In 2021 I submitted a claim for Covid on my Income Protector.I have a 7 day waiting period. Brightrock backdated the waiting period and paid for 10 days. In 2025 I submitted another Covid Claim. This time Brightrock did not backdate the waiting period and paid 2 days. Brightrock claimed that during the Covid Pandemic a special concession was made regarding the waiting periods. In the email received in 2021 nothing was mentioned regarding this special concession. After the Pandemic no email was sent informing me that any concession on my Income Protector was revoked. I am very unhappy with the fact that BrightRock can make any policy change without informing me in advance.
Why do I get so many SPAM calls from Vodacom asking if I would like to upgrade my contract? I phoned Cancellations last month and they promised that if I switch to a Zero Rated contract I would not be called again. That didn't work. My next step is to cancel all my contracts and switch to another operator

It is impossible to get hold of anyone in the Claims department of BrightRock. I tried phoning ,email and even requested a call back., I submitted a claim in August 2021. Still waiting for any feedback. Did not receive a claim acknowledgement. No update on progress. Really unhappy with the choice I made in switching to BrightRock.

My 5 year Paybacks are due in October 2019. I requested cancellation of policy effective 1 November 2019. On 27 September Discovery canceled my policy effective 1 October thereby automatically canceling my Paybacks as well as leaving me without any Life cover. I phoned 30 September asking to reactivate the policy. This was not done. I am a contractor. No work no pay. I can't risk not having any Life cover or Income protection. If my paybacks are not paid out I will refer this matter to the Ombudsman.
