I paid a R800 fine for City of Cape Town at the discounted amount of R640 through FinesSA in Jan 24. Cape Town is now issuing summons against me for non-payment. I sent FinesSA an e-mail some two weeks ago and got no response. I also sent Cape Town an explanation and they said sorry but the fine is not paid AND that they are NOT affiliated with FinesSA at all. This is obvious *****ulant and will lay a charge at SAPS tomorrow.
I booked business class tickets online no problem. The tickets were flexible and when we wanted to change the dates the website which pronounces with much fanfare that you can just change it online said that I cannot do it online and must contact their customer services. After a mission I got in touch with them and they charged me R30000 more for the new flights (no change fees - just fare differences) although I could buy the sane flights online for only R5000 fare difference. They insist that my booking class is not available fir the new dates and that I must pay for a higher class but on the website I can still get the same business class tickets at only R5000 difference. This is ******* and I will report them to the competition authorities.
Watch out for this business and its owner Quentin Esterhuizen. Promises, promises and more promises and then excuses, excuses and more excuses. Poor supervision and in short NOT reliable.
I sent MTN customer services an e-mail on 6 October to cancel a contract. On the same date they replied that my request has been escalated to their retentions department and provided an e-mail address for this department if I wanted to follow up on progress ir alternatively to call 083135 and choose option 4. This option does not even exist if you call from a non-MTN number. My cell is not a MTN phone and the number that I wanted to cancel is not a phone device. Why must I follow up - why don’t they do their jobs and call me? As I never heard from these retensions people I sent them 2 e-mails on 15 October and 21 October to which I have still not had a reply. I e-mailes customer services again on 26 October and they confirmed that the contract was still active 20 days after my request and in the mean time I have to carry on paying! What a cheap filthy mean way for this company to balance its books after the COVID losses. Customer services said that they again escalated the matter to their retensions department. I don’t want to be retained by this useless monopoly I just want my contract cancelled! I can write books about the terrible and inefficient service of this company and many of their options when you phone 135/083135 do not work. Stay away from this monopoly!!!!!
Never ever use this online hotel booking system which I found via the Trivago website. They will advertise the cheapest rates BUT will inform you a few days prior to your intended stay that your booking has been cancelled for reasons beyond their control. They refuse a cash refund and offer a “credit voucher”. Crooks and the internet is full of complaints about them. Never pay upfront!
I went through the lengthy telephonic Outsurance quote process twice after warning their consultants that they won’t be able to beat the premium on my car insurance. They insisted that they be given the opportunity to quote. I never received any quote which is a blatant way to avoid their widely advertised R800 reward if they can’t beat a premium. I complained and some manager called me during which he confirmed that their quote will be more than double my existing premium. He promised that some other department will contact me to arrange for the R800 payment. I was obviously never contacted again. This is false advertising and nothing more than a cheap ripoff that wasted a lot of my time. Avoid this company!! I will also complain to the relevant authorities.
