I have a South African property listed on Expedia. Their support for South African guest houses is nil. You can only talk to a robot / AI and cannot get answers. I have been struggling to get payment from them for over a month. There is absolutely no South African contact numbers of customer service. And unfortunately there are many offs**** travellers who book through Expedia. Disaster. Do not use them as your partner of choice.
We stayed in a 4 sleeper self catering chalet at the resort 24 September to 29 September 2024. There is not much to do at the resort so was important for us to know that all hotel facilities were available. The hotel was closed for reno and we were told all hotel facilities are still available, however the hotel pool and bar was closed. The pools by the chalets were quite a walk and you were not allowed to bring any food or drinks into the area. So access to the hotel pool and bar would have been great as there is not much to do at the resort itself. Chalets were serviced daily but the floors were not washed and not enough towels were provided. WiFi did not work for two days and we could not access our work environments. Capello restaurant on-site was poor - poor service, got our take away pizza order wrong and drinks while we wait took longer than preparing the pizza order. Cost was excessive. The Aquadome is a complete "*******". TI does not state clearly on the website how it operates. You can only access it for a few hours and the cost did not merit accessing the done. Just not value for money. Ten pin bowling also excessively priced. The chalets were extremely noisy. There was no control in the area. Taxis were allowed to enter unsupervised and people were partying around the taxis up to 3am in the morning. One evening we heard sounds similar to gunshots in the chalet area and no security guards were patrolling and taking control. Check-out process is onerous and on our second day we witnessed very frustrated guests who were already waiting for very long periods of time for someone to sign off the chalets to refund deposits. There were 6 guests waiting for check-out. We left very early because there was a warning issues of snow on Van Reenens pass again and we did not want to get trapped. No-one was available via 24 hour line to assist with check-out. We sent Emerald Casino reservations an email to get refund however 3 weeks later and we have received no response. I would not recommend this destination for a break away. We went to Vereeniging for our child to compete in a competition and it was the only destination option we thought would occupy the children when not competing but it was not the case. They have to upgrade the entertainment and facilities, make it more accessible from a cost perspective and address service.
I ordered a package 15 Nov 2023. By December 2023 I still have not received it. I managed to track the owners of Craftivating.com - Xvanta. I complained a lot and then I received a delivery via Takealot during Feb 2024 but it was the wrong product. I returned the product but am still waiting for my refund. Shocking. I read a review that they have now been liquidated? How do we get our money back now!
I recently bought furniture from Mr Price Home. We assembled and started using the furniture in April 2023. It was a novice desk for my daughter and a bedside shelf pedestal for my son. They both looked lovely, modern and stable in the store but once built the pedestal wasn't very sturdy. The desk was sturdier but we really struggled to fit the drawers and the one drawer has never really been able to open and close properly. It was as if the fit was slightly off. After a few weeks, the pedestal laminate chipped off and about 2 to 3 months later the desk laminate starting chipping off. I was told by the store that furniture can only be returned within 7 days after purchase. I have written an email with pictures and addressed it to the store for them to escalate and to see what the headquarters offer. This morning I sent them another picture of the drawer of the desk that can no longer close. The furniture presents a more cost effective solution but it is really overpriced for the low quality you get. We are now stuck with furniture that looks unattractive and which you cannot really fix. I would not recommend purchasing the Novice desk or the bedside pedestals. It looks good but is very flimsy and not durable at all. I really regret the purchases and I cannot even comfortably try on-sell it. Really very disappointed.
No communication about delivery. My delivery is massively delayed. I require my package urgently before an overseas trip - I bought travelling gear and accessories. Should have received it 2 weeks ago. No apology. No communication. Contact us help and support not working. No phone numbers.
I have been buying online from Decofurn for many years. Their quality with some exceptions are generally acceptable for the purposes I have purchased it for - understanding that it is a venue for affordable furniture. I submitted a very big order in November 2020 for delivery at our guest house. It included 14 pedestals. After building one which quality was fairly low but accepting it is what you get at that price range, I realised that it will not work in my guest house. I could not find an alternate product to exchange it for and requested a return of the 13 unassembled pedestals which I logged on 9 Dec 2020, which they said they will collect at a charge - so it is not a free service to return unlike other online shops. Despite follow-up my returns have not been collected more than a month later and in the meantime I sit with a product out of which I will get no use but they have the benefit of the money paid for it. They are very good with online purchases and deliveries of purchased goods but obviously very poor in returns. If you offer the service to collect you need to deliver the same service as for purchases. After every follow-up I get a response that it will be collected asap but I am waiting and waiting. A very frustrating thing about all online shops is that they offer no post-sale contact numbers or telephone numbers or interactive chats - it is very frustrating and disappointing.
I have been a loyal Takealot shopper but my recent purchase was worst experience ever. An incorrect patio set was delivered and I have been struggling for more than 10 days to get this resolved. I warned them I am going overseas but there were no haste in getting it resolved. I gave them my son's contact details while away but despite 2 messages that the incorrect patio set will be collected no contact was made with my son. Trying yo resolve this while overseas is an absolute disaster. Takealot gives you no access to management, no access to a complaints department and seem to blame the seller however I see Takealot as my service provider? How do I get this resolved?????? An expensive purchase with no respect frim Takealot.
