I recently visited one of Franschhoek’s most iconic and historic wine estates with international guests, and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we struggled to get clear information from the staff. The grounds appeared neglected, the estate looked tired and run-down, and the homestead was closed. Lunch was bland and overcooked, leaving both myself and my guests underwhelmed. I could see their disappointment, which was disheartening given the estate’s reputation. In an effort to make up for the experience, I took my guests to Vergelegen Wine Farm the following day—and the contrast was remarkable. The gardens were immaculate, the restaurant, although busy, welcomed and accommodated us, and the meal, including dessert, was outstanding. The wine tasting centre was tastefully decorated, the staff knowledgeable and attentive, and the overall experience was exceptional. I felt genuinely proud to showcase Vergelegen to my guests. Thank you to Vergelegen Stables Restaurant and team—you truly make us proud, and I will confidently choose you again whenever I want to make a lasting impression in Cape Town.
was very disappointed with my recent visit to Boschendal Wine Estate. I had overseas guests visiting Cape Town and wanted to give them a memorable wine farm experience. Given Boschendal’s reputation and iconic status, I thought it would be the perfect choice. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet expectations. The gardens appeared neglected, and the historic homestead was closed. At the deli, the meal was underwhelming – my steak was overcooked – and overall the atmosphere felt tired rather than welcoming. When I enquired about directions to the gardens and homestead, the response I received was unhelpful, which added to the disappointment. I had visited Boschendal about ten years ago and was truly impressed back then, so I had hoped to recreate that same special experience for my guests. Sadly, this time I could see their disappointment as well. I eventually decided to take them to Vergelegen in Somerset West, and although it required a longer drive, the contrast was striking: immaculate gardens, excellent wine tasting, and a wonderful dessert at Stables. Friendly and helpful staff from the moment we arrived at the *****he difference in overall experience was worlds apart when hosting international visitors. Boschendal remains an estate with incredible potential, but in my view, it is not currently living up to the standard it once set.
From the moment i called them for advise and rates, to the time i arrived to collect the vehicle, then to return of the vehicle and finally my deposit refund, I have had nothing but the very best serice. It was so effienct, helpfull and informative, something really lacking in Cape Town. I can HIGHLY recommend using Pace Car Rentals and will never again use any other rental agency. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience.

REWARDS CO & MTN This company calls and pretends to be from MTN - but in truth they are a third party. They "upgraded" my R700 plus contract to a R199 contract without my authority. MTN allowed it, they are not able to cancel and upgrade me to a decent package. Rewards CO - Just like MTN makes you hold on and then eventually cuts you off. 2 full days and i have still not managed to speak to a competent person. They send you from Pillar to post only to drop the call. this is theft. How can we allow this kind of unethical behavior and have NO comeback. They need to be boycotted. THERE IS A DURBAN NO FOR REWARDS CO WHICH DO NOT GET ANSWERED. NO EMAIL ADDRESS.
I had a contract with MTN for around R700 p/month. It expired months ago and i was on a month to month. i tried to upgrade and was told that i upgraded through a company called Rewards Co on the 23rd October to a R199 contract. This never happened. I tried calling MTN and no one can help me. They say i must go to upgrade and cancellation department. When i chose that extension it says "You are not eligible for an upgrade" Because there is this new upgrade done. it takes me back to the call center who cannot help me. there is just no way for me to speak to anyone that can cancel this so i can do a proper upgrade. I use my number for business so i cannot afford to lose it. the new airtime provided lasted 4 days only. I bought R100 airtime which lasted a day. I do not know where to report this fraudulent, unethical company. I am not able to speak to someone at this Rewards Co. Please can someone help with contact details? MTN Call center is useless.
Just ordered and paid for glasses. Sadly i only read today that they are crooks. Is there anyone who has ever received th glasses they ordered? already have had no communication from them. scary!!!
Ordered on 3rd January , it is now 3rd April. Site says 5-10 working days. When you contact them by email an automatic reply says your product has been shipped. LIES, CON SITARIST. THIEVES. BE VERY CAREFUL, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM; EVER
