Without consent
We wish to lodge a formal complaint regarding a concerning call my husband received. The consultant introduced himself/herself and verified my husband’s identity using the first six digits of his ID number, then advised that he is overpaying on certain accounts. At no stage did my husband give consent for any further action. We have since discovered that this call was treated as authorisation to access his credit bureau information, which is incorrect and unacceptable. The number used to contact him cannot be called back, and we have no other way to reach the company. We request urgent confirmation that no further access will be made to his credit profile without explicit consent, as well as details of the caller and a copy of the call recording.

Unhappy client
I would like to raise my unhappiness regarding how my insurance policy was handled when I moved my vehicle cover. In 2025, I purchased a brand new bakkie and insured it with Budget Insurance, where I received a very competitive quote that included no excess on the vehicle. I accepted this offer and had the vehicle insured with Budget for approximately one month. Thereafter, I contacted Auto & General to move all my insurance products (including home and vehicle insurance) to one provider for convenience. During this process, I was informed by the consultant that Budget Insurance and Auto & General fall under the same umbrella, and I was encouraged to rather keep everything with Auto & General. Based on this explanation and the fact that I was happy with Auto & General, and the impression that the offering would be the same as Budget, I agreed to move my vehicle and home insurance to Auto & General. My understanding and expectation at the time was that the terms would remain consistent, specifically that the policy would carry no excess, as was the case with Budget. Recently, I was involved in a minor incident with my bakkie and have now been informed that I am liable to pay an excess. This has come as a complete surprise and does not align with what I reasonably believed I was agreeing to when the policy was sold to me. While I acknowledge that the consultant verbally mentioned the excess during the call, I believe the manner in which the policy was presented — particularly the emphasis on both companies being under the same umbrella and “similar” — created a strong and reasonable expectation that the cover would match what I previously had with Budget. I feel that this situation is unfair especially since I do not have the excess money, as I was effectively persuaded to move from a policy with no excess to one with an excess. I kindly request that: • Consideration be given to waiving the excess on this claim, given the expectations created during the sales process I have been a responsible client and insured my vehicle immediately after purchase, and I believe this matter deserves fair resolution. I look forward to your response.

Inferior product
I bought a Bosch dishwasher about a year ago but its been a disappointment since the very beginning. Dish rack rusted and breaking. Wheels falling off. Never had an issue with my Defy but bought the Bosch dishwasher to match my Bosch refrigerator. Bosch SMS24AI01Z

Unhappy loyal client
I sent in a claim for my LED Hisense TV. The excess was bigger than the cost of the TV. The TV didnt switch on one evening after getting home from work. A&G added an additional excess for power surge to the claim. However we havent had load shedding in forever in the Western Cape and definitely not within last week when my TV stopped working. Secondly, they didnt even collect the TV to test it, so how make that assumption. I dont falter on my monthly insurance payments. This feels unfair. A year or two ago a TV broke because of a gust of wind that knocked a metal pelmet against the TV breaking it. NO hassles on that claim, no excess either. WHY??? Does one have to lie to insurance to cover the claim? Very unhappy customer.

More ****py Vodacom service
I took out a Vodacom contract on 14 November. A pro rata amount was successfully deducted for the remainder of November. I asked for my monthly debit order to be deducted the last day of every month. I called Vodacom to find out why the d/o wasn't deducted. I went to the branch I took the contract out to complain. I was told to contact the accounts department. MY ISSUE IS.... HOW COULD THE PRO RATA BE SUCCESSFULLY DEDUCTED BUT NOT THE 2ND INSTALMENT??? I TOOK OUT THE CONTRACT TO BUILD A CREDIT RECORD AND NOW VODACOM WANTS TO CHARGE ME A MISSED PAYMENT FEE OF OVER R100. I WANT ANSWERS. WHY WAS THE D/O DEDUCTED WHEN THERE WAS OVER ENOUGH CASH IN MY ACCOUNT. I CAN PROVIDE MY BANK STATEMENTS. I refuse to be held liable for a Vodacom account issue. I want urgent assistance.
