I really don't know whose bright idea is it to create a delivery app where you can't communicate with the driver. Driver came close to my place, did not follow instructions that were part of my order requesting that he press a number on my intercom for me to open. I sent a delivery note update with the question "is everything ok?" which was ignored. Then when I'm refunded, it's only for the items, not the delivery fee for items not delivered despite the fact that I made an effort to ask the driver whether everything is ok, I'm penalized and need to pay for delivery fee again in reordering. I understand hiring people who don't know how to follow rules of the road, but at least hire people who can at least read. Really goes against treating clients fairly to be penalized because someone decided not to follow instructions and press the intercom so that I can open for them.
All I can say is know who you are involving yourself with and have lots of patience, you will need it. One consultant will say you can use your driver's license and proof of residence to accept delivery (reference number: 8146790) the next day another one will say the exact opposite and say no you can't, that consultant you spoke to is an agent, it's not Rain - when you ask whether the other consultant was *****ulently pretending to work for Rain and sending emails on behalf of Rain, the consultant raises their voice as if they helped you pay for your package whereas you paid for the package on your own. If you don't have patience or are short tempered, please save yourself the trouble. Imagine, loadshedding, potholes now people you pay for a service refuse you to get your package and then give you attitude afterwards as if you didn't pay them. Like really, all the best, you'll need it, trust me.
I had made arrangements to receive my package with my driver's license to which they advised and provided email confirmation that I can and will receive my package with my driver's license and proof of residence. I went further and advised CCD Couries, their delivery partner, of the same matter and they too made a note of same and advised that it shouldn't be an issue and that the driver will be advised. When the driver arrives with the package, they advised me that they were not advised so they left with the package that I have paid for already. My frustration is that when I called rain on the 13th June 2023,they advised and confirmed by email that it wouldn't be an issue. Today when I'm supposed to get my package, no one knows about the arrangement.
I currently have a professional cheque account with Standard Bank and I have a registered a pty limited and wanted to have my business bank account with Standard Bank. Initially I wanted to apply for a MyMoBiz account but after being advised that I cannot later migrate to the normal Business Current Account, I sent the consultant an email stating lets rather open a Business Current Account and I will willingly cover the higher bank charges that come with same willingly. I further advised him that during the call we had, some questions come off guard, like turnover. In my email I was honest enough to say honestly I can't say. I don't know. Most startups don't even make it past the first 5 years and I might even fail and some day call to say lets close the account. That's the honest reality of starting a business. Not sure if I was supposed to lie and say I'll make R1mil t/o not knowing if I will even make a turnover to begin with but nonetheless I insisted that in any event, I'm paying, in aggregate, almost R300 (or more) in monthly fees, so the fees that come with the Business Current Account shouldn't be life changing, I'd rather go big or not bother at all and I will pay for those fees from my own pocket if needs be. My documents/application had to be verified for almost 3 days (don't know why because I literally bank with them in my personal capacity) and ultimately they have decided to decline giving me the account as apparently I don't meet their requirements to have a Business Account with them. Anyone who understands business understands that starting one is a risk, things might work out or they might not, but if as a client I say, its ok, please open an account for me, I'll cover the fees, why should I be rejected. I asked the consultant to provide me with an indication as to what requirements I fall short off. I'm certain they are still searching as hard as possible for a plausible excuse that they're hoping I'll buy as I'm still waiting for a response even know. When you say I don't meet the requirements, surely before you say that you must know what I fall short off? It shouldn't take a soul searching session to figure out what more I need to qualify. Really did not anticipate this from Standard Bank as I am happy with them on all other fronts.
I ordered a pizza online from Debonairs Banbury Crossing, paid for it online and I was even a clown because I also added a driver tip. The pizza never arrived despite the fact that I received confirmation that the store was busy preparing my order. Despite this, the order, which I paid for, never arrived. Like now I'm asking myself what must happen, why did the store accept my order and payment if they weren't going to deliver.
I had ordered a burger and chips from Roccomamas through Mr Delivery last week Friday. When we got the order, the chips were missing, chips that had been paid for. I called and they told me about a voucher, I said I don't want a voucher, I asked for chips. What am I gna do with a voucher. Maybe the chips were left at the shop, I want those chips. Then they said they will refund me after 5 working days. Today its the 6th day, still no refund. I place another order nonetheless as they say they are still investigating the issue from last week. When today's order comes, the driver shouted at my mom that we took time to open, the estimated time for arrival was for 13:20, the driver got here at 13:11 and we ddnt take that long to open, by the time it was 13:20 he had already left. The issue is that while still owing us a refund, they have the audacity to shout at my mom and thats ontop of the driver having been tipped, which was not a must but we're being generous despite ****py service and taking into account the current pandemic. At least from June we can collect our own orders and we won't have to worry whether chips were eaten on the way or whether they were left at the restaurant.
