This company sneeks in a subscription, and doesn't allow you to unsubscribe. More people should know, and the banks should take notice.
I don't know if it will help, but I've received this email address for communication: Customerservice-en@contact.edreams.com As everyone else has said - this company does not allow you to unsubscribe. I have had to cancel my credit card AND my credit account (apparently they were able to get authorization for my account and not just my card - and so even cancelling my credit card didn't stop the payments). I have been fighting with my bank for 5 months to stop these payments.
I have been with FNB for 25 years, and am changing banks. I closed my credit account, and FNB reopened the account to pay a merchant I didn't want paid. I unwittingly subscribed to eDreams - which turned out to be a **** company - and was charged monthly. I CANCELLED the card I used, and FNB continued to send the money to eDreams. So with no other option, I CLOSED the account, and FNB RE-OPENED it to pay the merchant. I've sat in the branch for hours trying to get this resolved and have been assured they will reclose it and not open it to pay anyone else. But how can they reopen and pay someone from a closed account in the first place? I'm done - closing my FNB accounts and going to try a different bank. Profoundly disappointed.
After our tenant renewed his lease for a year, Pam Golding Roodepoort went hands-off entirely. I only found out some months down the line that the tenant had brought multiple maintenance needs to PGP's attention in the year before and they had acknowledged it and done absolutely nothing about it - not even let me know. The tenant finally came to me as the landlord to threaten legal action if it wasn't dealt with. I started emailing PGP weekly, then almost daily to try and get them to get maintenance workers in since I live across the country. They had endless excuses and apologies, but simply wouldn't get to it, even after taking my complaints to a national head-office level. After months of pain, I had to get my own contractors in. By this point our tenant had decided he was done and would not renew again. We lost a tenant because of PGP. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Additionally, when it came time for the tenant to move out, PGP had lost (or perhaps never had) the entrance inspection documentation and so we couldn't withhold the deposit for needed repairs to the walls, doors and ceilings that the tenant had left for us to deal with. The tenant threatened legal action again if we didn't release his deposit and instead of protecting our interests, PGP took no action except to tell us that we had a problem. We have had to re-tile, re-paint, repair and replace items in the unit, costing 10% of property value. PGP Roodepoort caused a year of pain. In the strongest terms I would warn you against working with PGP.
Just read the other reviews. We had similar experiences. AVOID THIS COMPANY. I've been emailing them for months asking them to cancel our service because the car they are 'watching' was written off last year, and they are still debiting my account. Finally I stopped the debit order and have now been told my account is in arrears and this will affect my credit rating. AVOID THIS COMPANY.
Sales Manager Matthew was amazing on the phone and really sold the business to me. Other than that, it was a REGRETTABLE EXPERIENCE - truly. 'Understandable delay' followed 'understandable delay', and our moving truck finally arrived THREE AND A HALF DAYS LATE, by which point we were already looking for other moving companies and were prepared to lose our deposit as we were late to start a new job at our destination. Especially frustrating was that only one-in-ten calls were answered by Ahoo Star's offices. Due to the incredible delays (three and a half days!!) in fetching our belongings, we were offered a possible reduction in cost. However, this fell away once the truck arrived at it's destination and we were told that until we pay the full amount our belongings won't be released to us. What business offers a discount, and then removes it when you are locked in? Honestly, by this point I was simply overjoyed that our belongings had arrived and paid to get them released. However, when I arrived at the house and saw how our belongings had been tossed chaotically around our house, and then saw how much of our furniture and boxes had been damaged, I decided to write a review to warn others. Unfortunately, really worth paying the extra amount and getting a reputable company. Learn from our mistake.
