We are a small-medium sized business and after experiencing such bad customer service & high contract fees from Vodacom we decided to move to MTN. My initial contact with MTN was good until we tried to open our account. It took weeks of sending off endless documents, only to be told they still needed more information. We were unhappy about providing the last 3 months bank statements as there is sensitive information on this but relented and did this. All a long I have told the person by the name of Marloe that we have cancelled our Vodacom contract effective 28 Feb and gave instructions for the new MTN contract we wanted to begin on 1 March. Marloe indicated a week ago that the phone that came with the contract was out of stock but never once said that this would impact on activating the new contract (we did not plan on using this new phone as were going to keep using the original phone, so it didn't really seem to matter). I emailed Marloe on Tuesday, 26 Feb asking if MTN courier the new SIM or if we need to go into a store to collect. It was only then that he mentioned that as the phone was out of stock they could not send the SIM, they had no equivalent phone to offer and had no idea when they would get that phone. Unfortunately as the first contract we are moving over to MTN is the MD's, he now has no contract with Vodacom and a contract MTN won't be activated as they are out of stock of the phone that comes with this contract (even although we don't need the phone). This is such poor service by MTN and I am already regretting moving from Vodacom (who are no better either). I wish there was one mobile provider that gave good customer service. It there was they would wipe up the market!.
We are moving our corporate account away from Vodacom due to exceptionally poor service levels - it takes ages to get anything resolved with their call center. As the account holder when I request any changes, I have to email on letterhead with my ID, however they allow my staff to phone in and make changes to the contracts over the phone. On top of that every time I query the additional charges no-one gets back to me. I have emailed and phoned in numerous times, even had a manager contact me, he said he would look into my issues and I never heard from him again. Now that our contracts are coming up for renewal I have looked in the market place and now see how expensive Vodacom are. MTN are offering similar contracts at half the price. Perhaps their service levels will be just as poor but at least they will be half the price.
Once Xerox have locked you into a 5 year maintenance contract, it is exceptionally difficult to get them to deliver replacement toners, which are part of the contract. I have cut and paste my latest email....... Email sent 7 Feb 2019 I have instructed our accounts department to withhold all payments until we receive this toner. As discussed with Mervin, I assume your company is either in financial trouble and are unable to service their contracts or your service levels are just exceptionally poor. Once we run out of toner (which will be in the next few days) it will cost us R20k every 2 hours we can’t print!!!! As usual to get a toner delivered requires me making a song and dance about it and you continue to cut it fine with getting a toner to us in the 12th hour. Xerox certainly don’t make doing business easy!!!
Dreadful everything - from service, to their call centre, to their staff attitude and knowledge, to getting anything sorted and fixed , to their dreadful products. DO NOT USE if you can help it. You will just end up pulling your hair out with this company.
We threw a small party when we finally became Telkom free - what a difference to finally move off Telkom LTE and onto YC Fibre. The change over was effortless and everything that Neil, Neville, Jared & Kaycleen promised happened. We now have fibre in our Westville office and microwave fibre at our Hammarsdale warehouse and both work beautifully. It has been a pleasure to work with this company that deals with your issues promptly and realises how essential it is to have fast, reliable fibre that works. Their staff are highly trained, communicative and get the job done. There is no hesitation to recommend this company.
