Worst online order experience, ever. When you place order, they submit directly to each supplier, so they have no control over the process. On my current order, one item suddenly out of stock and another item, supplier indicated "Ready to Ship" 3 days ago, but low cost and terrible courier not collecting item. I shall never order something from Makro again!
Declined returned product, after meeting all the criteria
My order is supposed to be delivered today, but has not even been shipped from warehouse. Planned to be at home today for delivery. Unable to contact Takealot, which makes their customer service the worst of all online shops in South Africa.

Requested a return for an item, which doesn't work as expected. After testing the item, I sent it back within 5 business days. Got confirmation email from Takealot representative that my account will be credited upon arrival at warehouse. Nothing was said in this email about evaluating the return. Well, the return was declined. The CPA allows returns within 10 business days if consumers are not satisfied with purchase. I didn't even insist on cash refund, just account credit. Not happy with Takealot and this being a customer for over 20 years! Don't even try to contact them because that's also impossible.
First time purchase. Excellent experience. The staff are friendly and respond to email queries swiftly. Quick delivery to Cape Town. Very reliable and highly recommended!
First time purchase. Not many consumers are aware that FirstShop pioneered online sales. Their system is world class and fully automated. Prices are excellent and delivery are the best I have experienced. Well done FirstShop!
Terrible delivery service. After numerous follow up actions with their operations person, Denvor, and confirmation from him that delivery would be made today, sadly it didn't happen. What's worse is that they I made it clear it was my birthday today and the office chair a gift from my wife, but even this didn't make a difference. Obviously they do not care about their customers and I wonder now if their unreliability is a reflection of the quality of their products.
Submitted return request of defective office chair on 20 April. I received sms from Takealot on 1 May which confirmed collection from my home on 4 May. Late afternoon on 4 May I made contact with Takealot to confirm and I received an email confirmation that collection would take place before 18H00. At 15H56 on 4 May I received an sms from Takealot informing me that collection has been delayed and will be rescheduled. Nothing has happened since. This is unacceptable and should take responsibility for this and do whatever is necessary to collect my item and repair/replace it. I have been a Takealot customer for many years. I don't care if they now state they do not allow return collections during Covid-19. The fact that the return collection was agreed, overrides this and they should honor it. Is this how you are rewarded for loyalty?
