I chose Dialdirect for my building and contents insurance as they seemed affordable and promising. An incident occurred at my premises when nobody was at home only to come home and find that the glass of the sliding door on my property was damaged by a stone and the glass shattered to the ground. I submitted a claim on their app and was hoping that this be treated as an emergency as there is currently no door and people had to sleep without a door that same evening. I waited to be contacted and eventually made contact with them directly telephonically. The call lasted about 20 minutes only to be told that the claim was registered and that it will be assigned to a claims advisor who will provide feedback in the next 24hours. This is unacceptable as I am paying for an insurance who suppose to be protecting me as the insured. They have not bothered to treat this as a matter of urgency or send someone out to view and assess the damage nor have they contacted me to find a solution. Now we have to sleep another day without a door on the property. Thank God I have electric fencing or who knows what might else might have happened had there been no electric fence.
I am quite disappointed as I thought changing my medical aid to LA Health which is administered by Discovery will be a better option. I have been on treatment for a chronic condition and have been on the same meds for the past 13 years only to find out that LA Health does not pay for the full costs of these meds and treatment. My previous medical aid has covered all costs relating to my chronic condition. LA Health wants my doctor to now change my meds to something else which they pay for after I have been on the same meds and have had no medical issues since I was diagnosed with my condition. Or I must pay two thirds of the cost of the medication. I find it frustrating as I now need to see how my body responds to the new medication as I am not in a position to afford these costs and I am also paying for a medical aid that doesn't cover these costs. I should have rather not switched medical aids had I known this was to happen. Now I have to wait a whole year again to change back to my previous medical aid.
So I came in to collect a vehicle which was in for service after receiving an email to say that the bakkie is ready for collection and was told that the person who is dealing with the vehicle is on lunch and that I must wait. Nobody else could assist to collect the vehicle. This is very unprofessional coming from a reputable service provider. I had to inconvenience another person to wait for me to see if the vehicle was actually ready for collection and had to wait for almost a hour after the person's lunch break. I am certainly sure someone else could have actually assisted whilst that person was on a lunch break. Really poor customer service from the Branch in Epping, Cape Town.
On 2024-07-31 I placed an order via the takealot.com website as I needed to buy my dog food urgently. After confirming my order and choosing the option for pick up at their warehouse in Richmond Park for the same day as what the site showed and what I chose, I proceeded to make payment and after the payment went through, I received confirmation via email which then said that my order will only be ready for collection on 2 August 2024. I was surprised as I expected to collect later today. I immediately sent an email to Takealot and contacted them telephonically when this happened and their response was not what I expected. They said that it will take up to 48hours to have my order ready even though the website says that the stock is available at the Cape Town Warehouse. If I cancelled the order then I have to wait for a refund which takes days and yet I need the food today. Takealot showed no empathy towards me as a customer who explained the situation to them, both telephonically and via email. They are just glad that a sale was made and they were paid for the item.
So after deciding to sell my shares at the same price it was bought for in 2017 and having submitted the relevant documents as requested by the company, I have been ignored. There is no transparency with this company. Mr Brian Mpono initially told me the process will take 14 days to complete. It is now more than 30days. I have contacted him numerous times via email and he never responded. He also told me that the sale was concluded and the buyer had effected payment to me and 3 other people on the 31 May 2024. That was another lie. The lies from this company is really pathetic. They can never give you a direct answer. I have tried contacting him this whole week via WhatsApp and now he just ignores my texts. I am considering legal action against this company aswell as getting them some "airtime" so that they can explain in detail to all the shareholders what is really going on. Poor communication from an established company. If you would like to join in the process kindly email me: marcusnaid00@yahoo.com
Oceans Hotel Shares In 2017 I purchased shares with Oceans Hotel Invest and was really excited about my investment. Initially it was said the the shares will be locked for 5 years before they are listed. It was managed at first with computershare which I thought was great. I later learned that the shares are no longer managed by computershare but by a company called Motif. It is now 2024 and the communication from the company is so bad that you have to keep calling Edison Corp offices to query about your shares. Brian who is supposed to be the contact person never responds to your emails or whatsapp messages. Same goes for Zama Dlamini who works for the same company. Nobody gives you the correct info. I also decided to sell my shares and 7 years later I was told that my shares are still worth R20 per share as was the initial offering. Yet the Hotel, Residential and Retail space are all open and my money was used for that together with thousands of other shareholders. I decided to sell my shares because there is no guarantee that this shares will be listed on a trading platform any time soon. It is also sad that the company built these properties with the shareholders monies and now are reaping the benefits of all our investments yet they say that there is no change in the price of the shares. Had I invested the very same amount in a fixed deposit account, I would have got a considerable amount of interest for my money. This company really needs to be investigated.
