Goodday, I requested quotes for artificial grass installation and paving through your platform. I was contacted by a company called Matts Construction / Artificial Grass and Paving. A man arrived at my property in a Range Rover and claimed he had just come from a service appointment and very busy with quotes. Initially everything seemed fine, but several red flags quickly appeared. He said he could start the job the same afternoon but required a 70% deposit upfront. The total price he quoted was even cheaper than the cost of materials alone based on the quotes I had already obtained myself. He also told me that I should not contact the supplier directly because they supposedly get the materials cheaper. That raised further concern. He then gave me a reference with lots of pictures of work done the previous day. When i checked the phone number on Truecaller, it was flagged as “Bark *****.” The number used was +27 61 290 9597. This appears to be a clear ***** attempt with multiple warning signs. Fortunately, I did not proceed and avoided being caught. When i confronted him on Whatsapp, all of a sudden his number is offline. Can you please explain what vetting process is used for contractors on your platform? I am very concerned that someone like this was able to contact me through your site. If this is not addressed properly, I will consider escalating the matter further, including raising it with consumer media and radio. Trevor
Judging by the number of complaints online and bad rating, I’m not going to waste time writing a long review here. I’ve already done that directly with Siemens. Our R26,000 gas hob cracked after just three weeks. These hobs may look premium, but the build quality is shockingly poor. There are no rubber supports under the WUG, meaning even the slightest drop causes the glass to crack, a R10,000 repair just like that. Easy money for Siemens, apparently. What’s especially baffling is that the grids do have rubber supports, yet the heaviest component doesn’t. How that design decision makes any sense is beyond me. Trying to deal with Siemens customer service is like pulling teeth: No warranty. No explanation. No accountability. Just “it is what it is.” Siemens, not that it matters to you with your large client base, but this is worth saying. Years ago I received terrible service from LG, and to this day I own not a single LG product. During my recent renovation, I chose Siemens throughout the house, well over R100,000 worth of appliances. Sadly, I’m already starting to regret that decision. This entire issue could have been avoided at minimal cost with proper design. Next step: sharing this experience across all social media platforms. Cheers, trevor
Ebucks unable to provide rewards offered by FNB. Ebucks had issue with Kuaia rewards so after 3 months they sms me wicodes for the rewards i missed due to their system error. Going to kuaia i was left standing red face as the code provided by Ebucks did not work. Value R76. I ordered value R64. Phoning call centre, Shinobia tells me i must go back and ask them for a error code otherwise she cant log it. Rather disappointed with this service. After months finally getting a code thats not working. If i wasnt so persistent i wouldve asked them to pick a finger and simply just change banks.
FNB Ebucks Rewards Ebucks had an issue where i didn't get my rewards for having a child linked. This was in December 2023. I've been patiently trying to resolve but lets reside to social media maybe that wakes the right people up. Ebucks advised that the missing rewards would be sms to me. When i folow up, the reply is it was sent. Yet they cannot provide me proof that it was sent, check your spam. De-je-vu every 2weeks since December 2023. Nothing in spam, simple resolution, provide proof it was sent and delivered. I do not believe you.
Used Grants services. Had the worst experience ever. Will do my research next time before I use debt collectors. I did not get my moneys worth. Just caused me more headaches.
Be warned. Penny and Grant would lie and take your money. I needed to recover some debt and called on Nationwide Collections to assists. They respond quickly and make the fee very reasonable to attract their customers. Their famous phrase "Grant will put the fear of god in them" bla bla bla. The sad thing is I got fooled not twice but 3 times. First time they fooled me, paid money, then after they couldn't get my money recovered Grant told me pay me some more then we use alternative method. Well, there he fooled me again. Well Grant, Karma is a you know what. What comes around goes around. They can only do the easy cases. They lie pretend they are lawyers to the person they collecting debt. As soon as there is resistance, they simply lie to their client and keep them in limbo hoping you would go away. Eventually I'm fed up and ask Grant to deliver and provide proof of what he has done. He did a 360 and I've never heard such fowl language coming from a person who gladly took my money and made empty promises. Wow, I was shocked. Look on social media where posted printscreen of his Whatsapp and sms chats. Shocking! Anyway. Be careful. You will loose your money. These are not good people judging from the whatsapps and sms texts he send me. Eventually, I just went to a reputable lawyer and that worked. Now all I need is debt collectors to get my money back from these debt collectors. haha.

Penny and Grant. Lies lies lies. I needed to recover some debt and called on Nationwide Collections to assists. They respond quickly and make the fee very reasonable to attract their customers. Their famous phrase "Grant will put the fear of god in them" bla bla bla. The sad thing is I got fooled twice. They fooled me once, paid money, then after they couldn't get my money recovered Grant told me pay me some more then we use alternative method. Well, there he fooled me again. Well Grant, Karma is a you know what. What comes around goes around. So, be careful. All these guys do is write initial letter from a template and make a few calls. That's it. Money down the drain. Eventually went to a lawyer and that worked. Now you need debt collectors to get your money from these debt collectors. haha. Rather, get your friend to make a few calls for free and save money or rather look elsewhere. That's my 2c.
Very easy to get an initial policy, but try and add more on the policy. They will not phone you back. Rather click on Outsurance, they will phone you within 60seconds. Guess thats where my business will go. Now if i can just get hold of them to cancel!
My problem with Telkom insurance is the time they take. 20 business days which by me ended up being 1 month without a phone. Well stuck with a very old basic phone. Got the screen repaired which is fine BUT now when people phone me there is an echo. For goodness sake, no Quality testing? So the result my device has to be booked in again, another 1 month and who knows what will be wrong when i get it back again? Rather do yourself a favour and use Other insurances. I know of good stories with Outsurance and Santam. Anyway, Take it BUT know what you're in for if it needs repairs.
