My parent's stay in Hendrina and has insured their building insurance with ABSA. They recently survived a severe storm that was accompanied with a Tornado as can be verified on any news platform in the past 2 weeks (Bethal, Pullenshope, Hendrina, etc were all affected). My mother was alone on the evening and it was during loadshedding when the storm hit Hendrina, it was not long before a section of the house was completely flooded and the ceiling caved in. Before this there was no signs of any leakage from the roof as can be seen on the rest of the ceilings that shows no water damage old or new. YET ABSA refuses to pay out as they claim the roof was leaking and the roof sheets were loose before the storm. (how can this even be verified?) 2 Assessors appointed by ABSA came, and had different reports, from what they had said on the day of inspection. Apparently one ordered the other to change his report to be the same as theirs so that the bank does not have to accept the claim. This is unacceptable given the trauma my mother had to go through being alone during such a severe storm and now having the financial implications to fix everything even though they have comprehensive insurance with a so called reputable bankl
After going back and forth, and the parcel ending up in a locker in the wrong town, i went to collect it and guess what, no parcel at all. Empty locker!
This the the worst service I have ever received while trying to courier a parcel. Originally I have booked it, locker to locker, to go to Ermelo. We have immediately realized the parcel might take longer than a day and contacted the Ermelo branch to redirect it to Hendrina. This was confirmed. As soon as the parcel left Ermelo it went to Secunda, the tracking was updated hence I could see, but this was the last update, it was on Thursday.. I called Ermelo, they said it should have gone to Hendrina, but it will most probably be delivered the following day. I called teh Secunda branch to confirm and they did confirm that it will go to Hendrina on Friday. Friday came and there was no update on the system, so I called just to be informed that the parcel was once again sent to Ermelo. They will redirect it to Hendrina and clearly mark it as such, but it will go back to Secunda as they service Hendrina, Once again I was promised that it will reach Hendrina on Monday. Monday morning, as soon as both branches opened, I contacted them and they still promised that it was sent out for delivery to Hendrina; The tracking system finally updated and it indicated that the parcel is in a locker in Ermelo. I was already days late to get this home and still had to drive out more money in fuel than what the courier initially cost me. I could have delivered it myself on Monday as I am in Hendrina, instead I had to drive to Ermelo to get it, instead of going through all this since last week Wednesday!!! I will never use them again, Even the manager at the Ermelo branch did not even try to assist, eeh only feedback was sorry we cannot help although we already cost you 2 days, you will have to wait for Monday to get it to Hendrina, which, as indicated above, did not happen.
I have bought a rainbow home mattress. Once we started using the mattress we woke up with head aches, stiff necks and back pain. The mattress is rated at 150kg weight limit (which for a queen means for each side), we both weigh less than 67kg, but from the first night it fell as if we are falling right through sleeping on no support. I contacted the company and they just said the mattress is fine and has no defects. They do not even try to establish the problem or assist. The mattress is advertised with a firmness level of 7, which is really firm supposed to be, but this is even worse than plush.

I have bought a Ma Baker III bread machine and had it delivered to my mother who lives in town. I got it from her 4 weeks after delivery and decided to use it the first time using the delay function to wake up with the smell of fresh bread. Instead we woke up with a loud noise and the bread machine actually 'walked' off the counter top during the kneading process. (after doing some research this happens quite often to many people, mostly because the machines are not balanced at manufacturing). I have immediately called Binuns and they just said I must pay a hundred and fifty rands to send the machine back and another hundred and fifty rands to collect it afterwards, but where in this time of the world am I suppose to pay additional three hundred rands for an appliance I already had to sc**** my budget for, because of a faulty machine. Now I sit with a broken lid, cannot use the machine, they refuse to send a new lid only, and I am poorer by one thousand one hundred and fifty rands. Not satisfied at all.
Ganis is always willing to assist and if they do not have spares they will get it same day still. Best service ever.
