We stayed at this lodge for three months during a transition to moving abroad. While the property itself looks attractive, our overall experience was around 1.5 out of 10, and we feel it’s important to clearly warn future guests so they know what they are committing to. Electricity & hot water (core issue) Reliable power and hot water were essential for us as a family. In reality, electricity was unreliable and heavily weather-dependent. The solar system could not support basic needs such as heating water, so the generator was used sparingly. This resulted in regular evening power cuts and limited hot water. We were often restricted to one unpredictable window of warm water per day, and many showers were lukewarm or cold despite agreed routines. Basic daily living required constant planning and compromise. Wi-Fi & working from home (not suitable) Both my husband and I work from home and specifically asked before moving in whether the Wi-Fi was strong and reliable. We were assured that it was. In practice, the internet connection was unstable and dropped frequently. This caused repeated disruptions to live online meetings and directly affected my work. Food, cooking & appliances Because power was often off overnight, we could not rely on the fridge and avoided eating refrigerated food, which led to wasted groceries. A two-plate electric stove was available but impractical due to power limitations, so we re**** on our own gas camping stove. Power surges when the generator switched on also meant appliances had to be constantly unplugged to avoid damage. Pool & facilities The pool could not be properly maintained because the pump could not run for sufficient periods. While not dirty, it was green and unusable, and we did not swim at all during our stay. Privacy & boundaries (important to know) Privacy was a concern. The two-bedroom cottage is connected to the main house by an interleading door. There were occasions where we heard knocking on this door, were expected to respond because it was clear we were inside, and the door was then opened to check electrical systems. While usually framed as helpful, this made it difficult to maintain normal personal boundaries and felt intrusive over time. Other considerations There are resident cats on the property. We personally didn’t mind, but they do enter the unit if doors are open. Guests with allergies should be aware of this in advance. We raised concerns calmly, tried to find solutions, and adapted where possible, but the issues were ongoing rather than temporary. We have since moved into accommodation at the same price with reliable electricity, hot water, Wi-Fi, and proper amenities, and the difference in quality of life is significant. This review is written as a warning, not an attack. There is better value available elsewhere, and prospective guests — especially those booking longer stays or needing reliable power and internet — should fully understand these limitations before booking.
I hate cooking yet I'm on a 'timer' because to keep the ingredientsfresh i need to cook in a certain time frame. This is great for my adhd brain! I'll be honest I get excited opening the packet to see what goodies are inside. The cards are easy to follow and I feel like a proper grown up follow the recipe. I cant multi task so I chose easy package for my subscription.
I would like to write a review about MiWay Insurance. Phenyo Tlapus was very professional and helpful. She was clear and precise. Thank you for helping me. They have always been helpful
I've been with Miway for a couple of years and although my premium was decent, the excess was too high for me in the case of a non person involved collision. I called, and not only had that been handled, but I have a better premium than before. I was treated with courtesy and respect. Thank you.
They listened and were empathetic. They weren't pushy at all. I love their service and that is why I have been a customer for years.
We have used Nick's services before when we lived in a complex but now we are in a house we decided to install motion-detecting cameras over the property. He took the time to run through everything a number of times as I wanted to understand it completely before committing to a large job. He never made us feel he was annoyed by keep on explaining to me and when it came to installation, camera angles, quality etc. The installers worked in the pouring rain in their bright yellow rain gear and were not intrusive. they were polite at all times. The main box had a noisy fan in the office so they came another day and moved it to a different room. All these tweaks weren't charged for- they just wanted to see the customer happy
I am actually very amazed that there is a company that buys cars that is not lazy in just saying here's the price take it or leave it. I bought a car for R470000 a month ago and the dealership would only pay me R400000 for it. I went to webuycars and they said R400000. all dealerships said the same thing. no one would budge. Weelee found someone for R41000 and followed up and spoke to me like they were a friend trying to help. they then called and said they found someone for R420000! I couldn't believe they kept pushing to help me further. I vouch for them in their efforts in customer service and business ethic
We had amazing advice and the product is impeccable quality. We have just moved in and then the rains came and we didn't realise we had a leak on the roof and they even came back and they took off a panel and fixed it for us! My husband thoroughly researched the company and we couldn't be happier. not the cheapest out there but I believe in long term quality.
Dr Tim is my chiropractor and is so friendly and professional. I often get a same day appointment in the week which is great
Keep calling without permission. Tried to call back to get them to take me off their list but no answer. I have trucaller so that's how I knew who it was. Tired of unsolicited calls
