My husband, baby and I recently stayed at the Caledon Hotel and Spa for a much needed rest and relaxation trip. We were placed in the absolute worst room, right next to the reception area with a closed connecting door to an adjacent room. At 1:15am we were woken by loud conversation between a guest and the reception staff that continued for almost half an hour. I could practically hear everything. Our sleep was completely disrupted, but worst still, at 4:15am we were woken by loud screaming and shouting by the guests in the adjacent room. Due to the connecting door the room was not even slightly sound proof and I could hear them in the bathroom, speaking and shouting, cell phones going off and even them using the wardrobe. This went on for almost 2 hours despite me informing reception and the staff going to investigate the noise. By this time it was morning and we had almost no sleep, feeling sick, upset and exhausted despite paying for a night of rest and relaxation. It is absolutely shocking and unacceptable that Caledon Hotel places paying guests in rooms that are almost inside public areas and with connecting doors to other guests. It was my worst sleep experience in any hotel by far.
Bonitas requires sick elderly clients to stand outside Dept of Labour SASSA offices in middle of night to obtain proof of pension form despite other documents to prove pension payment. My elderly mother was told she needs the stamped form necessitating her waiting outside in adverse weather and unsafe conditions from 4am. Bonitas has no consideration for the health and wellbeing of its clients!
The Arabella Hotel boasts of having a heated lap pool and their outdoor pool being attractive all year round. They also claim to have a kids club on weekends and public holidays. You spend thousands on your booking only to arrive and be told that kids cannot use the indoor pool, and the freezing cold lap and outdoor pool is unusable altogether in winter despite them advertising it as heated. The kids club is only in school holidays. Do not waste your money and go there as there is absolutely nothing for kids to do. A huge disappointment at the false advertising and waste of money to those who have kids.
Every time I order a Big Mac it's the most horrible burger. It's as if they leave the burger standing in an oven all day. The bun is extremely dry and the burger is sauceless. I gave Mcdonalds Capricorn the benefit of the doubt several times but this is now rediculous. They are not up to the standards of any other Mcdonalds I've been to.
I have been repeated ****** of benefits due to me in the Pregnancy Programme and told that Discovery IT is dealing with the issue. It has been 6 months and no one has resolved any issues. Clients are **** to and then forced to themselves struggle for months to try and sort out benefits owed and savings erraneously depleted because of this. It takes hours of contacting agents, explaining th situation over and over only to be told they will refer to managers who meet once a week so it may or may not get sorted. Savings are used up instead of pregnancy benefits. Do Not trust Discovery with benefits due to you or their agents who make empty promises.
I have been waiting for 7 months for the payout of my retirement annuity and pension fund. All my emails are repeatedly ignored and despite receiving automated replies saying they will get back to me, I have heard nothing since October 2022. This is blatant theft and inexcusable for what we assume to be a reputable company. Do not trust your money to AF!
Gynaecologists refuse to see emergency patients at Tokai Melomed and now claims department erraneously bills twice, and 3 months after hospital visit, causing medical huge medical aid costs and issues due to delay. The hospital has not corrected the issue despite promising to, and is now avoiding our calls altogether.
I started the My Pregnancy programme with discovery which provides a bundle of maternity benefits. However, before using any benefits the bundle was already depleted of some consultations and scans, an error on the part of Discovery system. After weeks of contacting agents and repeatedly explaining the situation, I was told the missing benefits cannot be reallocated due to system limitations. I had to use what I was given and after it was depleted contact agents again for reprocessing of claims. This would take months of hassle, stress and re-explainations. Despite huge medical aid costs and owed medical coverage, Discovery cannot fix their own systems issues which results in loss of owed benefits to clients. This basically equates to theft! And I am told I have to continue in future to plea for refunding of extra spent costs because of this. This is unacceptable and I advise everyone to think twice before joining discovery medical aid.
An absolutely traumatic experience at Melomed Tokai emergency. I was turned away during a maternity crisis due to loadshedding and dysfunctional generator and told to go elsewhere as no gynae could scan me. I ended up walking up 5 flights of stairs humiliating begging 3 different gynaes to see me in my crisis but was turned away by 2 as they would not see emergency patients in their rooms on the spot. Do not use melomed Tokai is you are pregnant and need urgent care!
Beware of swiping your bank card at Keedo V&A Waterfront! You may be double charged and false receipts issued to cover up! I was promised I would receive a refund for an erraneous double charge but ended up struggling for a week to get the refund. I was told I need to come back in to the store first instead of them simply reversing the charge and then offered gift vouchers instead of my money. Eventually after giving up, I received a deposit into my account not a reversal, at the same time my bank reversed the charge. They then followed up with my bank and falsified receipts to show that they refunded me! This was the most shocking of all! If a store is able to make up false purchases and refunds, we aren't safe of fraud and scams!
