It’s been over four months since they took my money, and they delivered incorrect items; missing items; and broken items. I have been following up for the full four months, and I still have not been assisted. There is a person by the name of Suhayfa, my emails are always forwarded to them, and they never assisted, but that’s all I get when I am sending a follow up to them.
I thought I should bring this to light regarding the Builders Warehouse’s return policy. First point, there is no return policy, once you buy an item you can never return it. If you bought a wrong size, too bad, next time hire a pro to do accurate measurements for you. However, if you really want to return something because you really can’t do anything with it, perhaps wrong size, or they delayed your order for so long that you ended up ordering from other vendors, or you are completely dissatisfied with the quality of the product, you will have to pick up the phone and call them and beg them to come pick your item. Then they will say, “well, since you were too stupid to not see the exact measurements and fittings within your space against the online numbers, the degrees measurements, to miss the colour you are seeing on the screen that it might be a bit different from the colour you get as a product etc. You are wrong. Since you are the one who is wrong and not us, we are going to have to charge you to correct your mistake, you will pay R350 for a collection fee”. The issue of course is that if you are returning an item that costs R300, paying R350 to return it won’t make much sense at all, the question will then be do you pay for the *** to go back or you simply accept that you are stuck with the ***.
They delivered an order with missing items, and damaged items, and I have been following up for weeks now and these have not been attended to. They also never sent me an order number for one of the orders, they simply took the money and kept quiet. I have been following up for weeks, and these still haven’t been addressed. They have completely ignored my emails. Even when I’m calling them, they don’t answer the calls.
I placed an order with Makro online, on Sunday, for the items that I really needed. Yesterday, I got a message saying that my order has been cancelled, no explanation as to why this was cancelled. This is so confusing and frustrating.
I have been unable to place an order for months now, and have sent the emails and follow up emails to the customer service, and till today my issue hasn’t been resolved. The issue is that they are saying that I was refunded twice for the order that was made in January 2023, I have sent them the bank statements and they still can’t show me where the refund was processed to. There was no issue from January 2023 until early March this year when this surfaced, and I was not informed of this, there was a back and forth where I was querying what the store told me, which is that my credit card had insufficient funds when I placed an order, which made no sense at all as if there were insufficient funds in the account, the purchase would have declined. The lady from Rossburg branch did a reconciliation for me where she picked up that this money is coming from January 2023. Then I queried this with Builders online, and this was four months ago, and it’s still not resolved.
My girlfriend was supposed to pay her last instalment this month, and Finchoice deducted more than the instalment amount she was supposed to pay, and she sent an email requesting that she’s refunded the extra amount, and nothing happened. Today she has just woke up to another message, Finchoice debiting her account again, and she has just called them and spoke to agent, only find that the agent hanging up on her.
My girlfriend ordered a laptop on 24/01/2025, and Rentoza debited her bank account immediately, and she waited for the laptop, and there was no communication whatsoever. They have deducted the money from her bank account again, still with no laptop and no communication.
I bought a bed from Russell’s in October 2024, and when I saw the bed early November, I saw that the base was faulty, the plank was outside. I raised this with them, and there were arrangements to exchange the base. Until Now, 22 February 2025, this has not happened. This has caused a damage to my kid’s mouth, he tripped and hit this corner of the base and got his lip injured and he was bleeding. This is a gross negligence.
