I am finding it very difficult to communicate with Discovery Health. I am the Executor of a deceased estate. The deceased and his surviving spouse were both members. The deceased was the main member and the debit order was on his bank account. I have been trying since 23rd December to get Discovery to acknowledge the death of the main member and communicate with me regarding continued cover for the surviving spouse. I wrote to Discovery via email address administration@discovery.co.za on 23rd December sending all the relevant documents (death certificate, ID of deceased, Letters of Executorship, Executor's ID and spouse's proof of bank account). I received a response on 24th December, providing me with a reference number and advising that my correspondence had been sent to the relevant department. On 21st January 2026, having not received the promised response, my assistant phoned Discovery and was told that we had to complete an on-line form on the website. We did this and received another reference number and a promise that one of their skilled consultants would communicate with us via email with 1 to 2 business days. On 11th February, still not having heard a word, we phoned again. This time we had to provide the consultant with information so that she could complete an on-line form on our behalf. She promised that we would receive a communication with 24 hours. The 24 hour period has passed and I have not heard from Discovery.
I am sorry that I have to give Dirty Leather a bad review. I have bought 3 handbags, 1 purse and a laptop bag from them. I was very happy with the first 4 items I bought from them, but something has gone awry. I ordered a handbag at the end of July for my sister who was due to visit me in November from Australia. I received the bag after my sister's arrival in mid November, and it wasn't the bag that I ordered, although it was very nice. I think I only actually received the bag because I nagged and begged and didn't stop messaging and phoning them. Unfortunately, they seem to have a supply problem, which is unfortunate. I wouldn't recommend buying from them as it is not guaranteed that you will receive the order or whether you will get what you ordered.
I order printer cartridges from FirstShop on a regular basis. I am very happy with the service. They are always arrive promptly in good order.
I am an attorney dealing with the administration of a deceased estate. I am the Executor of the relevant estate. The saga begins on 13 October 2023, when I went into my local branch of FNB, as directed, in order to close the estate late bank account. I provided them with all the necessary documentation. They advised me that they would need to send the documentation to the FNB Deceased Estate department and that the first step would be for their records to be updated to reflect me as the Executor, since the father of the deceased was the previous Representative of the estate, but is now deceased. They were provided with the death certificate of the father of the deceased. Since 13th October, I have made too many phone calls to annotate here. I have also been back to the branch on 5th December. I have also made a complaint to FNB - reference number 3146543 on 20th November, but all I received was an automatic response apologising for the delay in responding to me. I sent an email to Customer Care on 13th December, quoting the complaint reference number received by way of the automatic response. I received an automatic reply on the same day acknowledging my email and that was the end of that. The family of the deceased, who are desperate for the matter to move forward so that they can go ahead with their customary rituals also started phoning the Deceased Estate Department on a regular basis. On one occasion they were told that there was a form outstanding. Having heard nothing about this myself, I then phoned the Deceased Estate Department yet again and spoke to somebody who confirmed the form had been annotated on the system as outstanding the previous day and sent the form to me so that I could comply. The form was sent back to FNB on 18th December. Since then, I have made numerous phone calls, the last of which was this morning. On each occasion, I am told that the matter is being escalated. This morning, the consultant advised it would be forwarded to his manager and would be prioritized. All we are waiting for is FNB to verify that I have been appointed as the Executor, so that I can deal with the account. I am beyond frustrated and astonished by FNB's inability to verify that I am the Executor of the estate, despite having been in possession of all the relevant documentation since 13th October 2023.
I order my HP ink cartridges from FirstShop on a regular basis. They are always delivered promptly and in good condition. From my experiences, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend FirstShop.
I AM AN ATTORNEY WHO DEALS WITH DECEASED ESTATES. ABSA BANK IS NOTORIOUSLY INCREDIBLY SLOW IN CLOSING BANK ACCOUNTS, YET THEY CONTINUE TO CHARGE INTEREST AND BANK CHARGES UP UNTIL THE TIME THAT THE ACCOUNTS ARE CLOSED. IN SOME CASES IT TAKES UP TO 6 MONTHS TO CLOSE ACCOUNTS. THIS IS JUST NOT CORRECT AND I BELIEVE THIS PRACTICE MUST BE CHALLENGED.
I AM AN ATTORNEY EXPERIENCING GREAT DIFFICULTIES WITH ABSA BANK. IN FACT I HAVE REACHED A POINT WHERE I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN. I AM DEALING WITH VARIOUS DECEASED ESTATES WHERE I AM TRYING TO CLOSE BANK ACCOUNTS. ONE GOES AS FAR BACK AS FEBRUARY 2022. MY OTHER PROBLEM IS WITH TRYING TO CANCEL A BOND OVER A PROPERTY BELONGING TO A DECEASED PERSON WHERE THE FAMILY DO NOT KNOW THE BOND ACCOUNT NUMBER. I HAVE SENT EMAILS TO VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS, MADE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS INCLUDING TO THE COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT / ACTION LINE, BUT TO NO AVAIL. I GET PUSHED FROM PILLAR TO POST AND NOBODY IS ACCOUNTABLE. IT IS A VERY DISTURBING SITUATION.
The bad service and lack of communication that I have received from Wesbank has been rather astonishing. I am an attorney dealing with a deceased estate. There was a balance owing to Wesbank on vehicle finance. The executor surrendered the vehicle which was auctioned and I requested copies of the sale agreement/conditions of sale in respect of the sale of the vehicle at the auction; and the loan agreement from Wesbank in October 2021. Despite numerous attempts to obtain same I have been unable to get anything out of Wesbank, who have now handed the matter over to their attorneys Ismail & Dahya, who are just as illusive as Wesbank. Suffice to say, I am finding it impossible to get hold of Wesbank or Ismail & Dahya so that we can try and settle this matter. I would like to add that the whole process with Wesbank has been extremely frustrating right from the start and I have spent a great deal of time in trying to get hold of them and trying to get the necessary information out of them.
I PURCHASED AN HP COMPATIBLE CARTRIDGE FOR MY HP PRINTER FROM INK STATION. I RECEIVED IT WITHIN GOOD TIME BUT SOON AFTERWARDS I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE PRINTING QUALITY. I EMAILED THEM AND THEY RESPONDED WITHIN A SHORT SPACE OF TIME AND SUGGESTED I TRY TO REALIGN MY PRINT HEAD. I DID THIS BUT SOME DAYS LATER IT BECAME APPARENT THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. WHEN I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN THEY OFFERED TO SEND A COURIER TO COLLECT THE PRINT CARTRIDGE SO THAT THEY COULD ASSESS IT. THEY DID THIS AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER THEY SEND ME A NEW PRINT CARTRIDGE. WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED WITH THE SECOND CARTRIDGE, I SENT A FURTHER EMAIL. THEY CONTACTED ME PROMPTLY AND ADVISED THAT IT WOULD SEEM THAT MY PRINTER WAS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE GENERIC CARTRIDGE. THEY OFFERED TO REPLACE IT WITH A GENUINE HP PRODUCT AND FOR ME TO PAY IN THE DIFFERENCE. WELL DONE INK STATION FOR YOUR GOOD SERVICE.
I AM AT THE END OF MY ROPE WITH ABSA BANK DECEASED ESTATES DEPARTMENT. I AM AN ATTORNEY ATTENDING TO DECEASED ESTATES. I REQUESTED IN ONE MATTER THAT THE DECEASED'S ACCOUNTS BE CLOSED ON 31ST MARCH 2021 AND IN ANOTHER MATTER ON 18TH MAY 2021. I RECEIVE THE AUTO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO MY EMAILS AND NOTHING ELSE. I HAVE EVEN SENT EMAILS TO actionline@absa.co.za WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE COMPLAINTS RESOLUTION EMAIL ADDRESS - TO NO AVAIL.
