I wrote a good review on this company, but unfortunately, I wrote too soon. A technician was supposed to call on Friday 10th October to take measurements etc, and did not arrive. Then he was coming on Saturday 11th, and did not arrive again, despite messaging and calling - no reply. Then I was called on by a manager, and it was arranged that the Garage Door would be attended to on Friday 17th October. Then the company called and stated that they had double-booked and could I make it for next week, and I had already paid in full (they request a 90% deposit, but I paid in full in advance.) so they agreed to come today, as this was all in writing, and constitutes a contract, hence breach of contract. So they arrived today, installed the door, and then informed me that they did not have the software to use on a Centurian motor, only the motors that they sell, although they had been informed that it was a new Centurian motor. Then another phone call, informing me that they could do the software on Monday, as the technician stated that only he had the software but was in Stilbaai. The technicians doing the job today, stated that they could download the software if they had data. Anyway, they tried opening and closing the door and it worked? So after they left, I get a message stating that the first service on the door in 3 months time would "be on them" - no charge due to all the inconvenience. I referred them back to all the messages, where it clearly states that the first service is complimentary? I still had to pay R250-00 for "aligning the motor". What a comedy of errors. My wife and I have passport's that expire in 5 months time. My son is ill in Australia, and we might well have to go to Aus for at least 6 months. We went to the Bitou Dept of Home Affairs 3 weeks ago, only to be told that their system was down. (Telkom service provider). We called again this morning, and it is still down! So no one is our area can get passports. This is unacceptable. Nobody cares, and the frustrating part is that there is nothing that we can do. Enough said. Prof Rory Dunn.
I had a hacking issue over the weekend, and called Standard Bank customer care and ***** division. I asked them to deactivate my wifes account, Melanie Dunn, and was told that the accounts had been deactivated and she could go into the nearest branch on Monday to sort out the issue. My wife and I went to Standard Bank on Monday, and when the consultant went into the account, it was discovered that nothing had been done. There were numerous hacking attempts on her account, however bitdefender managed to block them. On Sunday when my wife called the bank, the individual with whom she spoke, refused to give her surname? I see that there are many bad reviews re Standard Bank. Prof Rory Dunn.
My cell was hacked yesterday, sim swap, (Whatsapp), and I went to the Vodacom franchise in Plettenberg Bay. A gentleman, Vuyo Nameka assisted me with a sim swap, explained red flagging to me, gave me a six digit password for future problems, and password protected my cell. He was patient, knowledgeable, friendly and stayed on after closing hours 18h00 in order to make sure that all was OK. ******g Pharmacy has amazing staff. The Pharmacists are knowledgeable (very), always greet customers with a smile and really go the extra mile. The frontline staff are also really great. I have received advice from the pharmacists that no other pharmacy could give me. I cannot name any particular staff member, as they are all so pleasant. Pieter - you run a great business. Well done. I think that this is really a messy part of Checkers "Business Model." The riders of these motorcycles are a hazard on the roads. Whilst shopping at Checkers one is literally "trampled" by these poor individuals rushing to fill customer orders. It is OK to deliver to old age homes and so on, but not to lazy individuals. If Checkers must make this service delivery sustainable, then make it 2 hours. In our area, one of the bikers was killed yesterday when hitting an oncoming car who had gone over a solid white line. This is reminiscent of sweat shops, and is quite frankly ridiculous. Perhaps it gives them a competitive edge, but look at all the poor reviews. Prof Rory Dunn.
I initially had a few issues when I first signed up with Netstar. Mr Justice Malope (Finance Supervisor) always responded with courtesy and followed-up to see that the matter was resolved.
