SHOCKING FAILURE TO HONOUR GUARANTEE
I have been an attorney for 35 years and do a lot of Conveyancing. I received a guarantee from Standard Bank in terms whereof they will pay R 2 500 000.00 less what is owed on the bond, on date of registration of an immovable property into my bank account. Based on the guarantee I registered the property in the Deeds office, however, Standard Bank failed to pay despite the fact that all conditions were met. They clearly do not consider themselves bound by guarantees anymore. Based on this shocking failure, I will not refer any of my clients to them for bonds anymore as they cannot be trusted anymore. I will now unfortunately have to proceed with legal action after registration took place, but no payment was made.

Stay away from the Sandton Branch, selling stuff which they do not have-no refund
I bought a 48v charger for approximately R 800 from the Sandton branch online on 19 May 2025. After no response, 10 days later, they inform me on enquiry that they o not have stock, although they marketed the item online. And why not inform me when I placed the order? They just kept quiet. I requested a refund on 29 May, and after numerous emails, 5 weeks after I have paid, I have still not received any refund, only promises. Extremely unprofessional in their emails, with no name of who you are dealing with. I have bought more than R 100 000 worth of equipment from the other branches with fine service. Stay away from the Sandton branch.

Pathetic service
Pathetic, stay away. After 22 days, no delivery of a mattress ordered and paid, Only promises they do not keep. They do not respond to emails, their telephones are just ringing, the whatsapp helpline is a total disaster taking you in circles, and only wasting your time. No communication. Looks like I will have to take the legal route with them and issue summons to get delivery or my money back.

Fast delivery
I was hesitant to order as my order was for R 2500.00 and the reviews were very poor on Hellopeter. I received my order in perfect condition within 2 days despite being in Cape Town. Well done.

Shocking penalties - Imaginet
An assistant uploaded data to my website hosted by Imaginet. I have a limit of 2gb but 9 gb was apparently uploaded. In the circumstances, they charged me almost R 1000 per month for additional usage (penalty) and took it from my bank account. I did not know about it. I never signed up for these exorbitant penalties and it is directly against the Conventional Penalties Act to charge a penalty far out of proportion to possible damages. This is "daylight *******" and they refuse to give me any credit. I now cancelled all my hosting provided by them as you can get packages far cheaper from other providers. For instance: Hosting: Imaginet 8gb: R 454, Afrihost 10gb R 149, you do the maths. And you run the risk that they might "impose a penalty" and highly over charge you on debit order like they did in my case. I am now trying to get their physical address to issue summons against them, as it is not even given on their website. So, my advice, go elsewhere. It looks like they became greedy.

Nedbank fail to pay out an investment
I am an Attorney and Executor of an estate. I have been battling to get payout of an investment by the deceased that matured three years ago. I handed all required original documents to them on numerous occasions, only to get messages that I have to do it again. They score on interest as long as they delay payment. I am now forced to issue summons, at the costs of the beneficiaries, which I am currently preparing, but the public should know that they may have difficulty getting money after an investment with Nedbank is made. I have been dong a lot of estates over 26 years, and this is the worst service I have ever received and the biggest battle to get a normal investment to pay out.
