in my room and intend on letting family use it when they visit from abroad. I turned that phone on today, and noted that I have apparently subscribed to InConcert and have been paying R3 per day for this service. I received a similar message on the other contract number for a Gaming service (but was able to stop it before it even began). MTN are signing customers up to these services without their consent and then waiting for them to find out...Will be asking MTN for proof that I signed up for these services, and if they cannot provide, I'll be taking this further.

I blew the gasket on my old car. The first time this had happened, it cost me approximately R7000 to fix. This time round, I searched for a gasket sealant, and found a South African product called Gasket Magic. I called Koos for advice on where to buy it, and asked if he thought it would work. Within minutes, the product had sealed the leaking gasket. Koos as Gasket Magic went the extra mile to answer a number of additional questions I had. In one instance, my call dropped, and Koos called me back to provide me with an answer. I have not been this pleased with a product and service in years!! I highly recommend this product! The product is great, and so is the customer service!

Shane at CBF Brake and Clutch provided me with excellent service. They were able to replace my clutch at a very competitive price, and did an outstanding job of it. I am very pleased, and highly recommend this company.
