Xanadu luxury villas in Zanzibar was absolutely amazing, service, food and accommodation. Leigh and butler Mike made our stay completely unforgettable. Warmth, hospitality and the quality of the food was lavish and I will be recommending this destination to everyone I know.
Is Standard bank the worst insurance company ever? Most certainly! After I published my last review they contacted me telling me that my claim would be settled only to find a young lady at their claims department calling me to tell me that they wont pay my claim until I provide proof of previous repairs from a year ago. These repairs were done by myself as they paid me out in cash and I cant provide a receipt for myself. However these repairs have no bearing on the current repair as it was the previous water leak which THEIR service provider *****ed up causing this resultant damage. So I ask her to simply compare the photos from the last claim to the ones taken by their assessor now and one can clearly see the repairs were done but no go! Standard bank you said you would settle this claim and now go back on your word for something completely irrelevant. See you at the OSTI. No wonder you have the worst HP rating and even your SP's caution against these antics.
In December 2023 I submitted a claim for a burst water pipe at my home and Standard Bank sent Michael from Starplex plumbing to do the repair. After having to call them back three times they assured me the repair was done correctly only to find that the pipe in the wall has been leaking continuously for almost a year since then! The water leak has damaged the shower floor which is collapsing, two adjacent door frames, tiles, paint etc. Zanele from Standard Bank arrived at my house took photos and said that she is sending a contractor to provide a quote for the repairs. The contractor confirmed on recording that these damages are as a result of the poorly repaired leak and will provide a quote to Standard Bank also confirming his availability to start the repairs. After SIX WEEKS Zanele called me to say that this damage is a result of my shower being poorly built (but only the area where the leak is which their service provider failed to repair correctly). Not so strange is the first Standard Bank service provider informing me that I need to brace myself as Standard Bank will look to repudiate my claim... and voila! Standard Bank your service is poor, your turn around time shocking and your lack of transparency shameful as evidenced by the embarrassment of your assessor when calling me to convey the so-called rejection. I'm canceling my policy with immediate effect. I will also be moving my bonds elsewhere, making this travesty public knowledge and seeing you at the OSTI, this is not going away.
Submitted a claim for a burst water pipe10 months ago. The plumbers failed to fix the leak properly and has been leaking since causing major damage to the entire infrastructure. Contacted standard bank a month ago and still waiting for their assessor to assist. This turnaround time is apparently non-existent and the service shocking to say the least. Would you please send your assessor to come and finalize the damage report!!!!
Misappropriation of premiums! I get a call from a guy saying he's an agent at Gomo (We buy cars) where I just bought a vehicle and he wants my insurance confirmation of cover which I send. I then received an SMS stating that I now have total loss cover with Gaurdrisk and the UNAUTHORISED premium will be debited as part of my vehicle installment. This is NOT the mechanical warranty as that was made part of the finance agreement. Gaurdrisk listen up! If you debit one cent from my account I will open a case of ***** at the commercial crimes unit.
